Her Destined Ride — Chapter 60: THE SPEECH OF A LIFETIME

"Miss Sunny? Miss Sunny?" Someone is shaking me gently. I can't help but to open my eyes. I started stretching a little and I noticed my skin changed.

It was a bit saggy with golden age. I widened my eyes in surprise.

"V-Valerie?" Tears started to well up as I pulled her closer to me.

"Madam, I just want to remind you that you will have a speech two hours from now."

"Isn't it done yet?" My eyes widened as I realized that everything happened in a snap of a finger. Why is it that in the year 1957, everything takes a long time?

As far as I could remember, I almost spent two years in that period!

I rushed at the nearest big mirror to check on my reflection. I laughed out loud and cried at the same time when I can see my old self back, staring straight at me.

I even touched my face and smiled.

"M-Madam? Are you alright?" I turned my back and it was Valerie who looked worried. She even touched my arm as she hovered her gaze from my head going down my feet.

"Yeah! I just realized that life is so beautiful and meaningful in a deeper perspective.

"Oh, I see," I noticed she sighed with relief.

"Madam, I hope you'll prepare yourself for the questions of your fans. They will be attending our conventions, too. Male and female alike.

"Okay. I will keep that in mind." I grinned at my assistant. I am really thankful to see her again. I haven't even prevented myself from hugging her tight. I guess she felt weird all of a sudden. I've never been so clingy. Not even one. Not even in my every wildest dream. However, as I went to the past, I realized that there's more to life than fame, fortune and money.

As I go back from the past where my mom still lives, I realized restoring the kind of love that they always deserve is the best. I admit, from that approximately 2-10 minutes nap that's equivalent to two years from where I came from, it's the best feeling ever.

After almost two hours of preparation, I found myself sitting on the VIP guest's table. I grinned as I looked around me. There were thousands of delegates for me to address my speech.

But then, someone caught my attention. A handsome man obviously was as age as mine carrying a bouquet full of purple and yellow flowers combined. When he noticed me looking at his direction, he pointed at the bouquet she had for me with a triumphant smile. I nodded.

I touched the microphone in front to where I am standing right now. There's a little feedback til it went to normal.

"Hello to my love, my husband, Tyler Sean. I love you sweetheart." I winked. He glanced around as if wanting to melt. He couldn't help but smile too.

I started my speech with my simple life. How I began as a non-reader and on how I overcame it with the help of those people who truly cared so much along the way.

"Doubting yourself it is the worst enemy you could ever have.

I ended the speech receiving countless standing ovations as usual. When the Q&A finally came, I sat together with Tyler.

"See? I told you...there's high-end phones today. All you will ever bring wherever you are."

He chuckled as he pulled his Ipad tablet. He's proud to present it to me because there were lots of games installed.

My fans started to line up, hugging their books on their chest, looking at me with gleaming eyes.

"Miss Sunny G, what will you advise for young love?"

Tyler looked at me right away, pausing his recurring game. I smiled as I faced her.

"Be true to yourself. If you need to confess, do it. Always remember that every ticking of the clock is an opportunity to seize the moment and be true to yourself. But then always remember, know your limits."

Another teenager lined up. I asked her name and as I wrote on her autograph, he struck me with this question: What will you say to your fourteen year old self?

"I will tell her that she's amazing the way she is. I am thankful that she lived on her own,worked hard to where she is right now. I am proud of the decisions she made."

Tyler winked at me as he held my hand. The teenager even told us that we looked really good together.

"Thank you so much." We almost chorused. We went to my room from that hotel. Even if we're already passed our golden age,still he is the most handsome husband in the world.

"Are you alright?" He asked me, looking really worried as he cupped both of my cheeks with both of his hands.

"I am just happy today. I love you so much." I initiated the kiss to his lips that surprised him. He kissed me back like a hungry child as well.

"I love you more, my sweet sunshine."

I am proud to say that Tyler indeed became a researcher at NASA. He was too fascinated by space and constellations, he pursued this program without thinking he'll be having much of a hard time. I can say he truly reached his dreams to its highest peak. Whenever and wherever he goes, I am there to support him.

Indeed, that journey to the past hit me differently. I feel like I became a new person. I could vacuum-clean the whole house as soon as I will be back from the hotel together with Charles.

This destined ride not only taught me life's lessons. It is more of knowing how to live, overcome trials like a pro. Also, believing in yourself the most. Most importantly, the Corvette 1957 car made me find answers to my questions that's been bothering inside my head for decades. From about my father to the selling of the house. I've been asking questions that nobody even cared at all.

That ride changed my life forever. I know if there's another similar experience again, I will never hesitate to try again because life is always beautiful. It is meant to be enjoyed and discovered. Most importantly, you can love as much as you can.
