Her Destined Ride — Chapter 37: WE WILL FIND A WAY

Sunny's POV

I almost jumped from my seat as I rushed towards her. I hugged her tight, she couldn't help but chuckle.

"Gosh, you're the same Sunny dearie I have ever known." She said in her usual, cheerful voice as she giggled.

I turned my back and I could see my mom giggled as she tapped Mr. Athkinson's arm, too. He looked happy seeing my reaction as well.

"Do you like my surprise for you, honey?" I heard my mother from behind me.

"I can't believe it, mom. I love it! Thank you! I never thought you can do this for me!" I said, hugging her tight. She looked at Miss Marlyn while she also smiled at us.

"C'mon miss Marlyn. Have a seat. It is our pleasure to eat breakfast with you."

"C'mon, dear." I nodded as I held her hand as we walked to the dining table. I couldn't help but smile seeing her after three days. I missed Miss Marlyn so much. I hugged my mom from behind her as I stood behind the chair where she was sitting. She held both of my hands and tapped it.

"Mom, thank you so much."

"Anything for my precious daughter." As I sat between them, I saw how my mom smiled seeing my reaction.

"Mom, why is Miss Marlyn here?"

"I just want to make you happy in my own, little way. I decided to invite her here."

"This is really unexpected. I am really shocked, mom."

"Remember what I told you about your homeschool teacher? She's the one I am telling you about."

"W-What do you mean?" I answered grinning from ear to ear. I have this initial thought but I want to make sure of it. I want to hear it from my mother herself. Miss Marlyn only chuckled beside me as if letting my parents explain everything.

"Mr. Athkinson hired her for you. After what you told me last time, I coordinated with Miss Marlyn and she gladly accepted the offer."

I could see that Mr. Athkinson, and my mom met their gaze as if their eyes were having a conversation. They both smiled at each other, a meaningful one.

"Dear, your mom and I decided that it would be much better if she will be your homeschool teacher because she started it very well." Mr. Athkinson couldn't help but tell me these things, too as he held my mom's hand.

"Mr. Athkinson is right, my dear." Mom nodded as soon as she heard him.

"We can't find any suitable match rather than her for you."

"Wow! That's amazing, mom! Thank you so much Mr. Athkinson!" Miss Marlyn also looked at me. Her excited reaction always energizes me to the fullest. I always love how she would give that kind of energy whenever we would meet.

"I will try my best, sir, ma'am." Miss Marlyn nodded to them as she smiled. I admit, this is the best day ever!

I never knew mom would ever do this for me. I can't help but shed my tears in front of them that they all chuckled. There's no way I will ever get tired of learning more because Miss Marlyn will be the one teaching me what I needed to learn.

I got excited more because I have learned that Miss Marlyn will be living with us to focus on teaching me more. Now, I finally got the reason why she resigned from the public library as the librarian. I am sure she was offered double or even triple that she accepted this job right away.

I can't wait to tell Tyler about everything that happened today. I can imagine what he would look like as soon as he would know that Miss Marlyn is my teacher in preparation for my class two months from now.

The next morning, Miss Marlyn started explaining to me her specialized lessons designed exclusively for me. I felt like I am in cloud nine because I am sure I am three times more focused compared to the library.

"Does Tyler know about this, Miss?"

"I am sure he doesn't. When I passed my resignation, I just told him it's for personal reasons."

"I want to tell him about this, Miss. I am sure he'll be excited to know all of this, too."

"We can tell him this at a later time. I know he'll be happier to know that you're improving pretty well compared to the previous months."

She smiled as she tapped my head. I thought I'll be having a different teacher. I never expected that my mom would hire her for me.

"Sunny...thanks a lot, dear. I am very happy that your parents called me to be your teacher."

"I am telling mom about you, miss. If not because of you, I will never gain this much confidence."

She hugged me tight and pinched my cheeks.

She gave me the notes and books that I needed. Miss Marlyn focused more on my speaking and listening skills. The next two months seemed the easiest for me.

I never realized that mom hired Miss Marlyn as my teacher to prevent me from going outside more. It meant fewer meetings with Tyler. I tried my best to be as better as before for my benefit.

Days and weeks came like lightning and I rarely noticed the time as I learned with Miss Marlyn. Mom made sure I will be prepared more than anything that she let Miss Marlyn stay with us every weekday. She also has two days off every weekend.

"My dear, are you ready?" My mom asked me in a very excited manner. They were the same energy level with Miss Marlyn. I can't help but to be grateful for having them both in my life. It's as if I couldn't ask for anything more.

"Yes, although I am quite nervous."

"Oh please, don't be. That's just normal for your first day in school, my dear."

"Mom, do you think I can do it?"

"Why not? Even if you're not going to school, I can see your potential already. How much more today, after months of reviewing and self-studying? Please believe in yourself more, alright?"

"I'll do that, mom. Thank you for trusting me."

Westville Green Valley High. My eyes almost sparkled when looking at the school and the rooms inside it. I love the vintage design of the school. Although it is not air-conditioned, the trees that surround the school gave a lot of fresh air into every room.

The school has a three-story design, painted brown all over. The school is beautiful and welcoming. I can see a lot of high school students wearing their complete uniform from head to toe.

Our uniform's design is a white blouse that has a brown collar paired with a long skirt that's two inches above the knee. We also have our black shoes with long socks, covering most of my legs.

My mom bought me a beautiful backpack and I also have a lot of books to read. I preferred carrying it on my arms. I sighed as I hovered my gaze around the place. With a smile, I held my chin up high.

Gosh, I felt like going back to this weird, familiar feeling. That first day high in school. Who would have thought this granny would be back to school again? My goodness. In my wildest dreams, I haven't imagined it for me to do again. However, here I am without much effort at all. Back to school again. I am going back to that dilemma of students my age in this period of time.

"Hello, Westville Green Valley High. I am coming for you! Wait for me, classmates!" As I took my first step in going inside the place, I know this is also the start of changing my life forever.
