Her Destined Ride — Chapter 52: WAY BACK INTO LOVE

Sunny's POV

I can't remember how long I am walking right now. I tried waking up at three in the morning to make sure I won't wake him up. I haven't even had the chance to say goodbye to him for the last time.

I have decided to go far from him. Somewhere that he couldn't reach me. I should do all means just to avoid him, to not burden him after all.

I glanced at a nearby shop's wall clock and it is six in the morning now. I stopped at a nearby bakery to buy some bread. Good thing I still have my money with me, from my savings.

After munching the bread and drinking water from Tyler's water tumbler, I started walking again. I looked from left to right before I crossed the street until I reached a small restaurant.

"Good morning, ma'am." I entered it and an old lady with a crooked brow faced me.

"What do you want?" She said, putting both of her hands on her hips as she raised her eyebrows. I swallowed because she looked scary and strict at the same time.

"Do you need a helper, ma'am? I can work for you." As soon as she heard me, she looked at me from head to toe and she cleared her throat.

"Come inside," she said. I smiled because I can feel that I could have a part-time job while going to school.

"I need someone to wait tables,"

"Ma'am, I am willing to learn everything." I replied enthusiastically.

"You may start today." She said while looking at me again. I bit my lip and sighed. Well, this means I will miss school today. It is only Tuesday but here I am, working my ass on to survive.

I did what I was told to do. I am only fifteen and yet I am already experiencing this in life. I started to wonder why I can't even remember this part of my life if it is the most unforgettable one.

I wiped the tables as I glanced at the people going to and fro outside the restaurant. I am praying that Tyler will not see me here or else I will have to go with him again.

I talked to the old woman and I have learned that her name is Lydia Kheir. Thankfully, she allowed me to stay in the restaurant as a bed spacer because I got no place to stay this time. We agreed that I would be getting the minimum pay but there were free meals and bedspace in return for my part-time job.

Lydia Keir is the owner of their family business for almost thirty years. The restaurant is a mix American-Mexican cuisine by day and a bar at night. She accepts men who want to drink some hard liquor and alcoholic drinks to soothe their stress.

I could imagine what my life will be after accepting this job. I felt nervous but I have no choice at this time. I am still mad about what mom did to our old house without even informing me. I am also a bit sad that I left Tyler. I am not planning to disturb him for a longer time. That isn't my style. If I became independent in the year 2020, I could start my training as young as I am right now.

Hours came by like a flash and it is almost seven in the evening. I'm a bit nervous because I have watched these scenes on TV but I never got to experience any.

"Sunny, start serving our customers. Usually, the most impatient ones were going here during nighttime." I nodded as I swallowed. I will not find out if I can if I will not try, right?

I lifted the tray full of beverages carefully. I started walking through the aisles of tables. I could see a lot of men staring at me like a delicious piece of meat that they're about to devour any time.

I placed some drinks to table numbers 6,7 and 8. They smiled as they nodded.

"Dude, that lass looked like Lilian Grainger."

"Yeah. I agree. But that bitch just left me for Adrian. I will never forget what she did to me."

"What do you plan to do?"

"I will take my revenge, John. I won't settle being a loser all my life."

Upon hearing those words, my heart started to pound real fast. How come my mom got involved at this? Who are these guys?

I walked past them, not being too obvious. I admit, I suddenly fear mom's life. I know I hate her so much but this is different. What if they will kill mom in one of these days?

"Sunny…" My thoughts were disturbed when I heard Ms. Lydia's voice.

"Y-Yes?" I slowly lifted my head as I looked at her. Please go to table number seven and serve them this.

Her voice is a bit firm that I couldn't say no. I swallowed as I nodded. What is she up to, this time? My knees were almost shaking because of what I heard from them and I am serving the boys their drinks.

I held the side of the tray firmly as I took a deep breath. Sometimes, I hate the fact that I almost look exactly alike as my mom. Now, I also fear my life as well.

When one of the men saw me coming, he smiled right away. I bit my lower lip and tried to calm down. I shouldn't let them see that I am nervous. I hope they didn't see me as I overheard what they were talking to themselves a while ago.

"Hello, miss."

"Hi, sir. Good evening. This is your order for table seven."

I put the glasses on the table and some bottles of alcoholic drinks that they've ordered without looking at their faces. But I am sure that they were fixing their eyes on me.

"You know what, miss? You are resembling someone I knew very well," He grinned as he held my arm.
