Her Destined Ride — Chapter 53: LOVE MOVES

Sunny's POV

"I guess you have mistaken, sir."

"No. I am sure I'm not. You look exactly like Lilian Grainger." I swallowed as he could sense the horror in my eyes. I awkwardly smiled and bowed down to excuse myself. I tried letting go of his hand that held my arm. However, I felt it was gripping my arm tightly.

"Can you stay here for a while?"

"What are you doing to my ladies?" Miss Lydia suddenly appeared in front of me out of nowhere. I suddenly felt relieved. I wanted to kiss and hug her tight from saving me from them.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was just asking a question from her." One of the men answered in a defensive manner.

"Sunny, go back to your post. I will talk to them." I bowed down to excuse myself and left them. But then I can see that man staring at me from my peripheral vision.

I got puzzled all of a sudden. Does mom know him in the first place? Why did he say that to those men?

I served more tables until I could excuse myself to some of the people who also worked there.

I got upstairs and sneaked to the main office of the restaurant. I remembered Ms. Lydia has a telephone on her table. I need to call mom to at least warn her what's happening beyond her reach.

I touched the phone and picked up the speaker as I leaned my mouth near the receiver. I looked around to observe if there were movements going on.

I am torn between the feeling of being scared and anxious right now. I'm afraid to be caught but I have to call mom to tell her to take extra care of herself just in case.

I dialled the phone using the number of Mr. Athkinson's residence by means of turning the dialler, rotating it clockwise.

"C'mon, c'mon…" I muttered as I waited on the other line. It was ringing endlessly. My heart started to race because I felt like it's taking forever for someone to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Can I speak to Lilian Grainger, please?"

"Speaking. What is it?"

It was mom! I bit my lower lip and I twitched when I could hear some footsteps going in the office.

"I just want you to take care of yourself. Please. Some people were thinking bad about you."

"Su—" I ended the call right away because I can hear the doorknob twitching. I hurriedly ran under the table, still disoriented and nervous.

I heard heavy footsteps as it went near the table I'm under with, and it became silent for a few minutes. I felt like the world had stopped as well at that very moment.

"Miss Lydia, I have to show you something." One of my colleagues went straight to her.

"My, you almost killed me with a heart attack. Can't you knock first?"

"Miss, the door is open I went straight in. I am so sorry,"

"Alright. Point taken. By the way, where is Sunny?"

"I remembered seeing her going to the comfort room a while ago."

I felt the footsteps going outside as Miss Lydia closed the door behind her. I sighed in relief. I looked around and I glanced at the telephone I used a while ago. Good thing I was able to place it to its original position before Miss Lydia opened the door of her office.

I slowly opened the door again and closed it behind me. I tiptoed from the hallway, going down to the comfort room. I must be grateful for that colleague of mine who just saved the day! I remembered entering the comfort room before I went to Miss Lydia's office. I guess the odds are really in my favor this time around.

"Hello? Sunny? Is this you? What is it all about? Hello?" Lilian insisted as she held on to the speaker of the telephone like she's holding to her dear life.

She knew that voice! She couldn't make a mistake because she knew her daughter very well. Why did she call her only to say those words to her?

If Sunny was really her caller a while ago, it was weird that instead of telling her she misses her so much, she got a message that served as a warning for her.

She closed her eyes as she massaged her forehead. She couldn't even think straight because of what happened a while ago. She needed to find her daughter by all means or she would really end up crazy.

She went downstairs and she was greeted by Mr. Athkinson. She hugged him tight as she told him that she needed two more personal bodyguards. After telling what happened, Mr. Athkinson supported her idea.

They even tried searching Sunny in Tyler's house with the help of Ms. Marlyn. It happened hours before Sunny went away from her. They went home empty-handed. Even Tyler couldn't tell them where she was because she didn't know where she'd been this time around.

Tyler already searched everywhere around town. However, there's this saying that if someone doesn't want to be seen, he/,she will not be found forever.

"Tyler, I will never ever do it again to my precious daughter. I will let her choose her dreams as soon as I will find her."

"Let's be hopeful, Mrs. Athkinson. Everything will be fine. Let's be positive to see her soonest." Tyler said as she hugged Lilian. Miss Marlyn also tapped both of her shoulders to comfort her as she sobs.

I will also show her what she really meant to me this time around...Tyler just kept these words to himself. He realized that Sunny is just no ordinary friend to him the moment she went missing.

He knew deep within him that this feeling that he has towards her is far different from what he felt from other people who showed interest in him.

He knew she was special but when she's gone all of a sudden, everything just felt so right. It's the feeling she kept denying for a long time that he has defined it in a different perspective. Now, it got clearer to him. It is love and he is sure of it.
