Her Destined Ride — Chapter 59: COME BACK INTO LOVE

Sunny's POV

I was still sleeping beside Tyler when somebody woke me up.

"Mom?"

"Dear, you have to go home this time. You also have to take a bath and rest. We'll take care of him." She said in a calm way. I can't help but become emotional again. It's been more than 24 hours since he has undergone his operation.

"Please don't be stubborn, dear. Follow what I said to you."

I am feeling bad because his vitals are not even changing.

"No! I have to stay beside him. I have to witness the time when he will wake up." I cried. Mom hugged me right away. I can even feel that she is massaging my back.

"Dear, please follow me this time. You haven't eaten for a day now. Please?"

"But, mom…"

"Let me ask you, what do you think Tyler would feel if he will see you being like this?"

I hugged her even tighter this time. She had a point. I have to also take care of myself because I am very sure that Tyler will scold me. I turned my back as I looked at him.

"Okay, mom. I will just get my things and go back here right away."

"Take a good rest."

"What if Tyler will wake up any minute by now?"

"We will call you as soon as possible, dear."

I nodded. I rushed home as fast as I could, not thinking twice. However, as soon as I reached home, Mr. Athkinson blocked my way.

"Dear...I just received a call that Tyler is awake now." He told me as she tapped my shoulder. However, I could see that the reaction of Mr. Athkinson is a bit hesitant. Is he not planning to tell me everything?

"Mr. Athkinson, I will go back. He needs me."

"Not so fast, Sunny."

"Why?"

He held both of my arms as he welled up with tears.

"Your mom and I came into a decision to let you marry the son of the hospital, to clear Tyler's bills. His mom told me that they couldn't find the money to pay for his medication."

I was too shocked I didn't even move a bit. I tried processing everything that Mr. Athkinson said. However, whenever I remembered the time that Tyler saved my life from those gunshots, I closed my fist and sighed. I inhaled deeply as I tried my best to stop the tears that's about to fall from my eyes.

"Is Tyler really okay, Mr. Athkinson?"

He nodded. I can also see the sadness in his eyes. I know Mr. Athkinson didn't want this because they already promised me to stop the arranged marriage ideas. They clearly knew I was against it from the very start.

"I will do it, Mr. Athkinson." He hugged me right away as I didn't suppress anything to him anymore. I cried harder and for the first time in my life, I felt the love of a father in him.

The wedding preparations took nearly four months because they also have to deal with their son's attitude. I have heard from my parents that their son is always busy. He doesn't care about almost anyone.

I am in my white wedding gown now. Two women did my make-up and hairstyle. I wore my hair straight, with curls on its tips. I also got a small tiara of sparkling gold.

I faced myself in the mirror. This is supposed to be the happiest day of my life. I should be happy at my own wedding. However, I felt different. The realest feeling today is I felt like many people will bury me alive today. This fact is even making me feel worse. I missed Tyler already. I haven't seen him since the day he woke up. I've heard that he went away to another city to improve his condition.

Mom and Mr. Athkinson also advised me to stop seeing him. It's the worst thing ever. I felt like dying today with no one to even share how I really feel.

"Sunny, dear? How are you?"

"Mom, you're joking, right?" I chuckled bitterly as I gazed at her face.

"I even wanted to wish you the best, dear. I hope you will find the happiness that you desire from the man you're going to marry."

I cried in front of her and she scolded me for causing my make up to smudge. They redo it again. This time, I tried to calm myself. This wedding is more than a surprise birthday party. Because I am against everything, I didn't even attend to the preparations and motifs.

I am too tired to stress out those things I didn't even like and plan in the first place. We arrived at the church and everybody was standing in awe with the sight of me.

"She's so beautiful." I could hear someone whispering to a lady behind her. I guess they're the guy's relatives.

Everything is a joke. Imagine? I realized I didn't even know whom to marry because I am showing little to no interest at all. I slowly walked on the aisle as the wedding song started to play.

I am three meters closer when I can see my groom wiping his tears as he removed his glasses. I blinked three times before I realized who was my soon-to-be husband.

"T-Tyler?" I gasped as I put my hand on my mouth. He just grinned and held my other hand tight.

"How, what, why?"

"That isn't the correct way of using -wh questions. It should be one at a time." I hugged him tight as I cried again.

"Is it too late to propose?"

"The heck you already made me wear a wedding gown, prepared this wedding and invited so many people. You're even putting a ring on me, leaving me with no choice and you're still asking that?" He just laughed a little. The minister started the solemn ceremony between the two of us.

"Do you take this man, be your lawfully wedded husband? Through ups and downs of life, In sickness and health, and till death do you part?"

"Yes, I do."
