Her Destined Ride — Chapter 57: FELIZIA'S RETURN

Sunny's POV

His reaction while looking at me is too serious, I think I couldn't handle it.

"What is it?" I smiled because I've never seen him so serious like this before. He blinked as he avoided my gaze. He looked awkward for real.

"What?" I chuckled. I could see him clearing his throat as he looked at me again.

"W-What is it that you have to tell me?"

"You're unfair. I asked you first." I can't help but laugh when he hugged me from behind.

"I just want to thank you for the letter…" He said as he looked down. He's being two awkward now I don't know what to say.

"Really? Is that it? Looks like you will tell me anything other than that." I convinced him a little more. However, a wicked smile formed his lips.

"I guess you'll have to tell me. I always believe that it is more courteous to allow ladies first." I scratched my head as I looked at him.

Sometimes, I hate this part of him. He's a pushover sometimes but he tends to be lax as well.

I sat on one of my favorite roots of this tree where we're standing. He followed me as well, he even leaned closer.

"I want you to know that you must be extra careful nowadays." He sounded more of warning me.

"Can we not think about it often? Overthinking is bad sometimes, you are always scared all the time."

"Well, prevention is better than cure," I stopped him. If only he knew how scared I am when I heard those men talking about my mom.

"Okay. I will always keep it in mind." He said, finally with a sigh. I stood up and he lifted his head right away.

"Where are you going?"

"I am going home. I am sticking to my curfew time today," His facial expression became sullen all of a sudden. "Why? Is there anything else you want to tell me?"

My heart almost sank when we both heard gunshots. We suddenly crawl to the ground. I felt Tyler grabbed me by my waist as he pulled me closer to him. I could feel we're both sweating, cold and I am almost shivering with fear.

"Sunny...I love you." He whispered, enough for me to hear. My tears welled up as I looked into his face.

"I..." I replied but I guess he never heard of it because of the gunshots that's intended for both of us. It's like the gunman is just firing to where we are. A few minutes later, the place became quiet. He told me to go behind the tree so that I will be safer.

"What about you?" I cried, almost hugging him. He smiled but I noticed the blood going out from his mouth.

"Tyler!" I cried but he tried his best to cover my mouth. I cried even more but it was suppressed because it's what he wanted to do.

"Please...save yourself." His voice is almost fading. I looked around and I could feel that the gunman already left, assuming he already killed us. The rain of bullets fired at us was unimaginable a while ago.

"Please wait here. I will be right back. I will ask for help. Please hang on!" I rushed downhill and ran as fast as I could, wrestling dusk. Few lamp posts were lit and it made me feel worse. Every minute counts, literally. I shouldn't go wrong with this. As I ran in between the pavement of the road, I felt like somebody was following me. The headlight of the car started to shine right on my back.

I turned around as the car slowly went past me from behind.

It was the corvette 1957! Why did it appear right in front of me after nearly two years? How is it even possible? The window of the car slowly opened. I saw a familiar figure until I realized it was Felizia, but her younger version. I can say she's much older than me, probably seven to eight years or more than that.

"C'mon, you never want to be late for your speech, right?"

"S-Speech?" I am torned between puzzled and sad. She just grinned and looked at me.

"No! I will not go with you!" I cried, stepping back. She followed me as I ran towards Tyler. I shouldn't leave him because I know he needed me the most. I can feel that the car is still following me.

"This car only passed once a year. This year will be the last." I stopped running as soon as I heard her. Last year? What does it mean? If I would not go with Felizia today, there will be a possibility that I will be stuck here forever?

I looked at her again as she smiled back at me. It means I have my own choice. I could go back to the future and treat this as a bad dream after all. In the future, I am a woman with confidence. I am happy and more satisfied with my life. In where I am going, I am a powerful and well-known person of the society. I don't have to work too hard to prove myself to anyone anymore.

I will not hear from Laila's judgement of me in failing in life. In the future, I am Miss Sunny G. Everyone admires me for being great at almost everything.

I know, if I will go with Felizia, everything that happened within this two-year duration will be nothing but a bad dream. I am sure of that.

"Here…"

"What's this?" I opened the strip of paper he gave me. I was quite annoyed because I am in the middle of cramming and here he is, giving me another phrase to unscramble.

"Please solve that."

"You're making me think that I am not good at this. You know I can't even read, right?" With raised eyebrows, I shoved that stripped of paper to him. He inserted it in between the favorite book I am reading.

"Sunny...I love you." He whispered, enough for me to hear.

I opened my eyes and sighed. I cried once more as I began to open my mouth.

"Felizia, please help me bring Tyler to the nearest hospital."

"Are you sure? I will still ask you again for the last time, though." She said as if she's asking for a confirmation.

"Yes. This is the only thing I want right now."
