Small Town Girl — Chapter 42

It has been two months now that Mia was discharged from the hospital, she is fine now and she can walk very well and she has started going to school.

Nick really try his best for us and I am very grateful for that, he is the one taking care of Mia till she was able to walk, you can't say that he is not Mia's biological father.

Before he went back home, he asks me again about giving him another chance to be his girlfriend. I told him that I am scared that he will hurt me again and he said we should start with just being a friend and he hopes we should be more than that and I said yes.

He said "Bella, can you join me for a drink?" I look at him and did not say anything "I know you may find it creepy or awkward but Bella, I am trying my best for you to give 'us' a chance and let's be together" He stands up from his seat and holds my hand "Bella, I can't live without you and my kids" He added.

"I know Nick, you have tried your best to show me that you want us back I have started having feelings for you, you show us love and care, you take care of Mia as if she is your own daughter which I never expected to happen. You buy me a lot of gifts, you support me and encourage me in everything I do, you know what to say to me whenever I am sad and did your best in changing my perspective towards you but I am scared. What if you hurt me again? What if your parent said they don't want me as their daughter-in-law and you also decide to do what your parents want? What if ……… " he pulled me towards him and connected his lips with mine, I can feel the tingling sensation throughout my body.

"My parent can't choose for me, I know what I want. As for me please don't say that she is like my daughter, She is my daughter and nothing can change that. Please don't be scared, I know what you have been through with your ex and I have also hurt you, please forgive me" He looked at me and hold my hand. "What about we start as friends?"

Friends? I don't know if I am ready for any relationship. 'Why don't you let your fear aside and try something new with him' I remember my best friend Annie's words

"Bella" He called me and brought me out of my thought "You have not given an answer to my question".

"Ok" I said silently looking at my feet, I hope my feeling for him does not hurt me again.

"What is ok?" I look at him and nod my head "Did you mean you want to give us a chance" I nodded my head again looking at my hand.

"Thank you so much" He hugs me tightly and kisses my forehead

Since the time I accepted to give us a chance, he has been more caring and lovely toward me, he came to check us frequently, he takes me out for dinner or lunch, and sometimes all of us with the kids. I am so happy for the moment we have together, I hope this happiness last longer.

NICK P.O.V

Since the day Bella has agreed for us to be together, I am so happy since then. I want us to be more than a friend but I don't mind taking it slowly.

I am preparing of taking Bella for a date because it has been almost four months now that she has been decided to friend with me and I can see that she is opening up to me little by little.

I am in Florida now shopping for a nice dress and reserve a nice restaurant to take her to, I want to get everything ready before she comes back. I hope she did not reject me because I am thinking of proposing to her to be my girlfriend and I want us to be official before my son's first birthday which is in two months to this time.

"Nancy, how are you?" I greet my kid's nanny as soon as she opens the door for me.

"I am fine sir," She said

"Uncle Nick" Mia screams as she saw me walking to the living room and Max is also crawling towards me.

"How are you, my beautiful princess? I carried both of them on my lap and I also make a funny face at Max which earns me a beautiful smile from him with his little teeth.

"I am fine, I miss you so much," She said

I explained all that I am planning for Bella to Nancy and I plead with her to stay with the kids till we come back and she agreed.

BELLA P.O.V

I thank God for today's work because it is not really stressful, my boss has employed more people to help. Since I am not tired today, I want to take the kids out.

"How are you, Nancy? I hope the kids did not disturb you today?" I asked her

"No at all, they are good," She said smiling widely as I am talking to her

"You can go home now, I am taking the kids out" What she said next surprised me.

"But you are going out with Mr. Nick" She handed me a big box

"Nick? As in Nick comes back and where is he?" I asked her

"Yes, and he told me that I should stay with the kids till you both come back home" She looking at me and still smiling, I think she knows something.

"Where did he tell you that we are going? I look at the box in my hand and open it.

She said she doesn't know and I open the box to found a beautiful dress, heel sandal with a matching purse and a beautiful silver earring. I also saw a note "Pick you up at 7pm"

I went to my room and put the stuff on my bed and I take my seat on the bed looking at the box.

To be sincere, all those things are beautiful but I don't know what to do, this is not the first time that Nick will take me out for lunch or dinner but this is the first time he will buy a dress for me like and invite me to go out with him.

I don't know what to do, should I go or not?
