Small Town Girl — Chapter 37

I wake up to a knock on the door. I get up and see who is there.

"Nick, I have finished preparing food please come and eat because you did not have anything for breakfast," Mrs. Davis said

"I am fine, I am not hungry," I said

"Nick, please don't do like this to yourself," She said

"I am fine, Mrs. Davis. I am going to Florida to find them I am just waiting for my friend's call" I said

After that, she left and I am the only one in the house now, I went out and sat beside the poolside reminiscing about the last time we were here.

One month later

I still have not heard anything about them. I went to Florida the next day but all my findings were all in vain. I stayed there for two days before I went back home.

Sometimes I sleep in my office because I feel lonely when I get home, not seeing Mia running to greet me after work, not seeing Bella at home baking snacks for us and my son playing with me makes me so sad.

"Nick, please stop thinking about it, you will find them," Mrs. Davis said to me

"When will I find them? It's been a month now I don't know what to do" I said

"Sitting here will not do any good for you, it will make you sad," She said

I always sit by the poolside to remember the last good time we have here, I should know that she is planning something when she plays with us inside the pool.

After some minutes of sitting at the poolside, I receive a call from my friend telling me that he finds Bella, immediately I stand up and make my way up to my room and take all the necessary things I need, and head to the airport.

After some hours I landed at Florida airport, I saw my friend and he drove me to a hotel and told me all that he finds about Bella, all that I hear makes me sad.

He said Bella is working as a secretary in the morning after she drops her daughter in school and works as a cleaner in a restaurant at night, he said she leaves her kids for her neighbor till she comes back from work.

I did not know what to say after what he told me because I feel sad about hearing that. He gave me the address of where she is staying. I stand up immediately and walk out of the hotel room and get a cab, I gave the cab driver the address and he drives off.

I check the time and it is already night time. She will be around by now, the cab driver parks in front of an old building and tells me that is the address, I pay him and said thanks.

I walk toward the house and head straight to her apartment, I knock on the door and a woman opens the door for me.

"Please how can I help you?" She said

"Please I am looking for Bella," I said and she looks at me up and down.

"She has not yet come back from work but she will soon come anytime from now maybe you can come back," She said

"Ok, thanks" She closed the door after what I said

I sit in a corner not far from her door in case she enters. I will see her.

15 minutes after she came and she opened the door and after some minutes the woman left, I walked up to her door and knocked on the door, a moment later she opened it and looked at me and close it back.

"Bella, please open the door" I keep banging on the door

"What did you want?" She asked

"Please Bella let me explain, it is not what you think," I said

"Then how is it? Planning to take my son away from me?" She said and closes the door on me again

"Bella please let me explain, it is just a misunderstanding," I said

She opens the door and I enter, immediately Mia sees me She runs up to me and hugs me, I carry her and hug her.

"I missed you so my princess," I said to her

"I miss you too, have you come to take us because mama say you travel," Mia said

"Yes, my princess I have come now we are going back home," I said to her

I ask her where her brother is and she said he is sleeping, Bella told her to go to her room and that she wants to talk to me.

"Bella, please what you heard is not what you think, I lie to my parent because I don't want them to hurt you," I said

"No problem, it is not that we have any relationship between us, I already want to leave your house, I think the time has come now. In the beginning, you already told me that you don't have anything to do with us. Please leave me and my kids alone" I can see the sadness in her face.

"Please I really want us to have a relationship together, I can't live without the three of you, please forgive me, I told my parents that I want to marry you with or without their permission. Please Bella let's go back home, the house is empty without you guys" I beg her trying to hold my tears.

"I am sorry, I and my kids are fine. Please get out and don't look for us anymore" She opens the door for me to go out

I went out but I will still come back for them, I will beg her till she forgives me.

I call Nate and Natalie and I told them that I found Bella and I explained everything that happened between us to them, they said I should keep on trying till she forgives me if I still want her.

I return to my hotel room to think of what to do next.

BELLA P.O.V

When we settled down inside the plane, I sent the message to Natalie and Annie, immediately Annie saw the message, she called and she screamed at me and asked me where I was going, I told her that I am going to Florida. She asked if I have someone there and I said no.

She said if I land I should let her, she threatened me that if I did not call her when I landed she would hunt me down and punish me.

After 5-6 hours of the long flight, I called Annie and she told me that I should wait for someone to come and pick me. She also gives me a number that I should call the person that he will employ me. When the person comes and picks us. I talk to her and she drops me in front of a hotel and lodges us there, she told me that Annie has already paid the bill.

Instead of wasting the money for the hotel, I asked the lady that came to pick us that if I can get a cheap apartment to rent, she said she will call some agent for me but I should lodge in for today because of my kids that they must be tired. Before she left I took her number and said she should not forget me about the apartment.

After we got settled in the hotel room, the next day Annie called me and I explained everything to her. She first gets angry at me that if I want to do such things, I should have informed her. I apologized to her and she said ok.

She told me that Nick had called her but she did not tell him that we are in Florida.

"Nick called me but I did not tell her that you are in Florida but he knows that you are in Florida," She said

"How did he know? I asked Annie

"He said he finds out at the airport with the help of his friend that is working there" She explained

"This guy has a bipolar problem, he is the one that is planning with his parent now he is looking for me," I said

"He explained everything to me, he said that he just said that to his parents for them not to hurt you because his parents want him to marry a good girl from a good background. He said he will go to his parent house and tell them that you are the one that he wants whether they like it or not"

"I don't care whether he went to his parent place or not," I said to her

"I think he likes you because of the way he is talking to me. Bella, what did you think about him? Did you have any feelings for him?" She asked

"I did not have anything for him" I lied to Annie, the way he takes care of me when I am pregnant, he really shows me that he wants me after I heard what he told his parent, I am so hurt but now everything has fly out.

"Stop lying to me because I know you very well, I know you are afraid because of how Jack behaves with you. Why don't you give him a chance but don't let your guard down" I don't know what to do

Should I give him a chance?
