Small Town Girl — Chapter 15

The next day which is Sunday I wake up and said my morning prayer then check the time, it is 11 am, wow I slept for so long, I went to the bathroom to take a shower and do all the necessary things to do and I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast before Mia wakes up.

After I finish preparing breakfast, I checked the time and see that anytime from now Mia will wake up, so I decided to set the table, soon I feel a small cute arm wrapped around my waist.

"Good morning mommy," She said

"Good morning my little princess, how are you?" I bend down, pick her up and put her on my hips

"I am fine mummy, I am hungry," She said and kisses me on my cheek

"Ok, I have prepared your favorite pancake, so now you have to brush your teeth, take a shower and change your clothes," She said ok and I drop her on the floor then follow her to the bathroom to take a shower for her.

After like 30 minutes of doing everything because we had a fight in the bathroom because she said she wants to brush her teeth by herself and I said no.

After we finish eating our breakfast I on the TV for her to watch cartoon after that I go back to the kitchen to clean all the dished and I prepare food for us for next week because tomorrow there is school and am going to work, I make food that will sustain us till one week and store them in the freezer, the reason why I do that is that sometime when I come back from work I might be tired and I can't starve my daughter because am tired so that is why I prepared the food, after that, I bake a cake, cookies, biscuit, and some doughnut.

When I am done in the kitchen I sit beside Mia and we watch the cartoon together and I give her doughnuts and juice. Later my phone rings and I checked the caller ID and it is Natalie, I pick it up and she thanks me for yesterday and I told her that she is always welcome, soon we talk a lot more and we hang up.

I ask Mia if she likes to go out and she said yes, I just want to have a nice time with my daughter, I get dressed for her and she said she wants to go to the playground, when we get there I bought all the tickets of the things she wants and she plays a lot and I even snap her picture and make some videos. Later she said she want to eat pizza and I take her to eat pizza, soon we went to the park that is close to our house and she plays a lot and I sit on a chair watching her. Later she said again that she wants to eat ice cream and I get it for her, then we went home and fresh up then we eat dinner and went to bed.

The next day, as usual, I make my morning prayer then to the bathroom to take shower, I prepare Mia's lunch bag and I went to wake her up, I also take shower for her, we eat our breakfast and we go out, first to Mia's school to drop her, then to my workplace.

"Good morning sir" I greet my boss because am in front of him in his office right now, he calls me on the intercom that he wants me in his office

"Good morning Bella, how are doing and how's Mia?" he said

"We are doing great," I said to him

Then he assigned some work for me and I left his office, as am about to sit down on my chair to do the work my boss assigned to me, I see that the elevator open and comes out a  handsome guy dressed in a black Armani suit and the perfume he used to smell nice. 'shut up idiot' my subconscious said

"Good morning Bella" the voice brought me out of my thought

"Good morning sir, how may I help you?" As soon as I look at the person's face turn out to be Nick, my boss friend that I met yesterday at my boss son's birthday party

"I want you to give me your phone number," he said

"Ok" After I said ok then I realized what he said and I look at his face maybe I hear him wrong.

"Sir what did you just say?" I look at him

"Never mind, is my friend around," I said yes and quickly pick up the intercom to tell my boss that his friend wants to see him and he said I should let him enter

"Please you can go in" Then I follow him and I open the door for him

He wants my number but I think since he knows that I am a single mother he will not talk to me again, maybe he made a mistake it is another thing he wants to say.

Some moment later my boss and his friend come out and he said goodbye to me and both of them went away.

When it is time for me to get off work, I pack my things and say goodbye to Anna and she is also preparing to go, I went to Mia school and pick her up but when we stand by the roadside, I saw a nice car park in front of us I don't know the name of the car because I am not used to cars and if they did not write the name in front of it I can recognize the car, it is not my fault, it is part of being poor, soon the passenger side glass rolled down and I saw Nick, I don't want to be rude to him and Mia is beside me so I bend down by the car door and greet him, he said I should come inside to drop us off but I said no that we will soon see a cab, he tries to convince but I said no and I say thank you, he said ok and drove off, after some minutes of waiting we see a cab and we went home straight.
