Small Town Girl — Chapter 27

NICK P.O.V

It has been a long time since I last saw Bella, Nate told me to try and go and check on her but since I am not interested in her, I just visit her twice a month since then I did not go there again.

I continue my life but sometimes I remember her most especially when I have a girl to warm my bed in at night I always remember that night I had sex with her because of that I stop having sex with girls for some time, after some months I continue because I need it but when I am with any lady I always feel like it is Bella that is underneath me, why am I feeling this way? I don't know.

My secretary called me that Nate wants to see me, shit, I am in the middle of something good on my desk right now, I told her to tell him to wait for me, I quickly round-up with the sexy girl on my desk and told her that we will meet later tonight.

"How far buddy?" I stand up to greet Nate and we both sit down on the sofa in front of my desk

"When will you stop your playboy life? When you knock up Bella instead of you to be with her and solve things out" Nate said

"I have already made my decision about Bella I don't love her and I am not ready to be a father when there are a lot of girls outside to have fun with I will now tie myself down with one girl" I stand up to get a drink for me and Nate

"No problem, if that is your decision. The reason why I am here today is because of Bella" Nate said

"What happened to her? Is she sick? Is she in pain? Is she alright" Why am I behaving as if I am her husband, I just care nothing else.

"Calm down Nick, she is alright. Now she is now 7 months pregnant and she hardly does anything by herself and her friend is so busy that she can come for some time, so I am thinking maybe you should let her stay in your place for some time till she gives birth after she gives birth and fine she will go back to her place" Nate said

"What!! Impossible, no way, she can't stay with me" I said all in one go.

"I know but you have to let her please, I offer her to stay in our place but she said no that she is fine, the last time I saw her she is now heavy, she hardly do anything again she is getting weak and tired day by day but Bella is Bella she will not let anybody know what she is going through, it is Natalie that send food to her sometimes. If she is with you, your maid can cook for her and she will have someone to talk to. Just see it as if you are helping a stranger" Nate said

"Ok, but only till she gave birth after that she will get out," I said

"Yes thank you, buddy"

Two days after Nate came to my office, he called me in the morning that they are going to Bella's place and they want me to follow them because they have not told her about moving to my place for some time, I said ok he should let me know the time they are going.

When we got to her house, Natalie called her and she said she is coming from the hospital and on her way to pick her daughter from school. If she is my wife or I am in love with her I suppose to be with her in the hospital. 'It is not too late you can still join her for another checkup' my subconscious said.

Later she arrives inside a cab and Natalie walks to her and hugs her. Her bump is now big and she looks tired, her face that looked smooth and beautiful before is now dull, is this how women look during pregnancy?

She walks straight inside and Natalie follows her, I don't think she sees me. Nate carries her daughter and they are playing together. We walk into her apartment and she is about to close the door when I walk in front of her, the expression on her face looks like 'what are you doing here?'

"Hi" I said to her and she also replies to me and walks away after she closes the door

She told Nate that he should put her daughter down to first go and wash her hand and she will prepare for her something to eat. When she wants to stand up Natalie helps her up and asks her where she is going, she said she wants to bring something for us to drink or eat. 'Idiot, you should be the one help her up' my mind said

Later she returns with cupcakes and orange juice with Natalie behind her, Nate picks one and puts it in his mouth and he says I should also eat it that I will love it. I said ok and pressed my phone just to make myself occupied.

Nate come and sit beside me and give me one cupcake, he said I should eat and I can see that Bella and Natalie are looking at us and I don't want to hurt her again I collect from him and eat it, it is so nice and it melts inside my mouth after that I take another one because it is so nice.

Nate told her that she will move to my place because she needs someone beside her but she said she is good here if she needs anything she will call Nate or Natalie, she did not even mention my name that she will call me 'Are you hurt or jealous because she did not mention your name' my subconscious said

'Yes I am hurt, at least I am the one responsible for the pregnancy' I thought

'You made it clear to her that you don't need the baby and you are not ready to be a father' my subconscious said

"I am fine here, I am good I don't need anybody's help or pity" I hear her said, she refers to me as anybody

"Bella your due date is near if you go into labor at midnight, who will you call? Nate asked her

"I will call you brother or I call the ambulance" They are even referring their self as brother and sister, that is nice

"No Bella, that is final. You will follow Nick, just for the main time till you gave birth, after that you can come back to your place, please you need someone beside you now" Natalie said

She did not say anything, Natalie changes the topic and they are talking about another thing. When it is time to go I told Bella that she should be ready by the weekend that I will come and pick her up.

NATALIE P.O.V.

"I wish our plan work out, maybe they can come together and mend things between themselves," I said to Nate we are in the car going home

"When I went to his office two days ago, if you see the way he reacts when I told him that I am here because of Bella, he said what happened to her? Is she sick? Is she in pain? Is she alright? I told him to calm down that she is alright" Nate said while driving

"I think Nick likes her but he has not realized that I hope he will know what he is missing when Bella stay with her," I said

We plan to let Bella stay in Nick's house, maybe they will fall in love with each other. Whenever I see Nick or he visits us in our house and I try to mention Bella's name in front of him, his reaction is something else that I don't understand. He will try to listen to what I want to say about her but he will not ask about her. That is strange. I hope our plan works out.
