Lily Hates Me: A Love Story — Chapter 9

"Who is Keira?" Lily asked after we walked away from Marco.

Keira White, the girl who almost became my girlfriend last year, was tall, curvy with a pretty round face and big brown eyes. I met her through Trayce, another friend of mine. She was his sister.

We dated for almost 4 months, much longer than most girls I've ever been with. She caught feelings for me during those times and asked me to be her boyfriend. I almost considered it, but then I realized, the passion between us dimmed down already and even she couldn't fill the empty void in my heart. I suggested remaining friends since I still cared for her.

"A friend of mine, don't worry about it," I tell Lily.

"Jacob! You are here!" I hear a deep throaty voice call out my name. Speak of the devil...

"Hey, Keira." was all I said.

She ran up to me and planted a kiss on my cheeks and hugged me tightly.

"I've missed you," she whispered in my ear.

I didn't say anything and hugged her back but let go of her immediately.

She looked at Lily and made a face. "And who is this?"

I cleared my throat. I had to be careful. Keira was the type to get jealous and she never held her tongue. One of the traits I admired about her but I couldn't let her lash out on Lily.

"Keira? this is Lily...Lily? Keira."

"Nice to meet you," Lily said sweetly.

Keira looked at her up down and didn't smile. I could tell she had a hundred thoughts going through her head.

"What is she doing here Jacob? She doesn't look like your usual type," she demanded.

"She is my date, now if you'll excuse me we are gonna go dance." With that, I took Lily by her hand and dragged her to the middle of the room. I could feel Keira's eyes burning a hole in my neck.

"Um...what are you doing?" Lily asked, she was caught off guard by my sudden interest in dancing.

"Trying to dance with my date, this is a party isn't it?" I replied

"I didn't peg you as the type that can dance, I thought your number one hobby is to torture innocent kids from our school and forcing girls to date them," she said in a serious expression.

"Ouch! That hurts my soul. I'm a man of many talents. Now watch and learn," I said, and gave her a slow twirl. I caught her waist and we turned and swayed with the music.

"You are a good dancer," she said.

I pulled her closer, her body felt warm and inviting. She smelled like Jasmine and it was making my mind cloudy. I stared into her eyes and inched closer, our lips almost touching.

"I...I need to get something to drink, I'll be right back," she said quickly and broke free of my arms. She left me all alone wanting more.

So close...she is making it very difficult for me to seduce her.

I felt a soft touch on my shoulder and turned around thinking she came back but it was Keira.

"Why are you wasting your time with a girl like that?" she said.

"Girl like what?" I challenged.

"Those cutesy skinny bitch type. They don't care about guys like you. She just wants to go out with you so she can experience the thrill of dating a bad boy. She'll discard you for some preppy kid after she is bored with you. Just like that," Keira snapped her fingers to emphasize what she just said.

"She is not like that, plus I was the one asked her and I'm the one decides who ends it," I said dismissively.

She stared hard into my eyes. "I saw the way you looked at her," her eyes were burning with jealousy.

"Look Keira, it's nothing, I'm only playing with her. I just thought it would be fun to mess with an innocent girl for once. Anyways, I don't owe you any explanations, we are just friends." I said.

Keira didn't answer and just grabbed my neck and pushed her lips hard on my mouth. Before I could react, she pushed her tongue inside my mouth and started to make out with me." I was shell shocked at first and couldn't move for a sec, then I pushed her off of me.

"Did that kiss feel like we are just friends? I know you miss having sex with me Jacob, why don't we go back to the way things were? I miss you." She whispered.

I proceed to answer her but paused when I saw Lily standing behind her. She saw everything.

Fuck... I don't want her to get the wrong impression.

Lily stood there watching us intently. Her usual bright blue eyes were dark and full of unknown emotions. She turned around quickly and left the room.

"Thanks a lot!" I glared at Keira and ran after Lily.
