Lily Hates Me: A Love Story · Angela Lynn Carver
Chapter 19
Read online · About 5 minutesMy injuries weren't completely healed but I was able to go to school again and resume my normal activities. I had to take it easier since rough movement hurt like a bitch. That means no more manhandling or beating up nerdy kids. Not that I was doing that anymore anyway. Despite my same old miserable home-life, I was much happier thanks to Lily. My girlfriend. The word girlfriend still seemed foreign to me but I was slowly getting used to it.
Lily ignored all of my protests and was constantly worrying about me and taking care of me. She brought me food every day, each time it tasted like heaven. I was getting spoiled.
So this is what it's like to be cared for, I thought.
I convinced her not to step foot at my house ever again. I had to protect her from my father. He was a predator and Lily was the perfect victim. If he ever did anything to her I would kill him for real. I mostly met up with her at her house.
On Monday, I went over to her house to work on a school project. I was not a bad student, far from it, but I figured I'd rather spend time with her and do it than be alone in my home. I rang the doorbell and was face to face with Valencia.
"Mr. Jacob," she said.
"Val! You look absolutely stunning this afternoon!." I beamed. I knew she hated me and it was my pleasure to mess with her every time I saw her.
"Save your compliments for Lily Mr. Jacob," she said. Her face showed she was all business and she had no time to deal with my bullshit.
But I wasn't going to back down so easily. "Oh come on, Lily is pretty and all but you...you are just radiant!"
Val squinted her eyes at me in annoyance but her lips curled into a small smile.
"Lily is upstairs," she said and I expected her to walk away but she stood there and looked at me intently. "I need to tell you something," she said.
"What is it? Are you going to give me another speech about how I'm not good enough to be Lily's boyfriend or is it about how I'm a bad influence on her?" I asked, challenging her with my eyes.
"I wanted to tell you this is the first time in a long time since she has been this happy. And it is all because of you." she smiled.
I felt like I fell asleep and woke up in a bizarro world. Valencia is actually complimenting me!
"I raised Lily as my own since her mother died and she was generally a happy child but her whole life she put others before her. Especially Ryan," she paused and took a deep breath. "Ryan has always been a sickly kid. Lily spent her whole childhood taking care of him. But when I saw you make her laugh and the way her eyes lit up, I realized I've misjudged you. You are a good kid." she said.
I've been described as many things but a good kid was a first.
"Thank you Valencia," I said quietly.
She directed me upstairs to Lily's room. I went inside and sat on her bed. She had the girliest room I've ever seen. Keira was right about one thing, Lily was definitely the cutesy type, the kind I usually stayed away from. Who knew I would fall head over heels for someone like that?
I looked around the room and was looking at a framed picture of Lily when she was little. She was a tiny little girl with a head full of messy curls and rosy cheeks.
So cute... I thought and smiled.
"Ugh! Put that pic down, so embarrassing!" I almost dropped the picture when I heard her voice.
"What, this?" I asked. "you were so adorable! I am thinking I'm gonna borrow this and put it in my room." I smirked.
"No way! I look like a tomato. I've been meaning to get rid of it, now gimme." she said and tried to grab it from my hand. But, by the time she tried, I held the picture up over my head so she couldn't reach.
"Jacob! Give me the picture this instant!" she screamed.
"No one is stopping you shorty, come get it," I grinned.
She tried to get it by jumping up and down. I keep shifting the frame from one hand to the other and laughed at her struggle.
"You are so annoying!" she said, giggling constantly.
She jumped again and I caught her waist. I put the frame down and started to kiss her. She grabbed my neck and kissed me back with her eyes closed. I picked her up and laid her down on the pillow. We were so close that I could feel her heartbeat. I moved the hair away from her neck and grazed my lips on her soft neck. She let out a soft moan which made my body burn with desire. I trailed my lips down her neck and stopped right before they reached her cleavage. If I go any further I won't be able to control myself.
But I knew she wasn't ready to go to the next level and I had to be patient and take it slow with her.
"You are so fucking sexy." I gasped. "You are making it very difficult for me to control myself around you."
Lily tried to avoid my gaze. "I...I'm just not ready for that...yet." She whispers.
"Ready for what?" I teased her.
"Stoop! Don't make me say it." She smiled, her face slowly turning red.
I stared into her eyes for a few moments. I could get lost in them. The smell of her skin was intoxicating. It wasn't just her beauty that made me fall head over heels in love with her. Her pure heart and sweet nature are what attracted me to her the most. She was a cure for my damaged soul.
