Lily Hates Me: A Love Story — Chapter 14

I went home feeling a mixture of confusion and happiness. That small kiss on the cheek sent goosebumps all over my body. How can a girl have this much impact on a guy like me?

It wasn't supposed to be like this. I was supposed to just toy with her for a month then seduce her like I always did with every other girl. Instead, all I wanted to do was make her smile.

What was happening to me?

Molly was about to leave for her job at the restaurant. This was only her first week at the job so she was rushing to get things ready. She purposely picked the overnight shift so she could avoid dad.

"Hey little brother, you look happy," she said and smiled.

"What, me? Nah..." I shrugged.

"You are practically glowing! So...who is she?" Molly asked.

What is she, a psychic?

"I don't know what you are talking about," I said.

"I know that look, you look like a lovesick puppy. So tell me her name." She pressed.

"Don't you have to be somewhere else? Like work, huh sis?" I said and glared at her.

Molly just laughed and left the house. She was right. I was falling for Lily. She was the reason for my happiness. I had a feeling we were on borrowed time like this wasn't gonna last. But I wanted it to last. I wanted to hold on to her and never let go.

My phone lit up indicating I had a text. It was from Lily.

"Good night Jacob," it said

I smiled at my phone like an idiot and replied.

"Good night princess."

I went to school feeling happy and the anticipation of seeing her was too much.

I started to walk to my class and all of a sudden felt someone bump into my chest, hard. I quickly reacted and grabbed his shoulder and found myself staring at Jake, one of my victims.

"Oh fuck Jacob I didn't mean to. I'm so sorry!" He said, his eyes are wide with fear.

"Watch where you're going, twerp! Are you trying to make me hurt you?" I snarled.

"No... I'm sorry please, it was an accident. I was just in a hurry to get to class. It won't happen again." he pleaded.

Normally I would already be pounding his dork ass right now but I was feeling happy today and my mind was cloudy with the thoughts of Lily. I knew she wouldn't want me to beat innocent kids anymore. I was tired of being a bully and I wanted to change, for her.

I let go of him. I softened my gaze at him so he relaxed a little.

"It's okay. Just be careful next time." I said and shock reflected in his eyes.

"You are letting me go?" he asked.

"Yes," I said and waved my hand dismissively. "Now get outta here before I change my mind."

Jake hurried off to class. I sighed. This wasn't easy for me to go against my alpha mindset. This girl is going to be the death of me.

The bell rang and I went to class. After class, I went to find Lily by her locker. I saw her talking to Ian Mcleroy. They were laughing about something.

Jealousy sparked in my brain and I felt angry. I approached them with quick strides. Ian's smile turned into a frown when he saw me. I was not the most likable person in this school.

I put my palm on the locker next to Lily's head, towering over her. I gave Ian my infamous death glare. Ian held my gaze, trying to show me he wasn't intimidated but that will change.

"What can we do for you, Jacob?" Ian asked.

"Nothing, I just need you to leave so Lily and I can have some alone time." I hissed.

"Um...we were talking so if anything, you are the one interrupting us." Ian challenged.

Oh hell no. This bitch is trying to get his ass beat.

I moved closer to Ian, my face turned menacing. "You want a problem? Because I can give you one." I held up my fist.

"Jacob!"

I paused as Lily cried out.

"Stop threatening everyone. We were just talking," she said.

"It's none of his business anyway, right Lily?" Ian asked and looked at Lily.

"I'll make it my business, you are talking to my girl." I gave him another death glare.

"Your girl? Oh, come on. You can't be dating this asshole. Lily?" he asked.

"We aren't dati...." Lily started to say but I interrupted.

"She belongs to me. Whether you like it or not. Now fuck off before it gets ugly." I said.

"I'm not..." he started to argue but Lily touched his arm.

"Just go, I'll talk to you later," she said quietly.

Ian looked at us for a moment then walked away.

Lily gave me an angry look.

"What?" I asked innocently.

"Why are you like this?" she asked.

I put my arms on her sides, caging her in against the locker and looked deep into her eyes.

"I won't stand by and watch, while some loser flirts with you, you belong to me!" I said, not breaking eye contact.

"You don't own me! I can talk to anyone I want and not everyone is a loser, Jacob. You need to stop acting so possessive. I am not your girlfriend, we aren't even dating!" She exclaimed.

"Aren't we?" I smirked. "Are you sure about that?" I whispered and brushed my lips on her earlobe and felt her shiver. I started to run my fingers through her hair, it felt soft and silky.

Her eyes closed and she looked like she was in a daze for a few moments but then they snapped open and she pushed me off.

"Stop that! You are not doing this to me," she said.

"Doing what? Am I turning you on?"I winked.

"As if! I am not talking to you anymore if you don't stop being an asshole. I thought we were becoming friends but you are acting like a jerk again." she said.

"I don't think so princess," my eyes bored into her. "We had a deal remember? I get to do anything I want with you, and that involves keeping you away from asswipes like Ian. I mean it when I say you are mine only."

"You are a control freak! To think I was actually starting to like you but I am not so sure anymore." Lily said, her blue eyes looked sad.

Something snapped inside of me and I couldn't control myself anymore. I leaned down and pressed my lips on hers and kissed her. She was caught off guard at first but pushed me off. She slapped me hard on the face. Her eyes were burning with anger and her cheeks were flushed pink.

"You...how could you do that! You kissed me!" She cried.

I put my hand on my cheek which was stinging a little from the slap. Damn..for someone who has such soft hand, she sure can slap hard! I was startled by her reaction. It was only a little kiss!

"So what if I did?" I asked.

Her eyes were wet like she was about to cry. "So what? Is that all you have to say? That was my first kiss, you...you..turd!"

I almost laughed at her insult but held myself when I saw how upset she looked. Shit...I had no idea. I acted on impulse and didn't mean to hurt her.

"I am sorry, I didn't know." I frowned.

"Of course you didn't. You don't care about anyone but yourself. You just like to bully people to get what you want and I've had it." She started to cry which made my heart hurt. She ran away from me, leaving me feeling miserable.

Fuck...I really messed up this time.
