Lily Hates Me: A Love Story · Angela Lynn Carver
Chapter 61
Read online · About 5 minutesI woke up with a throbbing headache. The sun hit my eyes in the most painful way possible, so I didn't open my eyes for a few moments.
Hmm...when did I get home? The last thing I remember was arguing with Tony and rejecting him when he confessed to me. I broke his heart like I intended to.
Sadness overwhelmed me when I thought about him. I couldn't get his face out of my mind. He looked so sad...
Stop it, Summer, it's too late. You did what needed to be done, I scolded myself in my head.
I got out of bed and stepped forward but stopped when I heard rattling noises coming from my feet. I looked down and gasped!
Metal shackle wrapped around my ankle. The chain was just long enough for me to move around the room but not to go beyond that. What hell is this?
A sudden realization hit me. I've been kidnapped!
I instantly remembered someone grabbing me at the parking lot. Now it makes sense as to why I couldn't remember getting home. I wasn't even home.
I looked around the room. It just looked like an ordinary bedroom with a small bed and a dresser. Nothing else. The door was made out of heavy wood that locked from the outside. I walked forward and started to bang on the door.
"Hello? Who is out there? Where am I? OPEN THE DOOR!" I yelled.
"SHUT UP!" someone answered from the other side.
"Why did you bring me here? What do you want?" I kept banging senselessly. I need answers.
The door opened suddenly so I backed up. I took a good look at my kidnapper. My eyes turned wide in shock.
No...I had no idea who it was. But he had the ugliest mustache I've ever seen. How can he look in the mirror every morning and thinks that looks good. Jesus...
"What the fuck are you making all the noise for?" Mr. kidnapper aka mustache man barked.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Don't worry about it, little lady. I'd keep the noise down if you know what's good for you," he said and narrowed his eyes.
He clearly didn't realize who he was talking to.
"Why did you bring me here? I need answers or I will start screaming," I threatened.
Mustache man smirked. "Go ahead and scream. No one can hear you out here," he said.
"No, but it'll annoy you. I guarantee it," I said and started screaming.
"Holy fuck just shut the hell up or I will shoot you," mustache man threatened and took a gun out. I stopped screaming and glared at him.
"Well since you are so curious, I am gonna tell you. I know your parents are rich folks so its time I squeeze some money out of them. They got plenty to spare," he grinned.
Duhh...of course. I was held for ransom. My brain started to spin uncontrollably. I need to figure out how to escape.
"I am gonna close the door so you better sit tight and shut the fuck up," mustache man ordered.
I sighed and went back to bed. First the drama with Tony now this. This was the worst day of my life.
I slumped on the bed and tried to think of an escape plan, There was none. I was beyond screwed. I guess there was nothing I could do besides sit here and wait for my parents to send money. I felt so useless.
I heard the door opening slowly. Is the mustache man coming back?
If he tries to do anything funny I swear he is going to lose a testicle.
My eyes turned wide when I saw who walked in.
"YOU!" I cried.
"Shhh....you are gonna get us both killed," Tony said in a harsh whisper.
"How did you find me? Did you plan this kidnapping?" I demanded to know.
"What, no! I'm a high school student. How could I ever plan this? Besides, I would never do anything to hurt you. I love you," he said.
My heart fluttered. Why did he have to go and use the damn L-word?
"I saw the guy kidnap you so I followed his car and ended up here," he said. "He is kind of an idiot. He left the key on a desk in the room next to this before he left." Tony smirked.
"Why didn't you call the police, you idiot?" I scolded him. He shouldn't have done this. What if that guy hurt him?
"I didn't have time and I thought if I didn't follow you right away I would lose you," he said. He walked towards me then wrapped his arms around me. "Are you okay?" he whispered into my hair.
I didn't say anything and just nodded. His hug felt warm. His scent was relaxing me and making me feel safe. I forgot where I was for a second.
"I need to get you out of here," he said.
I tried to say something but stopped when I heard someone come in.
"What the fuck is going on? Who are you?" mustache man yelled.
Oh shit...
Tony's facial expression hardened. He looked like he was ready to kill that man.
"I am here to take Summer home," he said.
"Oh, is that right? And how do you plan on doing that, kid?" mustache man grinned and got his gun out.
Oh no, he has a gun!
"Whoa...no need for that. We aren't going anywhere," I said quickly.
"I was only instructed to grab the girl and get some money out of her parents but it looks like I am in luck. You look like a rich kid too. I bet your parents wouldn't mind sparing some cash to save your ass," mustache man said.
"I don't think so," Tony said gruffly and stepped forward.
"Don't do anything stupid," I said warningly.
"Listen to your girlfriend, she seems smart," the mustache man said.
Tony ran towards the guy and grabbed his hand and tried to push him down on the floor. "Run Summer! Get out of here!" he screamed.
I hesitated. This guy seems dangerous. I couldn't leave Tony!
I looked around quickly to find anything that I can use as a weapon. The kidnapper was on top of Tony, trying to free his hand from him so he could shoot him. I saw a chair at the corner of the room and quickly grabbed it.
