Lily Hates Me: A Love Story · Angela Lynn Carver
Chapter 27
Read online · About 4 minutes"Next weekend the city is hosting an art festival," Mrs. Allen, our art teacher said. "I think it'll be fun to take a field trip there. So everyone who would like to go please sign up."
I wasn't exactly into those things but I knew Lily liked it. She was taking the class with Mrs. Allen also which means she was going to the art festival. I decided to sign up too.
"Did you hear about the art festival?" Lily said as soon as she saw me. I smiled. I knew she was going to be excited about it.
"I signed up to go there, I am so excited! I heard there will be fireworks afterward," Lily said excitedly.
"That's great, I am going too so we can be together," I said.
Lily's eyes twinkled and she looked absolutely adorable. She threw her arms around my neck and kissed me.
"We are going to have so much fun!" she said.
I hugged her close. The smell of her hair took me to my happy place.
"Um...you can let go of me now, we have to go to the class soon," Lily said.
"Just a few more seconds," I whispered, not letting her go.
"Are you okay?" Lily asked.
"Yeah, I am just happy you smell so good and not like sweat and farts," I said and pinched her nose.
"You are an idiot," Lily scolded me and pushed me off of her.
On Saturday, a group of us hopped on the school bus to take a trip to the festival. Mrs. Allen paired us in two so we don't scatter all over the place. She tried to pair Lily with someone else but Lily convinced her to let us stay together. Not like I would've let her go with anyone else anyways. She was wearing a short yellow sundress that showed off her legs. She looked gorgeous.
We walked around the park and checked out different stalls. It was getting dark and it was almost time for the fireworks so I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the woods.
"Wait, where are we going? Everyone is out front!" she said.
"I know the perfect spot to watch it and it's going to be just the two of us. Do you trust me?" I gazed into her eyes.
"I trust you," she said quietly.
I've been in this park a few times before so I knew a few spots that were deserted. I finally found the one I was looking for. It was an empty spot near the edge of the river where trees didn't grow, making it a perfect sitting area. It was also facing the park directly where they will light the fireworks.
I laid my jacket on the ground so we can sit on it without getting our clothes dirty. We sat down and waited for the fireworks to start.
"WOW!" Lily gasped as the fireworks began and the tiny colorful sprinkles of lights scattered around the sky.
"Don't tell me you've never been to one of these before?" I was amazed.
"I haven't," she frowned.
"That's crazy. That's it! We are making a list of things you haven't done and I'll be helping you do them." I said with a serious expression.
Lily looked at me intently. Her eyes were dark and full of emotions.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing, I just think you are the best boyfriend a girl can have." she smiled at me.
"You are totally crazy. I'm a bully and a bad boy remember? At least that's what everyone says about me," I said.
"That's because they don't know you like I do," she said and put her arms around me. I held her against my chest, breathing in the smell of her perfume. I cupped her cheeks and started to kiss her.
I looked at her face. She looked breathtakingly beautiful in the red-blue lighting that was cast from the fireworks. I was mesmerized. I pulled her on my lap and started to kiss her neck and her collar bone. I trailed my lips down to her chest and started to kiss her there. She grabbed the back of my neck to keep steady.
"It's... it's so hard for me to control myself around you. Help me stop. Push me away," I whispered and planted a small kiss on her cleavage.
"What if I don't want you to stop?" Lily asked and looked away out of shyness.
"You don't know what you are saying..." I said. I was shocked by her response. I expected her to tell me to slow down but here she was, practically giving herself to me.
"All I know is I love you," she whispered.
I couldn't take it anymore. I've been holding myself back since we got together and it was starting to drive me crazy. I had to have her. All of her.
