Lily Hates Me: A Love Story · Angela Lynn Carver
Chapter 33
Read online · About 5 minutesAfter school, I waited by the bus stand, hoping he would show up. Not to sound overconfident, but I knew he would.
"Ah, so you decided to make the first move. I like me a bold chick."
I turned around as I heard a boy speak behind me. Anthony? I was gravely disappointed as I stared at Anthony. No, not the Anthony I want. The other Anthony. Anthony fucking Dean.
But what was he doing here?
Oh, no...my eyes were huge as I realized what happened. Someone passed my note to the wrong Anthony!
"Errm....there has been a misunderstanding," I smiled awkwardly.
"What do you mean?" Anthony looked confused. "This is your handwriting, isn't it? Hey, Anthony. Meet me by the bus stand after school. signed Summer." he read the note that he held in his hand. "And you are the only Summer in my class."
"Yeah, I mean I wrote that but it wasn't for you," I said quickly.
Disappointment washed over his face. "Is that right? Then who is it for?" he asked.
"No one. Can I have that back please?" I reached for the note but he snapped his hand away.
"Not until you tell me who is it for," he said.
"What? Come one! I meant to send it to the other Anthony in class, okay?" I said, giving up.
"You mean that dweeb that interrupted my business transaction with that nerd earlier? What do you want with him?" he asked then grinned all of a sudden. "Oh wait a minute. Don't tell me you like that goody two shoes?"
"Ah, maybe I do. That's none of your business. Now please give me the note so I can give it to the right person this time," I said and tried to grab it from him but he caught my hand.
"I don't think so," he said. His bright blue eyes were turning dark.
"What are you doing?" I said.
"I've noticed you at school, Summer. You are one of the hottest chicks in school," he smirked.
"Ah...thank you? I appreciate the compliment now let go of my arm," I said.
"Most pretty girls try to talk to me or hang out with me but you never even look at me. Now you are saying you are interested in some dweeb with my name? I don't believe you. Is this some type of trick you are pulling to get close to me?" he asked.
Excuse me? How arrogant is this guy?
"Trust me, Anthony Dean. I am not interested in you. Like at all. So stop talking crazy and let me go, okay," I said desperately. How long does he plan on holding me hostage?
"Well that's too bad but I am interested in you," he smirked.
"Wait what? Since when?" I was dumbfounded.
"Since right now. I have decided you and I are going to get together. It'll make some of the girls jealous but who the fuck cares about them, right? Let's go," he said and took my arms, then started to pull me away.
"Now, wait a damn minute! Where are you taking me?" I said, panicking.
"We are together now so you are hanging out with me after school," he said casually like this was a mutual agreement and not a goddamn kidnapping.
NO! This was not part of my plan today!
"Get in," Anthony said and pointed inside his truck.
"Listen here knucklehead, if you think you can just order me to..." I whelped as he suddenly picked me up and shoved me inside the truck. This is illegal, right?
"Try to get out and I will tie you up and then do...things to you," he threatened me and closed the door.
What the heck is wrong with this boy?
He started the car. "Where are you taking me?"
"You'll see," he said and started to drive.
My phone rang all of a sudden. It was Sarah.
"OH MY GOD SARAH THANK GOD!" I yelled into the phone.
Ouch! Do you really have to yell? she cried from the other line.
"Never mind that, you have to help me! I am being kidnapped!" I saw Anthony rolling his eyes on my peripheral vision but I just ignored him.
Huh? What do you mean? she asked.
"I just said! Anthony Dean kidnapped me. DO SOMETHING!" I yelled again. Anthony snatched the phone away from me.
"Hey, Sarah? Summer is just joking," he glared at me. "No of course I am not actually kidnapping her. We are just going to hang out for a bit. Hey, I am throwing a party this weekend. How would you like to come with Summer?" he paused as he listened to Sarah's answer.
"Oh, you would? Great! Byeeee," he said and hung up.
"You son of a bitch, did you just bribe my friend with an invitation to your party so she doesn't try to help me?" I said angrily.
"Who can resist the invitation of Anthony Dean?" he shrugged.
I sat back on the seat and sulked. Sarah turned out to be completely useless. Best friend my foot.
He finally stopped the car and motioned me to get out. We were at the local coffee shop where a lot of the kids from our high school like to hang out.
"Why are we here?" I asked.
"Just be quiet and follow my lead," Anthony said and pulled me by my hand. I guess I have no choice but to follow him for now.
I recognized a few students from our school when we went in. Oh god, I hope they don't think I am dating this asshole.
"Tony, you made it!" someone exclaimed.
I looked over and saw a bubbly teenager with curly red hair running towards us. Her huge eyes reminded me of some type of cartoon character and not in a good way.
"Oh, hey Lacy," Anthony said lazily and suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Who is this?" Lacy asked. She looked at me intently. Her eyes lost the initial sparks of joy when she first saw us.
"My new girlfriend Summer. Isn't she hot?" Anthony said and snuggled closer to me. Sorry, what?
"What are you talking about? We are still dating?" Lacy's huge eyes got even bigger. Oh my god, she looks like Mort from Penguins of Madagascar!
"No, we are not. It's me and Summer now. Look at us, we are so cute," he hugged me and smashed his cheeks on mine.
"Ow...Anthony! You are holding me too tight," I managed to say.
He let go of me. "Well, now that we established all of our relationships, you should leave me alone from now on. Alright? Cool," he said and grinned.
Poor Lacy. She looks like she is about to burst into tears. I hope she doesn't because this guy a'int worth it.
"This isn't over!" Lacy declared and walked away.
I stood there as confused as ever.
