Lily Hates Me: A Love Story · Angela Lynn Carver
Chapter 51
Read online · About 6 minutesI looked at the hickey Tony left on my neck and started to spout insults at the mirror. After yelling out every obscene word in the books, I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. After I was done, I turned around and met with a pair of eyes that were full of fear.
Oh right...I was still at school. Poor Lisa Moore, all she wanted was to use the bathroom in peace. Instead, she was subjected to my angry rants at the unsuspecting mirror.
"Oh hey, Lisa!" I said cheerfully.
"Um...hey, everything okay Summer?" she looked at me carefully as if to check whether I was unstable or not.
"Everything is wonderful. Sorry you had to see that," I said and smiled brightly.
"Great..." she gave me a thumbs up. "Oh! Nice hickey! Did your boyfriend give it to you?" she asked.
"GO TO HELL!" I yelled and ran out of the bathroom. I am sure she hates me now.
I saw Anthony and rushed toward him. "Hey Summe-..." he started to greet me but I didn't give him a chance. I threw my arms around him and hugged him violently.
"Anthony you have to help me. You must save me from that animal!" I squealed.
"Huh? Who?" he asked. He was still trying to recover from my attack.
"Tony! Your lover boy. He won't leave me alone. Look what he did to me?" I exclaimed and showed him my hickey.
"Oh, nice job. That's so hot!" he said and stared at it with admiration.
"What the fuck! NO. I thought you love him. The love of your life is marking me!" I whined.
"He had always been hyper-sexual," he shrugged.
"I don't care. Just take him away. Bring out the gay in him goddammit!" I cried.
Anthony put his hands on my shoulders and started to massage it. "Take a deep breath Summer. It's going to be fine."
I sighed. I didn't tell him about my unruly attraction to Tony. He wouldn't be so supportive then.
On Saturday, he showed up at my door.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"I am here as promised. It is time we give in to desire," he said dramatically and pushed his way into my house.
Oh, no...this is bad. My parents were on their date night so I was here all by myself.
"You can't just come in here! Leave before I call the police," I cried.
"Relaaax, I am not going to try anything. I was kidding about trying to have sex with you. I told you I won't force you again, didn't I?" he said.
I didn't know if I trusted him. "Then, why are you here?" I asked.
"I am bored. It's Saturday and I have nothing to do. I was hanging out with Anthony earlier but he was starting to act weird. Even though I rejected him he still tries to flirt with me," Tony frowned.
I smirked at Anthony's persistence.
"Well, I don't trust you so you should leave. I don't wanna be alone with you," I said.
"Are you sure?" Tony made a pouty face.
"Yes. Go find one your hoes and have a good time with her," I said.
"But, I was hoping you will become one of my hoes," he leaned down and whispered in my ears. Jerk.
I put my hands on his back and practically pushed him out of the door. "Summer, please. Be my woman," he purposely shouted so my neighbors can hear."
"GET OUT!" I laughed and shut the door on his face once he was outside.
The doorbell rang after a few minutes. Did he come back to harass me again? I opened the door but was surprised to see a stranger.
An older gentleman stood in front of me. "Can I help you?" I asked.
"You must be Summer," he said and smiled.
"Yes. Do I know you?" I looked at him quizzically. I've never seen him in my life.
"I am Mark Phillips, Your dad Jacob's father. So that would make me your grandfather," he said and smiled.
"I am sorry, did you say grandfather?" I asked again and stared at the old man suspiciously. Dad said his father was dead so who was this guy claiming to be my grandfather? "I think you have the wrong house, sir," I said and tried to close the door but he put his foot in the way.
"Young lady, look at me closely and you will see the resembles," he laughed.
It's true. He did have very similar features to my dad but that doesn't mean anything.
"My dad said his father was dead so I don't know who you are but you should leave," I said firmly. I had a bad feeling about this man.
"How about I show you some proof?" the man said.
"What kind of proof?" I asked.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a couple of photographs. "Here, take a look at these," he said.
I looked through them quickly. They were pictures of my dad when he was a teenager. The man was in some of the pictures and I recognized aunt Molly in one of them. The man was holding her hand.
"Now do you believe me?" he grinned. I nodded hesitantly.
"Um...my parents aren't home at the moment and I don't really know you even though it looks like you were telling me the truth. You should come back later," I said.
"Sure thing, sweetpea. You can never be too careful. But I came from really far away and I am really tired. And now that you know I am your grandfather, you can't possibly leave me out here!" he exclaimed.
I thought about it for a minute. I shouldn't let a stranger in my home but he was telling the truth. Besides, our housekeeper was due to arrive in less than 5 minutes so I won't be completely alone with him. I decided to let him in and call my dad immediately.
"Okay, you can come in," I said and let him in.
He brightened up. "I knew you were a nice girl. Too bad Jacob didn't introduce us sooner," he shook his head.
Yeah, what was the deal with that? I wondered.
I called my dad as my supposed grandfather sat on the couch, drinking the glass of water I gave him.
"Summer? What's up? Everything okay at the house?" Dad sounded concerned.
"Um...everything is fine but there's this guy came and he said he was your dad?" I told him
The line went silent for a second, I thought he hung up on me.
"Dad? Are you there?" I asked.
He cleared his throat. "Summer, what does he look like? What do you mean he is my father?" dad sounded panicked all of a sudden.
"He has pictures with you and aunt Molly. You know, the one where you were at the beach?" I said.
"Fuck...Summer, I need you to listen to me carefully. Get out of the house right now and stay away from him!" dad cried over the phone.
"Huh? What's wrong?" I said. He was starting to scare me now.
"Just listen to me for fuck's sake! Get the hell out of the house. Do not let him touch you!" dad screamed.
"Jacob? What's wrong?" I heard my mom's voice from the side.
I didn't hesitate any more and got the fuck out of the house, leaving the old man inside.
