A Fateful Chance — Chapter 58: FRESH, NEW MOVE

Deandra rushed towards him as soon as he saw him inside the police office. They've not waited long since a lot of police were already in search of Dianne's son.

"Mommy!" Walter hugged her tight, she couldn't stop her tears from falling.

"Are you alright?" She asked him, examining all of his arms and legs. She noticed that there were red marks on his arm. This made Deandra close her fists as she clenched her teeth.

"Did auntie Priya do something to you, my dear?"

"Mommy, aunt Priya is bad. She's been hurting me." Instead of crying in front of her son, she wiped her tears right away without letting Walter see it. She hugged him tight as he returned the favor.

" Hush now, baby. Mommy's here. Nobody will ever hurt you again, alright?" She stopped herself from breaking down with tears. This time, she needs to appear as the strong person for her son as she carried him in her arms.

They were contacted by the police as soon as they knew the exact location of Priya and her son. They discovered that Priya is trying to escape the city with Walter. She tried to hide Walter from her by train. She thought that nobody could ever notice them. She only thought she could, though.

Andrew stood quietly witnessing the whole scene. He's just there to comfort Deandra and his son. He knew that they were still not in good shape because of what just happened. If only he could do something right away to ease everything, somehow.

"Now that I am here, we could go everywhere and play whenever you want. Is it okay to you?" She could see that Walter's eye lit up upon hearing those words.

"Really, mommy?"

"Anything for you, my baby munchkin. I promise mommy will never leave your side this time."

"What about your work? I know you are busy. Auntie Denysse told me that you work from morning to evening, right?" Deandra looked at Andrew and smiled a little. The kind of smile that's relieved from all worries.

"No, my baby. Mommy is all yours this time. I got my leave so that I could play with you whenever you wanted." Dianne said with misty eyes. Walter was overjoyed, he almost jumped with excitement.

"Mommy, you will help me with my lego puzzles, right?"

"Of course. We will play all day. For now, we will go to the mall and we'll be watching your favorite movie."

"Wow! I couldn't believe this!"

"Yes, you heard it right. I promise you will spend a lot of time with me starting today."

They all went inside the car and Andrew drove for them.

She gently shook her head as she touched his hair with her fingers. Walter looked at her in the eyes and hugged her once again. They went inside the mall as Walter held the hand of Dianne, he couldn't help but to look at Andrew who was smiling at him.

"Mommy, who is he?" He pointed at him as he looked at her. Dianne chuckled a little and she carried her again in her arms.

"He is so dear to me, my baby. By the way, his name is Andrew." Dianne looked at Andrew and he came closer to them. He smiled at Walter that he avoided his gaze and hugged Dianne tightly instead.

"What dear, mommy?" He whispered and glanced back at Andrew. Dianne sighed and gazed at him as if thinking of what to answer to Walter this time.

"Walter, is it okay if I will love your mom?"

He gave him a weird look. Walter shifted his gaze at Dianne and then to Andrew.

"Mommy, do you love him?" Dianne laughed at what had Walter said. Andrew couldn't help but smile, too.

Deandra looked into Andrew's eyes and smiled."Yes, baby." She answered as she locked her gaze into his. For the first time since they got married, Andrew never felt this much love coming from her. Hearing that single word felt like a dream just came true.

"Really?" Andrew responded with a grin that Deandra couldn't help but chuckle as she nodded.

"Can he be my daddy?" Walter asked in a very innocent way but it made Andrew feel he's already above cloud nine.

"Of course! I am very happy to be your daddy, Walter. Come here," Dianne transferred Walter in his arms. The child hugged him right away as they roamed around the mall. Many people who saw them couldn't help but adore the three of them.

Dianne heard a lot of girls talking about how perfect the three of them as one, big, happy family.

"Mommy, daddy! Look! It is Frozen II!" Walter excitedly sat between them as he pointed at the big screen. Andrew held a bucket of popcorn on both hands while Dianne held some sodas and juice.

"Yes. I love the part one. This part two should be greater than that."

They watched from start to finish. They both feel that their son is overjoyed because of the experience that Dianne let him feel. Walter never felt much happiness before compared to this time. This is by far the longest time he experienced being with Dianne.

"Mommy, thank you for watching movies with me. Also to you daddy Andrew." He hugged them both with his left and right hands.

"Honey, expect that we will always do what you want. I am so sorry for being busy all the time. Mommy will be there for you starting today."

"Will I see auntie Priya again, mommy?" Dianne saw his worried look. She tapped his head and shook hers as an answer. Walter felt relieved that Andrew carried him into his arms. He easily slept as they went inside the car as they went home.

They went inside the condo unit and Dianne tucked Walter to sleep inside their master's bedroom. They were both quiet as they looked at their sleeping son.

"Thank you for raising our son to be the sweetest and the kindest ever. I am proud of you, sweetheart." He whispered. Dianne smiled as a way of response. He held her hand and kissed it.

"I love you," He sealed her lips with a kiss as his way of responding to her.

"Do you mean it?" He grinned.

"Yes, I do."
