A Fateful Chance — Chapter 49: A FAITHFUL BETRAYER

Deandra's POV

The next day, I told Andrew that I will have a client meeting on the coming weekend. He gladly agreed right away that it gave me confidence to spend it with my family in the villa.

I know he will have a lot of meetings, too. I know he'll also be busier with his job, he won't bother me that much.

"Please take care of yourself, alright?" He hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. I smiled as I touched his left cheek as I smiled.

"Yes, for you sweetheart."

He scooped my face and kissed me hard again. Gosh, if he'll continue to do this to me every single, damn time, I am afraid I will fall in love with him before I will have my revenge.

I left the house with excitement because I will see my little boy again.

I got in my car as I drove in going to the villa. It was almost ten in the morning.

"Sis? Where are you?"

"Dahlia, I will be there in twenty minutes." I answered my phone while driving. I use my hands-free phone kit exclusively made for my own personal use.

"Mommy!" I chuckled when I heard Walter on the other line. He's like wanting to interrupt Dahlia to talk to me too.

"I will be there, my munchkin. Wait for mommy, alright?"

"Do you have something for me?"I could hear my son's giggles and excitement as my sister put the phone near his mouth. I couldn't help but to smile because of Walter being very active already.

"Of course love! I have a lot of toys for you." I said, glancing at the empty backseat. My goodness. Now I have to go to the store to buy something for my baby. He wanted a lot of stuffed toys and some robots for himself.

I stopped in front of a toy store. I was humming as I entered the store when a saleslady greeted me while holding her phone. Upon looking at her expression, she seemed stunned and starstruck at the same time.

"Ms. Dianne! Oh God it is you!" She giggled that she caught the attention of another saleslady. I could see at least five of them going to our direction.

"Wow! I am a fan, Miss! You're even beautiful in person!" One saleslady inserted herself in front of the crowding people around me. I smiled when I saw her wearing the signature Reike Trend earrings for this month.

"Wow! It suits you well!" I told her that most of the saleslady cheered for her, too. I could see her blushing too much. She covered her face with both of her hands.

"Miss, this is too much. Thank you so much! I want to cry!" Her two friends clapped their hands for support. I could also see flashes of cameras before me because of most of the sales ladies excitement. I could see that they were starstruck when they realized that it was indeed me.

"I'm sorry girls. I am in a hurry right now. I have to chat with you sometime if my schedule permits." I said as I looked around. I am a little dizzy right now because there were too many of them that surrounded me that the girl I complimented went between us.

"Please respect Miss Dianne's privacy." They obliged right away and apologized to me. I smiled as I nodded.

"Madam, what can we do to help? It would be a pleasure." Most of them agreed to the senior saleslady.

"Really? You'll all gonna help me?

My eyes sparkled as I hovered my gaze around the people crowding around me. I can really see the willingness in their eyes as they nodded.

"Yes, we have our own car. We can also drive you home if you want, miss."

"Oh no, no. Thank you. I just want to find stuff toys that's cute. Anything that would catch a 7-year old's attention."

"Oh, I see. Is the one you talk about, boy or a girl?" The other saleslady asked as well.

"If possible, I want a stuffed toy for a 7-year-old boy."

"Madam, we will be glad to help, right, ladies?" They all nodded altogether as they spread to different aisles. I chuckled as I thanked them as they stepped inside. Wow, I never thought my life would be so easy.

Plus, I have all the chance in the world to select a toy for my son. I am thinking of buying the toys the salesladies will bring to me. I am sure my baby will be very happy. It's also a compensation of the lost times that I missed in visiting him. I remembered the last time I went home was two weeks ago.

I realized I was too busy being with his daddy. However, a part of my revenge was to keep Walter away from Andrew. He doesn't need to know about my son. Anyway, he's a Reike now since he was legally adopted by my late husband.

Some came back with toy swords, puzzles and lightsticks. Others came with glow-in-the-dark hero figures. I loved them all that I bought them right away. Other employees started to look for some stuff toys that I want for Walter. They also came back after a few minutes. They brought me a Teddy bear stuffed toy. Others brought a stuffed toy of spiderman, batman, iron man and those pillow stuff toys, other saleslady handed me some from cartoon characters that Walter wanted the most. They were all smiling as they presented all the toys I wanted to buy for my son.

"Thank you so much. I can't thank all of you enough." I shook hands with almost twenty employees who were all my fans. I could see the look in their eyes that they are really glad to help out.

"Madam, are you going to donate it for a charity? We could give all of these for free." The owner was overly enthusiastic as he faced me. He's an old man who is always wearing a smile, I could say.

"No, sir. I will pay for all of the toys. I would also love to invite you and all your employees to join my fashion show for the next two months."

I could see the beaming smiles from most of the female employees as they held hands and hugged each other.

"Wow! You will, ma'am? That would be too much!"

"I don't mind, sir. You've been very good to me. I would really recommend Toy corner to my advertising agency for a thank-you gift." Upon hearing this, the owner was overjoyed, I could feel it. It was really my happiness to see humble people being happy even to small things and victories in life. These people made me recall how simple and contented my life was eight years ago. I could remember my young self when I was working for many part time jobs.

The toys were almost crowded in my car but I didn't care. More than twenty different kinds of toys were inside my car's compartment, some were even placed on the backseat.

I got really excited because of the toys. I am already imagining the reaction of my baby when he will see all of the toys. As I get in the car, I can see a familiar car parked in one corner. I looked at the car as I also put on my sunglasses on.

Well, most of the cars were the same. I guess I am only imagining things.
