Chapter 44: A CHANCED MEETING
Read online · About 5 minutesDeandra's POV
I looked at him in the eyes. I noticed he's studying my expression, how my eyes narrowed down to his inviting lips. A smile curved his mouth as he noticed I swallowed at the sight of it.
"I long to meet you in person. Who would've thought I would just bump on you one day? I guess I am the luckiest guy alive today." He said as he grinned. He gently pulled me closer to him. My heart started to act silly as it beat really fast. I couldn't help but to let go of his touch.
"I should go. I have a lot of things to do, I'm sorry." I started to walk away when he stopped me by holding my arm.
"Wait, you didn't know me yet, right?"
"Who are you that I should spend my time with?" I smirked as I looked at him directly in the eye. Two of my bodyguards came closer to me as they looked at Andrew. At the sight of them, he quickly let me go as she sighed. He looked sad all of a sudden. Before I pity him, I turned my back right away as I quickly walked towards my car. One of my bodyguards opened the backseat for me. I glanced at him one more time.
I could see him standing at the area where he grabbed my arm. He didn't even mind walking away because of what I did. Instead, he placed both of his hands on both cheeks.
"I am Andrew Meyers! I am a fan! I hope I will meet you again, Ms. Dianne! Take care!"
He yelled that it created an echo to the whole parking lot and the cars started to sound their car alarms one by one.
Most of the people there also turned their gaze at him. I shut the car and got my handkerchief. I couldn't help but cry. I held my knees and I can still feel them trembling too much. I hugged both of them.
Whenever I met Priya, I never let any of my family members or my personal maids go with me, that's why I instantly regret this moment. I haven't had someone to comfort me because of what happened.
I am now in a roller-coaster of emotions. I don't understand why I feel this way. I felt excited upon hearing his voice. When I gazed into his eyes, I suddenly felt rage and the urge to take revenge. When he shouted those words before I left Seri Mall. I feel like crying because I am deeply touched. I should be honest. However, I feel pissed because he's not this sweet to me when I was still very fat and haggard-looking almost the whole day, seven years ago.
With the kind of encounter we had today, I want to believe that he's like most men who only wanted to treat a woman right if she's physically attractive.
As soon as I reached the house, I looked around me and I could see my baby Walter playing in the lawn with Dina, Dee and Dahlia. They were chasing my little boy and it made him run fast as he giggled.
"Oh, mommy's here!" Dahlia spotted me looking at them as soon as I entered the entrance gate. Right after my driver parked my car in a separate parking lot beside the villa, I searched for Walter right away.
When he heard Dahlia telling him that I had arrived, he ran quickly towards me and hugged my waist.
"Mommy, aunt Dina, Dee and Dahlia chased me. I am the only one. Please join me and let's chase them too. Please, please?" He pleaded as he pulled my hand while looking into my eyes. I fell for that 'puppy-eyed' look and I accepted his invitation to chase my other sisters. The maids accepted my stilettos and Lilian gave me a pair of running sandals.
I saw my three sisters laugh as they widened their eyes in shock. Walter and I hailed the winner and as a reward, he will be receiving a lot of candies from her dearest aunts.
It happened that Kylie paid a visit, leaving her baby girl to their house because of business-related trips.
We were inside my room and Walter was already sleeping on my bed while I laid sidewards beside him, while playing with his hair. I rested my elbows on the bed while Kylie was sitting on one of the chairs beside the bed.
"What? Are you serious?"
"Yeah, good thing he couldn't recognize me anymore."
"Of course. You're slimmer this time. You even lost almost ten kilograms off your actual weight. Your weight was almost sixty-five kilograms when you both became friends seven years ago.
I looked at Kylie and I couldn't stop my tears rolling on my cheeks. She gently wiped it with her handkerchief.
"Walter knew that his father was dead. What if he will know the whole truth?"
"Deandra, he deserves to know it at the right time. You can't keep it from him forever. Remember, there's not a secret that's isn't revealed."
"I don't think he would still need to know who his real father is. He grew up knowing Khalid. For me, that's more than enough."
"What do you plan to do now that you have seen him after seven years?"
"I want to take my revenge for what happened to me."
"Hmm, I guess the right thing to do is to move on. It won't give you peace if you will always think about doing it."
"Yes, all he did was a blessing in disguise for me. What I couldn't accept is the fact that I tried reaching out to him one day but he never came to find me and his own child."
"You did what?"
"I never told you about it but I told him some of what happened to the both of us on a piece of paper. I carefully folded it and I placed it on one of his borrowed books during my last day of duty from the library."
