Chapter 27
Read online · About 6 minutesLoud music in the club was deafening my ears. We have come to our favourite club to party as the exams have finally been over. We were feeling stress free as the headache was pulled and thrown off our heads.
"Guys, i want to announce something today." I was split from my thought process by my over drunk friend Daniel. This dude was as always cute and lovely.
In Fact I was dazed to recognize that he had learned the feelings that I was developing in my heart for Amara. After she left from the college campuses and I were left behind with a shocked mind, Daniel walked over to me and whispered in my ear that, 'She seems to be in love with you. So do you! She is cute, Al. Propose her!' I thought he was just pulling my leg, but for a change, I realized he was not.
He was damn serious, and he had also overheard her confession. And I can't help but pray that this stupid friend of mine won't announce what he heard in the afternoon. "So my friends and fucking friends..." he hopped on the table on our booth. Dany used a bottle of wine as a mic and shook like a sheet of paper under a harsh windy day.
"I am very glad the exams are over. Thank you everyone for not losing hope and helping me cheat in the exams and pass. Also, a big thank you to Amara, our topper"... The mention of her name stiffened me because Dany also stared me with a smirk on his face like he was going to spill in the beans.
"She helped all if us with her notes. So this night, let's celebrate for her. Cheer to our topper. Alex, raise your glass" Daniel pointed at me as all the eyes of my friends moved to me.
I quickly raised the glass in the air with a smile on lips, a forced smile. The smirk of Dany and the confusion of other friends was making the air heavy and difficult for me to survive under their gaze. "Uh come down you drama king, sit here and don't open your mouth" I pulled him down forcefully and made him sit beside me on the couch.
He slurred near my ear as if he had something to speak to me. I only flinched back in disgust after he burped with a chuckle. "Sorry... I am sorry Alex" he was too happy and too drunk to listen to me.
I wanted to take a promise from him to not say anything about Amara and me to anyone but looking at his condition I can only sigh. He was not in his senses and could not listen to me at all. He was not in any condition to understand what I was trying to knock in his head. So to get away of that feeling I walked away from the booth to the counter across us.
The bartender was a good friend. Since it was our favourite club, we knew everyone very well. And Bonney has become a good friend. He kept our promises, secrets and bad news hidden. "Looking sad, Alex! Is there anything bothering you?" he asked me. Bonney tossed a glass before he filled it with vodka and passed to the girl who was seating next to me.
I had a not noticed her until he eyed me and showed me as to who it was. That was my Ex girlfriend Perry, sitting quietly in the stool with her eyes staring me from top to bottom. Although I am not from the people who praise themselves, but I was way too hot and good looking that I only earned naughty winks and desperate smiles from the girls.
Perry smiled with a light wink. She was not very much drunk. Her eyes locked with mine while she got up ok her feet and approached me. Her fingers moved on my black t-shirt. She traced her palm below my throat and trailed it back to my shoulders and smiled. "Hi honey!" we were no more together.
After that day, I never visited Perry, nor she visited me but the two of knew we were over. But today, she was pretending like we never had any issue, and we never broke up!
"Do you know what are you doing!" I questioned, my one brow raised up in bewilderment as I sensed her grinding herself on me.
Her hands circled around my neck and lips lingering onto mine. I flinched back as the eyes of my friends and other people I knew fixated on our bodies. She was purposely doing it, it seemed. "I know babe. But you don't appreciate my moves any more. Why would you, after that Amara has entered your life!" she exclaimed, I can see her eyes burning in jealousy.
The way she talked it looked like my friend told her everything. Daniel probably barked everything to her in the effect of alcohol and that was why Perry was trying to flirt and get close to me so that she can show to all that we were still together!
"Stop it. Stop pretending like we are a couple. We are nothing after your betrayal." I jerked away her hands and moved backwards.
These acts of her intrigued me when we were together. Now it just disgusts me. And if she thinks that I will forget what she did to me that I am sorry. It is not happening at all. "Why are you being so rude, honey. When did you become so harsh. The Alex I knew was different and cute! Please stop behaving like a jerk" her tone changed towards the end.
Her eyes glared me in pure aggression as if she had had enough of my reluctance and sighed. "Don't see her Alex, you deserve someone better than that Amara" How dare she say that!
My eyes shockingly watched her face when Perry picked up the glass of vodka and poured it on my face. I knew she would do that when she picked up the glass, yet I stood still before her. I wanted this to happen so that I would have an excuse to give her if next time she comes to apologize to me.
I let Perry bang her fist on my chest while all our friends stared her in pure disbelief. I can understand their stupoured gaze still I met perry hit me like I was her possession. "You can't date that bitch, Alex. You can't!" she screamed but her voice hid under the loud noise of the pub.
I had enough of her too. My fingers curled around her shoulders as I pulled her towards me. "Now listen to me carefully Perry. Firstly, don't drag her in this. She doesn't have anything to do with us. And don't you dare talk about her like that. As long as your jealousy is concerned, then it was you who ruined us. I had not asked you to cheat on me with the professor. It's not her, it's you is to be called as bitch." I let her go with a push that she fell on the counter behind and laughed.
"You deserve me not her Alex. Let's stop this all and come to me and forget everything please." she struggled to hold my wrist as I was pushing her hands away. "I am sorry, I was just... Just jealous that you would give her more of your time than me." She spoke but I already started moving to the exit.
Martin and Charlie tried to stop me but I pushed them away. Quickly getting in my car I ignited the engine hence driving to the girls hostel. I don't want to see anyone right now but her.
