Falling in Love Was Not the Plan — Chapter 23

"Hey Amara, Alex will not be available until the first day of exam. He would be revising everything in his apartment. But he thanked you for all the help!" she was forwarded a bouquet of flowers by his friend, Daniel.

Amara though wished to ask him about Alex, all she could rather do was force a smile.

We tend to learn from mistakes, don't we?

It is said and believed that making and solving our mistakes makes us learn from our experience and become a better human. There are many inspirational people on the earth who stand as our live inspiration and role model nevertheless, there are also some people who are opposite of that.

They keep on making mistake and when the realization hits them— they try to run away.

And taking Alex as one of the examples would not be wrong. Yeah, he was one heck of a blunder maker who eventually loved running away from accepting it.

After having experienced the best kiss of his life, having enjoyed it to the extent, now he was running away. Just because his conscience told him— he did wrong with Amara.

He thought he was just pulling her into his evil world that was not for her. And with that thought and chipping an apology to Amara, he walked out of the library hence, never meeting her ever again.

But the truth was— she loved it!

She loved it because she gave her first kiss to the guy who stole her heart.

Yeah, topper Amara Rebello was in love with the famous football captain now.

And now, here on the next day, she was expecting him to come in the library today, but all who came was his friend with flowers and a box of chocolates. "That's okay, Daniel." Amara pushed the forwarded stuff with her palms back to Daniel and took few steps backwards.

The dumb guy felt more dumb when Amara smiled at him with serene expression and said, "Wish him best of luck from my side. Tell him to focus on the notes I gave him than the digests. I should take your leave" Daniel kept calling her after she left him stand there with the flowers and chocolate but never returned.

Back in Alex's apartment, he sat with his other two friends feigning to be engrossed in studies. He sat on an armchair with a book held across his face such that it covered it totally. He did not want anyone to take a glimpse at his regretting face.

'Will she accept my flowers after what I did to her the last morning? Ugh, I am really dumb... I should never have kissed her. She must be real angry on me. I will not face her before the exams. Yes that is the best idea'

He wondered staring at the words in the textbook.

He can't feel anything except crazy. She was innocent and cute. She came forward to help him but this guy, he took advantage of her kindness. That too cruel of him.

"Comedy on Al, stop thinking about the kiss" Martin who was noticing his friend, spoke keeping aside his books.

"No ways, I feel stupid. I should never have done that. What she must be thinking about me now?"

Alex replied expressing his regret.

That got Charlie laughing. He spread on the floor laughing his heart out. "Dude, I never saw you looking so vulnerable before. You kissed like... Thousands of girls till now but for the first time I see you so regretting on the kiss" Charlie announced sitting straight again.

"That is because they were not like Amara!" Finally, he spilled it out. Alex mentally slapped himself as now his friend were suspiciously glaring him. "I mean, Amara is a good girl. She is different from others. Moreover, my reason for staying with her was only the exams... And I never intended on doing something like that to her. She isn't that type of girl." The two guys next to Alex bobbed their heads in agreement.

The college was the keeper of devilish mind yet no one did anything wrong to Amara. Nobody never bullied or ragged her. She was that innocent and cute. Her big dovy eyes would always be scared and look moist that, no one would dare doing anything to her.

Another big reason, she was the daughter of a famous businessman who also funded the college.

However, here status hardly mattered. This was the first college where students were known for their boldness and confidence. And Amara being the cutest and clumsiest topper of the college, teachers had warned others to not do anything to her.

She was Apple of all the teachers' eyes.

Any ways, back to the present, the silly two friends of our dear boy can do nothing good but fill his heart with unnecessary feelings.

Martin, the mastermind who started all the game came and sat on his knees across Alex, "Alright, we agree she doesn't belong to our bold world. But do you think it will make any difference if you keep thinking about the kids! Dude, you mentioned that she enjoyed it too. Probably, she liked the kiss. And it's not like that Amara would never have kissed a guy before!" Martin exclaimed, on the other side, Alex only looked away.

'Yep, she liked the kiss but it was her first. I was her first and that is what bothering me. Had she thought giving away her kiss to a playboy like me!'

Again, Alex thought however he kept to himself that the kiss was her first hence, keeping his friends in the dark.

"Yes dude, stop thinking about it. Amara will seriously hate that if she'd learn you are preparing to fail" Daniel stated shrugging his shoulders, he was still rooting his spot.

"Shut the fuck up, Dan. I will you if you say that again." chipped an irritated Alex.

Alex was totally engrossed in the notes whilst revising. You can say, it was her beautiful cursive handwriting that helped him by heart even the hardest concepts easily.

She was really the type of girl he'd like to date once. Beautiful with brains but the only demerit was— she was shy and nervous whereas his girlfriend should be bold and dangerous.

Alex hit the book on his forehead for getting distracted again. After that lame discussion about the kiss, he determined to concentrate only on studies but her thoughts, looked like he was missing her beside him!

He was stressing his brain to read the notes when the door of his apartment flare opened. Since he had not locked the door, a sighing Charlie entered inside just like how he have gone outside two hours ago that is— with a box of chocolates and a flower bouquet in his hands.

Seeing him return with those stuff that Alex bought as a token of love for her, his eyes felt irritated. "I told you to give them to Amara. The why did you come back with it?" He disappointedly asked getting from the armchair.

An exhausted Charlie threw his body on the couch breathing in the air conditioned room deeply. He ignored Alex's words with that 'go to hell' kind of look entertaining his face. "I think I asked you somet—"

However, when Alex spoke again,

"Shut up you fuck boy!" Charlie lost his patience and sat straight on the couch as his eyes threw deadly glares to him. "Ask your dear Amara... She smilingly refused to take these. She only said, 'Wish him best of luck from my side. Tell him to focus on the notes I gave him than the digests. I should take your leave' and walked away." He mimicked Amara's baby tone.

Dan and Martin silently heard what he said whereas Alex, he was totally clueless. "Do you have any idea how all the strangers on the street were staring me with these stuff. And how our class mates suspiciously stared me. It looked like I got rejected by her. But I should say, she didn't look angry anyway." He was loud in the beginning of his speech but coming to the end, Charlie softened his tone.

Now all the eyes were on Alex. They were waiting to get a response from him. "If she wasn't angry, why would she refuse them. Did you tell her that I sent them for her" Charlie positively bobbed his skull hence informing me Alex that he said exactly what he was trained to tell Amara while giving the chocolates.

Silence prevailed, all the guys remained quiet not knowing what to say. And Alex, he was totally shock that he even stopped moving. Martin who can see his falling face heaves a nervous sigh.

This guy was behaving differently. And to bring his 'I am Alex Ragnar, the college's hot and famous football team's captain. And I don't give a fuck' attitude, Martin began, "See I told you, Al." all eyes were on his face now. "Dude she helped you out of any greed. No doubts, she is really sweet. But on a serious note, now that she doesn't give your gifts a heed... Why do you want to keep thinking about her. Just finish it off. We've got the exams starting from the next week, after that you were anyway going to stop this all. So why not, do it now!" Martin said as a matter of fact.

His words sounded so meaningful to Alex that he snatched the box of chocolates and unwrapped the beautiful packing aggressively. "Fine... I guess I need to stop pretending to be good to her since it's all ove r." He grabbed a piece of the sweet dark chocolate and stuffed his mouth with it and following his lead, the others finished the remaining within no time.
