Falling in Love Was Not the Plan — Chapter 24

First day of the finals,

Finally, the day was here where even the beautiful faces seemed nervous and worried. There were bundles of books clutched in each student's hands standing and a confused smile on lips.

There was not even a single person who can be spotted smiling confidently and the only one who would do it... Hasn't come till now.

"You sure this will come in the exam today?" Charlie asked Alex as he flipped through the Xerox copy of Amara's notes.

"Obviously it will" Alex replied removing his goggles.

His eyes were set on the gate. They were all made to stand in the garden as the seating arrangement was not yet totally completed. Alex was curious to see her face eagerly.

She had even removed her photo from her WhatsApp profile picture. Alex was angry she had not come yet but the unexpected Bella did. "Hi handsome!" Bella tugged on his collar pulling him close.

His friends were so thrilled by her entry that they left the two of them alone. Alex was hardly affected by her unwanted occurrence. She was a barking dog that seldom bit and so her threats hardly had any effect on him.

"Hi darling, long time no see!" Trailing her black polished nail, Bella forced a smile of her dark red mattes lips.

She had not forgotten how his friends kept her tied in the rope in her own apartment. Everything that happened for a night and the following morning was still fresh in her head. "I don't see your teacher, your new desire haan" she spoke indirectly addressing to Amara through her words.

Alex tightened his gritting teeth into a clench, his pupils glared her with a dreadful gaze. How dare she drag Amara in this? It was not his business any more to care about her since all the truth was out. Because after that day when Charlie returned with his gifts that were for Amara, Alex ordered to set Bella free.

And soon after getting released from their clutch, Bella was seen going to the girls' hostel. She went to meet Amara, obviously. And she must have told her about Alex and his little lie. In fact after that Amara never put any efforts to talk or meet him. She might have believed in Bella's words.

"Oh how will she dare seeing you after the truth is out! So sad, she knows what a douche you are!" Alex felt a thousand needles pricking his skin over those words.

She was speaking way too much. He was not taking any stand against her words did not mean she was free to bark the shit she wanted to. Being agitated and angry Alex clutched her neck and tightened his hold around her neck.

Bella was taken aback at his sudden reaction. His friends came to her rescue but to no avail. The devil has possessed him. Correction, the pain of getting away from her has possessed him.

Amara who had just crossed the gate of the school after wishing the watchman a good morning, grasped witnessing a fuming Alex man handling Bella. "Alex" she whispered his name as at the same time her legs ran in his direction.

"Let her go, Alex" He was not leaving her but when Amara's innocent voice ran in his ears he immediately freed her whilst moving back.

However, the anger was still raw, he glared Bella with never blinking eyes and breathed deeply as though attempting to keep himself in control. Amara on the other hand, endeavoured to take him away from there. Hardly fifteen minutes were left for the paper to start and if he were caught misbehaving with a girl, he would be in big trouble.

"What is wrong Alex? What has got into you" Amara panted, she drained all her energy in pulling him with her that now all of her stamina has reduced.

She blinked her lashes watching how he stared her. He held many emotions within his eyes. But the problem was they cannot be defined. Alex was a playboy, he never had anything for any girl in the college. And Amara was that girl who stood last in the queue of the girls who he was interested in. He had shown his disinterest in her after sharing a kiss with her already.

Never mind, Alex kept staring her face. He read all her expressions and eventually seized on her lips. They were moist with lip balm and shaking in nervousness as she saw his dark shade today. He least cared about the others and their curious gaze on them.

She came to his view after a long time. Although it just had been three days that he did not see her for, Alex felt relieved seeing her face in the end. "Why would you do that?" he blinked several times before he concentrated on her lips back.

He felt an urge to kiss them. She was so soft unlike other girls and eventually scared. The kiss was gentle and smooth and lasted for more than fifteen minutes. He had that kind of kiss after a long time. And obviously he wanted more.

Unfortunately when the memories of her rejection and those words Charlie mimicked came recalling in his brain, he removed her fingers from around her wrist with a jerk. "That is none of your business" he expressed with great rudeness, his pupils drank the nectar of her innocence one more time before he turned around, went back to where Bella was standing surrounded by people, collected his bag and books and departed at once.

Neither did he look back nor took the pain of explaining her anything.

He fucking behaved like nothing happened between them. Gosh, when will he realize that they shared a kiss. She gave him her first kiss that turned out to be the best kiss of her life. She won't regret giving it to him nevertheless, the way he was acting, it hurt her.

Soon the bell of the college rung hence drawing all the students out of their reverie. Martin and Charlie gave Amara a thankful smile before they walked behind her inside the school building smilingly.

Alex acted rude to Amara even on the fourth day of exam. It was Business Economics, the only subject that scared him like shit. No finance, no accounting, no administration... Just economics.

Amara remembered how he used to fret giving test of that subject albeit, in the morning when approached him, he quickly departed leaving her stand like an idiot between his friends.

She felt so bad that she cried inside the girls toilet. Any which ways, she had to accumulate herself and leave as the final call for the paper was already given.

His behaviour was the same even on the second last day of the exams. He was though seemingly happy as the papers so far have been easy but unfortunately, his lips always turned into a thin line every time he realized Amara joined them.

To Amara's dismay, he occurred to be the same rude and cold towards her on the last day of examination. He simply walled out of the conversation when she joined his group. "I don't know why behaves like that!" Helen, who was also a part of the conversation exclaimed while Charlie and the other two friends of Alex, Martin and Daniel flared their eyes in the direction of Amara.
