Contract Marriage With My Ex — Chapter 61. Unveiling secrets and a broken Warrior

With the arrival of fresh morning new relationships came to life. The fresh breeze of the new beginning brushed Kiara's pale tired face. She stirred stretching her arms on her side. She trailed her palm on the side of the bed under her semi-conscious state. "Raven!" she sat on the bed with jolt as the side of the bed was empty.

She looked at the wash room but no voice came from inside. Billy was sleeping in his cradle while the windows was perfectly curtained so that no sun light can creep inside the room and disturb her sleep.

They were open in the last night. Raven may have closed them, but the question was, where was he?

Kiara's heard started throbbing loudly. Hasn't he decided to abandon her!

Many such emotions filled her heart, and she inhaled a deep breathe controlling her self. "What am I thinking!" she spoke to herself recalling their conversation they had before consummation.

Kiara was still scared. A part of her heart was freaked out not wanting to be left alone like previously but the same heart assured her, everything was right.

She looked for her phone hurriedly. Her fingers dig inside her pillow and pulled the phone out in a swift. She dialled Raven's number and waited. After three rings he picked the call, "Hello" Raven answered.

"H-hello, where are you?" Was all she asked whilst holding her heart.

She heard him excuse himself and take a nervous pause. Raven cleared his throat before he began, "I am at the hospital. Uh, actually... Shania attempted suicide. She is in a critical condition."

"What!!! Is she... Is she okay? What did the doctors say" She asked him while pulling herself out of the bed with the crumpled sheets around her body.

She sensed Raven another pause before he replied, "Nope. She is not okay. As I said, her condition is critical. She not only drank poison but also slit both of her wrists and crashed her car on the main road in the outskirts. Luckily, she crashed into Payton's car, so he immediately brought her to the nearest hospital." he sounded nervous.

However, it was another shock for Kiara. Firstly, the news of Her husband's ex-wife stunned her and then, the disclosure of Payton and his car being hit by Shania's, slipped the earth from beneath her feet. "What! Is Payton injured top?" she inquired crossing her fingers.

"NO, he was not in the car when she crashed hers into his. He was away and therefore he was able to take Shania to the hospital." Raven answered her.

Kiara was dazed, she did not want to trust that it was freaking real. This was because she was unknowingly the reason behind Shania's attempt to suicide. Although she felt extremely awful about it, she thanked the lord that Billy was not with her any more or else, he could have been there within their car too!

Never mind, after exchanging few more information Raven disconnected the call and heaved lightly. He walked back to where he had stood previously, beside Payton. "You think she'd make it?" asked Payton pulling the cuffs of his shirt up to his forearm.

He was unharmed. The piece of car that had hit him did give him never fading ache in his head though.

Raven looked at him tiringly while he swigged his saliva. He nervously chewed his bottom lip, "I am sure she will. She is a warrior." He answered, Payton nodded in second since he knows she was indeed a warrior. "That's right I and her never made a great couple but I never want her to have such end! I will do anything to save her, she's my child's mother, I won't let her die so easily." Payton impressively smiled at his answer.

He felt good hearing his words. Even after having shared an unsuccessful relationship, he was praying for her quick recovery and her well being.

(In the early evening)

The guys were famished and extremely exhausted. They sat across the wall on the floor next to operation theatre waiting for doctors to come out. They have been busy carrying out Shania's surgery.

In the mean time Raven also called her father who bust into tears on the other side of the phone. He had to go out of the town to attend an important meeting and during that phase, Shania attempted to kill herself.

The time was passing like a snail. Every minute looked like an hour. Raven and Payton sighed together until they saw the doctors walking out. Getting up quickly they gazed the tired team of doctors removing the face masks.

They had opened their mouth to say something but the senior doctor announced, "Don't worry she is alright. And the shocking yet lucky part is, she is out of danger even after derimenting her too much of blood. We are hoping for her to wake up soon" Saying that they shook hands with the two guys and took their leave.

Payton and Raven smiled. They shared a 'I told you she's a warrior' kind of look while falling in the linked chairs together. "Uh, I suggest you go and freshen up. You have been here since the night. I will stay here until she's awake! Even Girard is on his way to the hospital, please go and freshen up!" Seeing Payton look soo weary, Raven suggested.

Payton without any argument nodded in yes and left the hospital after meeting the doctors for a discussion.

Thirty minutes later to his leave Raven decided to visit Shania in the ICU ward as she was shifted there from the OT. He silently pushed the door open and his gaze fell on the bed at Shania.

He stood in the door step severally blinking his eyes while his mouth chipped, "Shania!" She was she awake and sitting on the bed quietly.

Her eyes were lava red while tears fell from her eyes in a chain. "You are awake!" Having taken a seat on the stood beside the bed he exclaimed.

Shania upped her eyes at the same time. Her pupils awfully stared his face. She was annoyed by his appearance, it was clearly visible on her face for right after he entered the room, her heart beats increased.

He knew what was going on in her mind and watched her closely. She shows all her emotions through her big dovy eyes and Raven, he can't stop but see Billy in her. He had got his eyes from his mother. He was occupied relating their son with her until he heard Shania spoke. "You don't let me Stay in peace. You don't let me die in peace either." he looked at his hands avoiding her gaze.

He could speak against her nevertheless, something stopped raven, and he only let her speak. "What do you want Raven, I still don't get it? Six years, it has been six years and still don't understand what you want from me." she cried as sobs started to build.

"You ruined my image in the society. You showed that I am a psycho who is dangerous for her children. You accused me of the death of my own daughter and then snatched Billy away from me. Do you really know how Kiara died?" she hit her weak fist on his shoulder. "It was ah accident. And that happened because of you. If you hadn't fought with me and left then I wouldn't have followed you by leaving the door of the wash room away. My toddler daughter rushed inside and drowned! That's because of you Raven. Because of you." He was shocked, for all these years he had considered her the reason behind his daughter's death however there was such a secret behind it, he never knew.

It was indeed an accident and so the court left Shania innocent when Raven had filed a murder and custody case for both of his children.

"Your mother accused me of tying her in the chair and behaving a psycho during my pregnancy but did she ever talk you why did I tie her!" She was slowly slowly disclosing all the secrets that she had kept buried within her.

"What do you mean?" Raven asked looking at her stupifyingly.

"Your mother tried to kill my babies in the womb. She was not ready for our new life, she didn't want you to become a father in an early age, that was why I tied her in the chair and forced you to leave their house. Your father was cool, but he trusted his wife more than me, and he with his wife manipulated you against me... You believed them. You forced me to run away from you and your house so that I could save my kids." She sobbed hysterically.

"You are a heartless freak, Raven Carter. Finally, when I was trying to lead a normal life after winning Billy's case, I tried many times to convince you. I wanted us to give our relationship a chance but you bought your stupid contractually married wife and took my son away from me." she was shouting now.

" I hate you! After destroying my life why did you save me? What do you try to prove Haan? Why!!!" with a high pitched scream Shania pulled the syringe from the back of her palm.

She started throwing her hands and leg in different direction trying to hurt herself. "Shania... Behave Shania..." Raven was scared. He didn't want get hurt any more and shouted on her in order to stop her but Shania turned while.

She became so aggressive that when she tried to turn her body in another angle then she fell on the floor with a thud and her forehead started bleeding again. "Shania!!!" Raven attempted to get a hold of her shoulder but to no avail.

She pushed him hard, nevertheless just when she pushed him back Payton rushed inside the room with three nurses and perplexingly saw the scenario happening in the room. "Hey Shania, calm down! Calm down..." he sat next to Shania pulled her in his arms.

"He's a heartless freak, Payton! I hate him, I just hate him" she cried and passed out in his arms leaving the two guys stare each other in defeat.

Although she was a warrior, she was badly broken.
