Contract Marriage With My Ex — Chapter 34. Destroyed

He was back to the point where he has begun it. The hope that came to life with the possibilities that his ex wife could be the reason behind Kiara’s missing manifested to be wrong. She had no hand in this matter and Girard was uselessly doubting her!

The evening he left behind whilst going to his ex wife’s house was now changed into night. A dark regretting night that brought to the point where he was standing at before her entry in his empire. Raven sniffed recklessly seeing the stars.

After having that heated meeting with Shania he came back to the place where he was sitting at. Chronicle Point— a famous tourist attraction of the city with a valley and mountainous view in the north while a range of roads running in the back south. And whew he sat supporting his back on the metallic body of the car, was a grassy land with little insects running here and there under the moon light.

He had no wish to go home. There was no interest to think about the concerned topic called home. Raven could already see his son in the eyes still crying for her, and he was certain that his arrival will only make him cry more because every morning with him used to come his mamma. When she didn’t and had to come late due to some reasons, he would ask him or simply wait at the door for her.

The figment of Billy brought another issue to think on— it was his hearing going to be conducted this Friday! “Shit I— I did not think about it! Billy… Billy’s custody case will have no positive effect. Kiara, please tell me where are you!” The more he concentrated on the subject the worst it felt and eventually he prayed more and more to know that about her.

He would not have discussed that his prayers will indeed be answered and, he will get the opportunity to listen to her!

No sooner have he wished than at the exact time his cell rung with an unknown number. Although he was up with the same nonchalant behaviour to not take the call and let it ring however an undefined emotion attracted him. Raven hesitantly with annoyance unpocketed his phone.

It seemed to be a landline call from a telephone. “Hello!” He chipped only to get to hear a familiar noise of sighing he was very well aware of! “Kiara, is that— you?” it was still shocking to have her call using a telephone booth to call other than her personal phone yet his beliefs in that never died!

“How are you?” It hit him on the heart at the cold statement she spoke with a voice that sounded like the woman speaking lifelessly on a call that it is busy or switched off.

And top of that, it was unbelievable to expect such reply. For him, he thought she must be stuck in a problem and crying profusely albeit in the manner she talked seemed no good at all. “Are you crazy? Where the hell are you. I am dying to see you. Tell me where are you. I will come right away! Do you have any idea since when am I searching for yo—”

“Where is Billy!” She cut him off talking about the kid who missed her more than anyone else!

Raven wanted to scream on her, shout for going away not even before informing them. She knew Billy was badly attached to her and any separation would drown him in the condition he was earlier in. “How you expect him to be without you!” It would definitely have made her feel worse, thought Raven. “He is asking for you Kiara, he has aggravated his physical appearance.” There was too much to say and less to describe via speech.

It was shocking to know that she called that too in the middle of the night from somewhere he had no idea about that too talking very weirdly. But, it was just something he could not imagine if she had not given him the taste of real pain.

He sensed her sigh as if preparing to say something and when she did, he didn’t know what to react!

“Perhaps now you will realize how I survived without you Raven!” Dumbfounded with the statement, he connected the dots one by one yet unsure of it. So, her leave was not abrupt but it was preplanned. “Now perhaps seeing Billy will give you the idea how I suffered. I was as attached to you as your son is to me.”

Her speech turned out to be vulnerably heart breaking. It spoke of an unknown revenge, some hurt and a plan that was created to not only see him suffer but also his little kid who not even had any thought about all this. “Kiara! What are you talking I can’t get anything!” Hurt and pain was altered along every word.

He was on the edge of busting into tears and cry trying not to believe what his mind was throwing light on. His son was used as bait to take revenge for something he was guilty of. A kid who was being punished for his father’s past mistakes. “Don’t be so dumb Raven, I know you know what it is! The reality is in front of you!” Now he could catch the fury in her voice, she sounded angry and even her voice cracking. If it was difficult for her to say that than surely she was doing it by keeping a stone on her heart! Yet, why!

“ Kiara please, not to Billy. He will die. Please!” His emotions dripped in every word. His sobs were audible too. “Not for me but please for Billy, please come back for him. I am ready to take any punishment but pleaseeee don’t do this to my son… To our son.” She was getting pissed off with his emotional dramatic sentences.

Having felt her grumble on the other side, Raven heard her say, “ You dumb head Carter are you that stupid that you can’t see— IT WAS A PLAN. A PLAN TO TAKE MY REVENGE ON YOU! “ Her shout broke his hopes and him into the smallest fragments possible. “I never loved you after you return but pretended it to win your faith. How can you even think that after doing so much worse to me I will get ready to marry for that mother fucker son of yours!”

It was not her language. She was not the Kiara he knew. She can never do this! “Now you will realize how it feels when someone you love leaves you for someone else. You will realize how I suffered without you. You will see with your eyes how it feels to be left out to cry and die. And you will see this all through Billy. Yes Raven, He will show you my condition because I was attached to you the way he was to me. And I wish he suffers more than me. Good bye Raven, hoping to never meet you again— dear fake husband.” She ended her part of say with a mocking laugh.

With that the call disconnected leaving him baffled and defeated in the fits of cries. He didn’t win that day when he decided to marry her for Billy but actually contracted his son’s happiness to her only for ruining it someday.
