Contract Marriage With My Ex — Chapter 40. Confused mind

“Kiara, this is for you!” Payton sat on his knees in a position as though proposing me.

Indeed, he has a ring in his hand with that hopeful expressions on his face that said he was upto something. “I know you are still in the phase of considering my proposal but would you like to accept my chocolate ring, made with a hundred percent pure Belgium chocolate!” chuckling at his words I saw the crowd pointing at him.

Some whispered that he was the famous entrepreneur who was growing as a businessman rapidly while others adoringly watched as he passed the ring to me. “ Please don’t say no otherwise my heart that is like this chocolate ring— will melt in sadness” I don’t think even he had any thought as to what was he speaking.

People stood in their places admiring us and eagerly waiting to see what will be my answer to his proposal while some removed their cellphones to capture this moment and obviously post on their blogs as to how the popular businessman fell on his knees to propose an unknown girl who was never seen in his arms before as his recurring girlfriend!

I quickly leaned in attacking at the ring and smacked at it until it was inside my mouth. “Come on, let’s go.” I walked ahead as the crowd busted into chuckle watching his expressions and my unbelievable movement.

It has been four weeks to our stay in Serbia. The fair we had come here for, ended in the first week only, but he insisted on staying here with me for more time. Payton was doubtful of me. He thinks after we leave this country and go back to our normal lives, I will turn his proposal down and start a new life as an individual again that he strongly opposes.

He wants us to stay together, if it takes us to be friends, he is fine, but he does not want me to go back anywhere. “That was so cruel, you don’t care for my feelings at all.” I stopped in my tracks putting on a serious face.

Yeah, true somewhere. I am only wasting our time. I cannot get onto any conclusion as to what do I want in life. Whatever I wanted few weeks ago, I left it behind on my back and moved on. “ Hey I am sorry if that sounded rude, I was just trying to be joyous.” He apologized seriously and all the way more concerned face that showed how much he cared for me.

The more I spend time with him the harder it is gets to neglect him. I would love to start my new life with him but I fear he will also behave like Raven and leave me in the middle of the journey and go ahead for another woman.

“No you need not be, I was just thinking about something.” I can see he was not convinced with what I said as I clearly lied yet he smiled looking down. He was trying to maintain his cool. “Ehh, balloons! I like balloons.” I faked a squeal pointing the man who was standing near a cotton candy store with colourful balloons.

It made Payton to look back at where I pointed and smile like his own self. “You like balloons?” He inquired, I hurriedly shake my head in yes and the next moment what I realized was that he was on his way to the balloon seller already.

He is such a gem. I will be an idiot to reject him! Everyone has a bad habit and roaming around with five girls in a single day was one of his bad habits. He has changed. It was impressive to learn that he had broken all his ties with his old girl friends and for now he is attempting in impressing me.

“What the!” it was next to impossible to hold back my laughs. “Is he kidding me?” I looked away laughing to myself in daze.

While Payton was paying him the expense, I looked around at the people who were intriguingly seeing his madness. He literally bought all the balloons from the seller. Those balloons are not less than fifty or sixty, and he literally bought all of them.

“Why?” I asked him with the action of my arms while he initiated his walk back to me having that stock of cool and colourful balloons dancing with the winds. “Payton, you are crazy!” Chortling surprisingly I hit him on the chest as he stood straight in front of me with a protection of bouncing and dancing balloons in the air.

He curtsied respectfully whilst forwarding the string of the balloons to me saying, “I will do anything for you. Buying balloons is not a big deal, in fact I have planned to buy a whole circus for our going to be kids.” My tongue was in my throat dry while he smirked at me with a wink.

See!!! I have not even decided what to do and how to tell him a yes and there he has already done his part of family planning! I cannot do anything more than looking down with blush. He proudly stood next to me whistling out on his victory.

I don’t know but it felt good when he said that. At least, there is someone who is actually planning something for our kids other than planning to marry me for his beforehand born son who needs mother!

Shit, I went too far! I should not be saying this. Not for Billy. No matter how much I try to hate him because of Raven, I cannot. I have explored my motherly emotions that felt contented around him. Billy is that child which every mother desires to have. A cute, doll like naughty baby who obeys no one else but his mother.

“Hey, don’t tell me you are imagining how would we make babies!” I sensed him snap his fingers across my eyes eventually breaking my bubble of thoughts. “Well let’s get going. I know there is still fucking more time to get into that phase of life where I will fertilize your eggs and impregnate you.” He uttered with a cluck of tongue pulling my wrist along as he walked ahead.

Tbc…
