Contract Marriage With My Ex — Chapter 60. Unexpected crash

While the living beings were sleeping soundly in their beds Payton sat in the empty lounge of Seattle Airport alone. He was waiting for his private jet to occur that was about to come. On the other hand, his mind yearned to message Raven and Kiara and wish them a good luck before leaving.

He was going back to Serbia, this time forever. Although her love was incomplete, yet he was happily going back with some of the good memories stoked up in his brain. He was happy for uniting the couple he grew up seeing since the college began. The two of them were college darlings and meant to be together.

But the life played according to its game and after some separation and drama it finally brought the two of them together. Together a happy family they seemed awesome. He can't admire their love for a limit, it was limitless.

Any ways, his part as cupid was done, his role was finished and now the time for farewell has come finally. Payton messaged his guard for updates. He asked why was the jet taking so much time coming here. And the reply came,

'Sorry sir, there seems some problem with occurring in the main engine. The pilot has refused to fly the plane. We will have to delay your trip of tonight as the weather forecast mentioned heavy is expected in the early morning. I request you go back home, I will see what can be done!'

He grumbled chipping an inaudible' what the fuck' in his breath. Surprisingly the airport was also empty like nobody had any flight to catch, and he was the only busy man sitting here. Not even was there a single human around him just the sound on the intercom flared for the flights those were about to starts after few hours or two.

"Come on Payton, let's take a long drive" He got up and dragged the luggage outside the airport with him.

Within no minute he called his driver whom he had sent away with apologies and drove it to an isolated area with main road on one side and a cliff on the other side. However, before halting there, Payton dropped the driver to his apartment! That was a new thing about him. The old Payton was selfish but the new one was an impressing gentleman.

Never mind, with a weary sigh he came near the cliff staring at the twinkling stars. They were intimidating him with their presence. Same like Kiara, they brought a smile on her face. However, it was not a good thing to think about her. She was back to her husband and her family. Probably, struggling to win his trust back!

She did stay so many days with him that surely Raven would doubt her. But that was not her concern as today or tomorrow he'd be accepting her anyway. His son would be the middle man in their relationship.

"Life seems so boring!" Payton talked to himself as he leaned across a huge rock enjoying the night view.

He was engrossed in the beautiful night play of the stars that he missed seeing a car hit right within his and crash it. "What the fuck!!!" browned off at the realization, he quickly approached his car looking mad.

Was the driver drunk or was he blind that he can't see a brand new car parked on the side of the road!

He burned in the fury of exasperation when low flames appeared from with the hood of the car that crashed with his. Black smoke surrounded both the car indicating that it was not going to take any more minute from a blast. He panicked for the driver as he had not come outside.

The windows of the crashed car was charcoal black, and he can't see who was inside. He breathed deeply while at the same moment he polled open the door and peeped in, "Shit!" he was speechless and dumbstruck recognizing who it was inside.

"Shania!" Payton heard the feeble noise of sparkling sparks and quickly pulled an injured Shania outside the car.

She was drunk and struggled to get free from his grip. He was holding her arm tight while his another hand pulled out from the waist. Payton held her tightly and with a swift move, he ran away from the sparkling cars. "Fuckkkk" he fell on the road with her under him as in the action of protecting her as the cars blasted, since they had not covered any distance that can prevent them from getting affected.

A part of the blasted car fell on Payton's head hence turning his eyes dark with black dots regardless, he strongly stayed put as Shania seemed covering into a layer of her own thick blood.

She was cursing and ranting someone (who else than Raven and Kiara) while her forehead oozed with unstoppable blood. Her crème colour dress has turned red with her blood as she was injured from the wrist side too. "NO! Shania..." Payton hissed disappointingly when his examination got him to the point where he realized, she had slit both of her wrists.

"Hey, look at me. Shania, look at me" Payton shook her shoulders in an attempt to keep her awake. She only laughed out loud followed by a loud scream and eventually burst into tears. "Eh, look at me. Don't close your eyes alright" he immediately pulled her blood stained body in his arms and ran towards the city.

He kept blabbering across her mouth in order to make sure she doesn't pass out. Payton stopped at a moment and tied one of her badly bruised wrists with hanky and the other one by tearing a part of her night gown and walked faster.

He was running by now however when he saw white foam coming out of her mouth while she coughed, his eyes widened in another awful realization! Not only had she slit her wrists but also consumed poison.

So it was a planned crash. She had crashed her car in his car with the motive of death. She wanted to die. Why so?

He was forced to think that.

Why on land would she commit suicide after irritating Raven and Kiara. Why would she want to die after hurting Billy. Why would she want to die years after her daughters death.

He any ways kept the thought aside and sped up. Luckily he spotted a taxi driver a few metres away. "Hey, heyyy!" Payton called him. He was probably parking his car as it was the early morning now.

No matter what Payton approached the man and told him, "Hey, hey, my friend attempted suicide. She's badly injured, I need to get her to the hospital please help" The driver though ranted initially but later he agreed when Payton threw a bungle of dollars on the front seat.

He was certain, he wouldn't let her die.
