“Billlyyyy!!!”

Kiara woke up screaming maniacly in the bed. Her face glistened with sweat and eyes with accumulating tears.

Her uneven breaths resulting into panicking pants pulled Payton toward them at an instant. “Kiara! Wh-what happened!” he had to barge in the room mentally armed with weapon for the way she screamed it felt she was in utmost danger!

He sat on the edge of the bed switching on the lights as she was sitting blankly under the dark room with heavy breaths looking nowhere particularly but in the thin air as her tears finally lost count and fell off her lashes. “Kia—” He cannot even finish speaking her name that she jumped into his arms hiding in there from all the haunting problems.

Her head rubbed against his chest while Kiara bit the cuff of her sleeve sobbing soundly in his arms. “I.. I… Payton… I saw Billy with her. She will kill… Kill him… Like… Like… Her daughter… He is… Not… Not safe with her!” It was real hard to comprehend her accent and understand what was she trying to say.

It took him a good minute to replay her words all over again in his head in order to learn what was bothering her! Although Payton felt bad that she was here on a trip with him where she was reckoned to not think about him or father, but he had to maintain his cool.

Her dishevelled appearance showed how badly disturbed she was and how much he craved for his presence beside her.

“Hey Kiara, you… You need not worry… He is not in danger. He is with his mother, and she will take care of him. She is his mother, hmm!” His fingers crawled in her hairs giving her light stroke.

To his calmness, it somewhere helped her gather herself however her next set of words was damn unexpected, both to him as well as her. “No Payton! You do not know her, she will kill Billy. She has killed his twin sister in the bath tub and now it might be Billy. Payton please, please let’s do something or else she will kill my son. She will kill my son, I need to go and save him!”

She seemed off track. Her unanticipating comportment left him to baffle in confusion. What did just happen to her so on the spur of the moment? They had good dinner few hours ago and also a good romantic couples dance where Payton made sure, he impressed her to quarter of the requirement.

Even so, this kind of demeanour was unbelievable!

“Gather yourself Kiara!!!” She was about to leave the bed and him, and run to the door notwithstanding, he pulled her in his arms shaking her shoulders aggressively such that even her hairs became messy. “What are speaking? Billy is not your son, you are not his mother! It should not affect you if he is not safe or in danger!!!”

She turned mute and motionless. Her pupils stilled on his face with slightly parted lips as her eyes closely watched when he annoyingly attempted to knock some sense in her head. “Do not forget Kiara, meeting Billy and getting close to him was just a part of your plan! You never intended to become his real mother, did you?” Siding her hair from covering her gloomy shocked face, Payton constantly stroked her arm.

It was obvious from her locution she was just zoned out. Her uneven blinking of lashes said she did remember what was it supposed to be? A plan, an executed plan where it was clearly decided she had to get closer to her cruel ex boyfriend’s son and leave him when once he is attracted to her and it is impossible for him to live without her.

And even, they did the same! Yet, seeing a nightmare where that so called son of hers was being tortured by his psycho mamma, the mother in her could not keep herself back. “If you really want then I can get his information just for you. But please, stay calm.” No matter why was she so disturbed, Payton cannot overlook it as it becomes his matter of concern too.

Her unbalanced face gets him agitated and gradually it gets obdurate to congregate on his own life because— she is his life now!

Anyway, as Payton partially rose from the edge of the bed to leave, Kiara clutched his wrist not letting him go. He politely obliged her and sat back in his spot smiling at her genuinely. “No, don’t go anywhere please!” She barred him from going.

He was correct, it's just a part of a plan. Billy was just a part of a plan, it is not her solicitude whether he lives or dies! She thought indeed the same and any which ways forced her heart to agree with her. “Sure!” Payton plumbed a brow giving her an opportunity to withdraw her words and let him do the needful.

But much to his tranquillity she nodded in yes, nonchalantly. “Think about it one more time Kiara, I don’t want to see you worried in the morning. I know you had a great relationship with him perhaps, knowing about his condition will give you some peace!” He suggestively specified.

Don’t know why but her expressions said she wished to know about him yet her words reinstated something else. Payton calmly sat there for her as she has clutched his hand into a protective grip not giving him any chance to move even a bit.

It was damn likeable yet keeping in mind the conditions he perched in his place staying as her support system. “I… I am… I think I want to sleep more.” Kiara confusingly said shoving her hand in the air back and forth. “Uhh, would you mind switching the lights off, I Want. To. Go. To. Sleep.” She uttered every word taking a seconds pause in the middle.

Her eyes hurriedly latched with the sheets on the bed not daring to look in his eyes. She never feared to look him in the eyes ever before than now! She can perspicuously see how he caught her red handed lying and jumping from her emotions to stubbornness.

Her mind refused to trust his eyes, they never made her feel so uncomfortable in that way. Not in the wrong sense obviously but, she never imagined Payton…. The guy who irked her all the time will catch not only her lies but also her, in the times like this where she was still confused what to do in life now!

“Hmm okay as you say, call me if you need my help. I am always available at your service, ma’am!” He curtsied professionally as if he has been doing that all his life before switching the  lights off.

Kiara can finally heave the breath that stuck in her throat seeing such an adorable Payton doing his best to woo her. “Stupid!” She shook her head excitingly whilst spreading the quilts back on her body.

As soon as she closed her eyes thanking Payton for his generosity, her eyes yet again shone with Billy’s crying faces. ‘Hope he is fine!’ She mumbled to herself hugging the covers tight.
