Chapter 26
Read online · About 6 minutes“Is this the boyfriend?" Bandana asked nodding his head toward Tom and I shook my head.
“No,” I turned my head and nodded toward the car." Did anyone wake up?"
“Only Nathan and he was a nervous wreck about you. He thought Caiden would kill you,” Caiden snorted,” I had to convince him he wouldn't till he fell back asleep."
“I would never hurt a girl unless I had to,” Caiden said his face showing he was completely serious.
“Hey you, don't ya think those two would be a good couple,” Leather pitched in and Tom started to laugh.
“No, those two can't even stand next to each other for more than five minutes without call each other an asshole or a slut,” he stated. “Plus she's dating my other best friend Nick."
“And I don't know why any girl would ever date him. He has a new girl in his bed every hour,” I pointed out.
“How would you know that? Do you live with him or something?" Bandana asked. My eyes widened and I thought they were serious till they all started laughing.
“One of my best friends does and he tells me how awful he is,” I said, shooting him a glare.
"Well then I have advice for you blondie, Keep the banana in its peel my boy and join me in a prayer because you definitely need Jesus.” I burst out laughing and gave bandana a high five.
“You should be my new best friend,” I said holding my stomach and Caiden grunted.
“I'm tired let's go.” Caiden got in the driver's seat and started the car.
“Well it was nice meeting you guys and thank you so much for the ride!" I said, opening the passenger door.
“You can repay us by getting together with blondie."
“You do realize we're both blondes right?" I said slowly pointing to my curled blonde hair and to Caiden's blonde hair that was coiffed and curled.
“Yea, but he's blondie and you're his girl.” I sent them a fierce glare." Goodbye.” I slammed my car door getting in and Caiden glanced at me.
“Took you long enough.” I glanced in the back to see Tom already got back in the car. Once Bandana and Leather drove off we started to head home too.
“If you ever do that to me again I literally kill you with my own hands,” I hissed. “We could have been kidnapped or killed!"
“You could have walked."
“You could of walked,” I mocked him childishly and he raised an eyebrow amused. This may sound weird but he didn't smile when he raised his eyebrow yet somehow I could tell he was amused, whether it was just by his usual cold eyes or just by his face.
“Claire, thank god you're okay!" Nathan said groggily.
“How are you feeling?" I asked looking back at him.
“I could be better,” he responded looking at me before looking down at the sleeping Mia on his lap. He was looking so intently and he didn't hide his affection much as he started to play with her hair. The love shined bright in his eyes and it made me smile slightly. I turned back around and decided to get some rest myself since we still had about an hour left. I closed my eyes and listened to the radio as it played Steal My Girl by One Direction. If I wasn't so tired I would be singing and dancing. The words became a simple hum as I fell into a light sleep.
I awoke slightly to my body being carried and I was too tired and couldn't think straight from the overwhelming sense to sleep and snuggle into the warmth.
“Agh,” I grumbled incoherently keeping my eyes closed.
“You're less annoying when you sleep,” I heard a deep, masculine, husky voice murmur. I squeezed my eyes tighter together as what seemed like bright lights shined on my face. I hid my face in someone’s chest. The ding of an elevator sounded and I groaned irritated. All I wanted to do was sleep, trust me when I say you don't want to meet me if I haven't have much sleep. I turn into one sassy bitch. Hearing a door unlock and darkness met my closed eyes making me let out a sigh of relief.
“Where's Nick?" I mumbled, keeping my eyes closed.
“In a different hotel room with Tom,” Caiden's husky voice grunted out. My boots were removed and I could hear them hit the ground. I decided not to comment on his rare kindness today.
“Tell him to come sleep with me,” I said, knowing I was going to be freezing as soon as Caiden let go of me. My back dropped on the bed and I bounced a little landing right on the floor.
“You ass,” I hissed against the carpet. His chuckle filled the room and he lifted me up and put me on the bed this time gently. I opened my eyes and let them scan the dark room after cuddling underneath the blanket.
“Wait this isn't Mia's room,” I pointed out and Caiden nodded.
“Wow you're brilliant! Pointing out the obvious,” he said sarcastically.
“It's like four in the morning. Your sarcasm isn't needed.”
“Mia only had one single bed and Nathan took that her up to her room and stayed with her."
“I could have taken the couch."
“As heartless as I usually am I'm feeling generous today,” he said, heading toward the door.
“Wait! Where are you going?"
“To my room,” he said slowly as if I was dumb.
“Which room are you staying in?" I asked and he turned his head to look back at my now sitting up figure. His hand was clutching the handle to the door.
“I'm staying with Tom and Nick. Anymore questions?" he asked irritably.
“I actually have a statement, I don't want to stay in this room all alone.” Call me weird, but I didn't like staying in an unfamiliar place by myself
“Go ask the guy at the desk to stay with you."
“For the billionth time I'm not a slut!" I said, standing up, completely forgetting about sleeping and my spot that was just starting to get warm.
"Can you just go to bed?" he asked, running his hands down his face.
"Someone could break in!" I said and he clutched his head with his hands tightly and irately
"I'll stay! But don't expect me to sleep with you baby doll. I won't hurt Nick like that,” he said, moving toward the couch and I glared furiously at him. I almost brought up the time he asked ‘Jason’ to break us up but decided against it.
"Thank you and stop calling me baby doll.” I jumped back on the comfortable bed and sighed in relief. I didn't get a response but I wasn't expecting one. Today was probably the most I've ever heard Caiden talk and the most I've ever talked to him. I wish I could say behind that cold exterior was a nice guy but I honestly couldn't.
"Good night, Caiden,” I said, closing my eyes.
"Good night, baby doll,” I heard him say after a few minutes. Maybe I could break his shell, but only by being me.
