Love Over Everything — Chapter 45

“I can’t believe this is truly happening, ” Sarah said with tear-filled eyes as she adjusted her son’s bow tie. They were standing by the Alter.

Christopher smiled, “Mom, we had an agreement. You promised me that you were not going to cry.”

She chuckled, “I’m trying not to. This is just a beautiful dream come true. Your father and I have always wanted you to settle down and have a happy family of your own and now it’s all happening. I’m so proud of you Son.”

“Thanks, Mom.” He smiled.

Sarah was getting very emotional because of all the challenges her son had been through which included Vivian’s Drama. She was grateful that her son was finally getting all the happiness he deserved and she prayed it lasts forever.

“A woman like Naomi is hard to find, please love her, cherish her and make her happy” Sarah advised and her son nodded.

“Make sure you put her and your children first because life is meaningless without them and be there to assist her, with four children she will definitely have her hands full.”

“I will mom, thanks for everything.” Christopher hugged his mother then kissed her cheek.

“So I guess you have seen Naomi. How’s she?” Christopher asked excitedly, he was a bit nervous too.

Sarah nodded, “She’s the most beautiful bride I’ve ever laid my eyes on. You will be blown away when you see her in a bit. You’re very lucky my child.” She replied and Christopher smiled proudly.

“I miss her.” He pouted. He had been away from Naomi for two days in the name of some sort of tradition he had no idea who invented. He was not able to talk to her too because their phones were seized by their friends.

Sarah smiled, “She misses you too.”

There was an announcement that the bride was around so all the guests in the Church stood to their feet to honour the bride.

Sarah gave her son a light squeeze on his shoulder before going to her seat.

“You ready man?” Andre, his best man asked.

“As ready as I’ll ever be” Chris replied and they chuckled.

Zowi and Tyler Smith were the first to make their appearance. Zoe was the flower girl and Tyler was the ring bearer.

As soon as they got to the aisle, Christopher dropped down to his knees and hugged his Children. He collected the rings from Tyler which he gave immediately to Andre. Then Zoe and Tyler kissed Christopher on his cheeks together.

“Mommy said we should give you a kiss before she gets here” Zoe whispered proudly.

Christopher smiled and kissed their cheeks too after which Andre led the Children to the seat reserved for them in front.

Christopher smiled even more as soon as he set his eyes on Naomi, the Queen of his heart. Beautiful would be an understatement to describe how he looked. His eyes never left her as her father walked her down the aisle.

“Not only is she my only daughter, but she’s also my favourite and the apple of my eye. Please take care of her.” Roland, Naomi’s father pleaded.

“I will Dad.” He promised and Roland handed Naomi’s hand to him.

“I don’t know if it’s the wedding dress or the pregnancy glow, you look gorgeous Naomi. I’m so proud of you.” He whispered.

Naomi chuckled as they walked towards the priest. “You look handsome too, we missed you.”

The ceremony started in full swing and soon it was time for the couple to say their vows. Christopher went first.

“Every morning when I wake up, the love I have for you multiplies. I’ve grown so fond of you that I cannot imagine my life without you in it. You’re not only beautiful on the outside but you have a beautiful soul. You’re everything I could ever ask for in a woman I would want to spend the rest of my life with. Thank you for all you do for me and our children.”

“I promise to love you unconditionally, I promise to be faithful to you, I promise to be your best friend, I promise to be a good husband to you, a good father to our children and I promise to make you happy. I love you so much, Queen Naomi”

Christopher collected the ring from Andre, slipped it into Naomi’s finger and kissed her hand.

“Christopher, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. We’ve been through so much and I do not doubt that there’s so much happiness waiting for us in the future.”

“I promise to be faithful to you, I promise to share everything with you, I promise to support you and most of all I promise to love you unconditionally. I love you, Chris.”

Naomi collected the ring from Maddie, her maid of honour and slipped it into Christopher’s finger.

The priest smiled, “I now pronounce you husband and wife, You may now kiss the bride.”

Christopher closed the gap between himself and Naomi and gave a long passionate kiss. The louder the guests cheered the more passionate the kiss became.

The newlyweds made their way out of the church. They were hugged and congratulated by all and they took pictures.

As soon as the lovebirds were alone in the car that was to take them to the reception, Christopher closed the gap between him and Naomi and kissed her.

“I missed you.” He said between kisses.

“So did I.” She admitted.

He placed his hands on her bump and asked, “Were they good to you?”

Naomi nodded. “Yes they were but I think they missed you.”

“I miss them too, ” Christopher said, then kissed her bump.

Christopher Ryan Smith was the happiest when they discovered they were expecting twins. Doctor Grace’s tissue was used up because Chris and Naomi couldn’t stop the tears of joy that kept rolling down their cheeks.

There and then, Naomi admitted she was scared. She had no idea how she would cope with two babies when she already prepared her mind for one.

After several promises and assurance from both Christopher and Doctor Grace, Naomi felt motivated that she could do it.

Zoe and Tyler’s reaction was priceless when they found out they were having two siblings instead of one and the whole family was thrilled to hear the good news.

Naomi goes to work twice a week because there was really nothing much to do. Her modelling career was on hold and she had no idea if she would ever go back to it because she had her kids and husband to take care of.

But for now, she spends her time as a fashion consultant and busied herself with creating designs. Maybe she would end up having her clothing line.

Christopher, on the other hand, has been of great help so far. He hired more staff in the company so he would be able to spend more time with his family.

Before they stepped into the reception, Christopher accompanied Naomi to the changing room where the stylist assisted her in changing into her reception dress and the makeup artist retouched her makeup.

The reception was a fun-filled one. Several toasts were made, Food and drinks were served, the couples alongside their children cut the cake, and they had their first dance as newlyweds.

Christopher made sure Naomi ate enough. He had been overprotective since the news about the twins. He wanted her to enjoy the pregnancy and also have a safe delivery.

She hardly lifted a finger to do anything in relation to the wedding. Her friends and family were there to help with the planning and it turned out perfect, just how she visioned it to be.

It wasn’t a bad idea getting married with a four months old bump of two.

The reception came to an end all too soon and the newlyweds were saying their goodbyes to their children. They were about to leave for their honeymoon.

If they had the opportunity to take Zoe and Tyler with them, they would have taken them along like all other vacations but this was something they wanted to do alone. With the twins on the way, they had no idea when next they would have a personal vacation.

“Guys, be good to Grandpa and Grandma okay? We will call every day to talk to you.” Naomi said to the kids.

“Don’t worry mommy, Tyler and I will be good. Right, Tyler?” Zoe asked and he nodded.

“Mommy loves you both and she will always be thinking about the two of you.”

“We love you too mommy.” Zoe and Tyler said before Naomi pulled them in a joint hug.

Christopher dropped down to his knees so he could hug his Children. “Mommy and I will try to come back with lots of presents for you guys, ” Christopher said and they nodded excitedly. He gave them one final hug and kissed their foreheads.

“I think the two of you are overreacting. They will be fine. You guys should go and have lots of fun.” Anna, Naomi’s mom said. Zoe and Tyler were going to stay with her while Chris and Naomi were away on their honeymoon.

Naomi changed her dress into a comfy outfit and they made their way to the airport.

As soon as they boarded the jet, Naomi fell asleep. Christopher covered her with a blanket and spent the first twenty minutes admiring her as she slept. Being pregnant with twins made her get tired really quickly but he was proud of the way she was trying her best to enjoy this pregnancy. He hadn’t experienced her having mood swings because he tried his best to make her happy and comfortable.

Chris buried himself with work for the rest of the flight while checking on Naomi once in a while. He was going to wake her up because they were about to land but saw that she was already awake.

“Sorry I fell asleep. You must have been very bored.” Christopher closed the gap between them and took her hands in his.

“You have nothing to be sorry for and I wasn’t bored so it’s fine.”

“I’m famished.” She smiled.

“I will take you to the best restaurant as soon as we land.” He said and she nodded.

“Welcome to Rome, my love. We will be here for a week then our next stop will be in Paris.” Christopher announced as they walked out of the jet hand in hand.

Before going to their hotel, they made a stop at a popular restaurant to feed themselves.

“Our suite is beautiful, Thank you for everything.” Naomi closed the gap between them. Christopher just gave her a tour around the place they would be staying.

He wrapped his arms around her waist. “You’re welcome my Queen, you deserve the best.”

She kissed him until it turned into a heated one. “Please make love to me...........In the shower” She whispered, her voice filled with need.

“Your wish is my command.” He carried her in a bridal style and headed to the bathroom. They undressed and made love in the shower.

The more they made love, the more intense the attraction between them was, every lovemaking was always better than the last. They couldn’t get enough of each other.

After their lovemaking session, they showered, changed into their nightclothes and made their way to the bed where they cuddled.

“I think I’m going to change my mind about not finding out our babies' gender. It’s making things a bit difficult, it’s so hard to pick names and even shop for them. I don’t want them to have only unisex stuff. so on our next appointment, we will find out the gender.” She said.

Christopher smiled and caressed her bump. He knew she was going to come around about knowing their babies' gender. She refused to find out the gender the day they found out they were having two babies and Chris understood perfectly. He knew she needed time to process the fact that she was expecting twins when she only prepared her mind for one. “I’m okay with anything you say, my love.”

“But I’m hoping we will have a girl and a boy, making two girls and two boys,” He added.

Naomi smiled, “I’m okay with anything as far as they are healthy.” She yawned.

“Go to bed my love, we have so much to do tomorrow.” He stroked her hair, then kissed her forehead.

“Goodnight love, ” She whispered, closing her eyes.

“Goodnight baby.” He continued to stroke her hair.

Christopher began to reflect on everything he had gone through in life. From being a playboy to being used by Vivian, coming across Naomi, their breakup, him feeling depressed for months and when he heard about Tyler’s existence.

So many tears have been shed but love will always win over everything. Christopher wouldn’t mind going through all of his struggles again to have his happy ending with Naomi, the love of his life.
