Love Over Everything — Chapter 41

“So buddy, I hope you had fun at your party?” Christopher asked a sleepy Tyler as he put on his nightwear for him. He and Zoe were exhausted from the day’s activities; they had so much fun.

“Yes Daddy, Sissy and I had so much fun and we made new friends too.” He replied in a sleepy voice.

“I’m glad you guys enjoyed yourselves.” Christopher connected his hands with Tyler's and led him to his bed. Zoe was already on her side of the bed, waiting for Tyler so they would fall asleep together.

At the party, it was as if Zoe and Tyler were the ones celebrating their birthday. Apart from the fact that they had matching outfits, they were inseparable throughout the party. Tyler insisted Zoe cut his cake with him and he hardly took any pictures without Zowi in it.

“Do you guys want me to read a bedtime story to you?” Naomi asked as Christopher helped Tyler settle on the bed.

“Yes, mama.” Tyler insisted and Naomi went over to his shelf where they kept his bedtime stories and selected one.

Naomi was hardly halfway through the first page of the story when She and Christopher heard soft snores coming from their children.

Christopher looked at them adorably and smiled, “They are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love them so much.”

“Me too, ” Naomi whispered. She and Chris kissed Zoe and Tyler on their foreheads before they exited their room.

They made their way to the kitchen, warmed up a few slices of pizza, grabbed two glasses of orange juice and made themselves comfortable on the couch as they ate.

“Thanks for giving Tyler a great party, ” Naomi said before taking a bite of her pizza.

“But you did most of the planning.” He reasoned.

“You helped a little and you financed everything.” She said and Christopher shrugged. It was not as if the amount he had spent for Tyler’s party had any consequence on his bank account. But he wouldn’t mind doing it again. Spending his last card was no big deal to him, as far as it would make his children or Naomi happy.

“I’m glad we only have one cake left from the party. I usually have like two, last year was worse, almost everyone came with a cake for Tyler and I ended up having three leftovers and about nine cupcakes. It was crazy, I ended up giving them out.”

Christopher smiled, “I keep my word. I made sure everyone ate as much cake as they could.”

“Your mom and I talked today.”

“Please tell me she didn’t say anything silly.” Naomi pleaded.

“Not really, but she also teased me because she walked in on us in the kitchen.”

“My mom can be annoying but I love her so much.”

“I’m grateful because she loves Zoe too. The way they interacted was so precious. She told Zoe to call her Grandma instead of Anna.”

Naomi smiled, ” I’m not surprised, mom has a weakness for kids and she told me Zoe is very adorable.”

“We talked some more and she threatened me to start trying for baby number three with you.”

Naomi shook her head in disbelief, she wasn’t surprised as her mom can be so blunt at times.

“Sorry if she made you feel uncomfortable.” She apologized.

“No it’s okay, you have a cool mom though.” He smiled.

“Susan will be here tomorrow. She wants to spend the day with us before she goes back to Miami in the evening. Is that okay with you?” He asked.

“Sure, I like her and the kids like her too so she’s welcome to spend the day with us. Though I was planning to have some girl time with Zoe tomorrow, I guess we can postpone it.”

“Girl time?” Christopher reiterated, loving the idea already.

“Yes, I thought about it yesterday. I would like to spend a day with her, take her out for shopping and do all other fun stuff girls do without you and Tyler interrupting. I want to know her better, I know she likes me and feels safe around me; I just want her to know she is free to tell me anything, she can count on me and I will always be there for her.”

Christoper smiled, “Thank you, I’m sure Zoe will like it. Thanks for treating her like she’s yours.”

“No need to thank me Chris; She’s very special to you and the same applies to me.”

“I love you.” He connected his lips with hers.

Satisfied with the way she looked, Naomi picked up her handbag, car keys and walked out of the bedroom. She and Zowi are going out for a girls time while the guys will stay at home.

Christopher agreed to dress Zoe up while Naomi got ready. She entered the kids’ room and saw Chris styling Zoe’s hair.

“How about this?” Christopher said.

Zoe looked into the mirror and she frowned. “I don’t like it, Daddy.” Christopher sighed and looked at Naomi for help.

Zoe used to be okay with the pigtails he does for her but it seems she now has a change in taste.

Naomi decided to help Chris out. For a girl of four, her hair was quite long for her age. She braided Zoe’s hair and the little girl loved it.

“I love it, Naomi, Thank you!” She hugged her and then ran to put on her shoes.

“Thanks, you’re a lifesaver” Christopher muttered

Naomi kissed his lips. “No need to thank me.”

Zoe put on her shoes and they were good to go.

“You guys should have fun. Don’t worry about me and this little guy. We will have our Daddy-son time in the house.” Chris said as he and Tyler work Naomi and Zoe out of the house. They hugged each other.

Naomi saw Christopher reaching for something in his pocket and she declined, knowing what he wanted to do.

“I’ve got us covered Christopher.” She assured him but he turned deaf ears. He reached for his wallet and handed her one of his credit cards.

“Please accept it and you guys can buy whatever you want.”

Knowing he wouldn’t stop until he succeeded, she reluctantly accepted the card and kept it in her purse.

With one last hug and kiss, they said their goodbyes;

Naomi decided she and Zoe should go to the mall first so she bought everything Zoe wanted. Ranging from clothes to shoes, toys and kids accessories. Naomi picked up some sexy lingerie for herself and a few items for Christopher and Tyler.

She paid for the items she bought for Zoe with her card and paid for what she bought for herself and the guys with Christopher’s card.

From the Shopping mall, they made their way to the Spa where she and Zowi were pampered after which they did their hair and nails.

Then they stopped by the restaurant to feed themselves and later strolled to a nearby park, got some ice cream and sat on a bench to enjoy it.

“I hope you had fun with all we did today, ” Naomi asked as she cleaned Zowi’s hands. They were done with their ice cream.

“Yes, I had fun. Thank you, Naomi.”

“I was thinking we can have a chat before we go home.” She said and Zoe nodded.

“I have no doubt you like me Zoe, but I want to assure you that you’re free to come to me whenever you want anything or whenever you need someone to talk to. I will always be here to listen to you.” She declared and Zoe nodded.

“So, are you enjoying your stay with us? Are you excited to start school with Tyler?”

“I’m enjoying it here. I love to stay with you, Daddy and Ty Ty but sometimes I miss my mama, uncle Collins, Grandpa, Grandma, and Sophie.”

“I talked to my mama yesterday, she said she and uncle Collins will come to visit me soon. Daddy said Grandpa and Grandma will come to visit us soon too and I’m excited to start school with Tyler. He said he will introduce me to his friends.”

Naomi caressed Zoe’s hair. “I just want you to be happy okay? If you’re not comfortable with anything, make sure you let me know. Your Dad and I love you just as much as we love Tyler.”

Zoe smiled and then hugged her. “Thank you, Naomi.”

“You’re welcome, my love.” She replied.

“Do you want to know what Tyler wished for on his birthday?”

“I would love to know but I think he would have told me if he wanted me to know.”

Zoe shrugged.

“I love Tyler and I want to make sure his birthday wish comes true. And you said I can trust you with anything so that’s why I want to tell you what he wished for.” Naomi nodded, encouraging Zoe to continue.

“Tyler wants a baby Sister, please can you give us a sister?” She pleaded.

Naomi smiled, “That’s what he wants?”

“Yes, ” Zoe answered.

“I will talk to your Daddy, we will see what we can do about that.” She promised.

Naomi and Christopher were sexually active, but she wasn’t sure if she was pregnant yet. She hadn’t noticed any changes in her body and she was scared to take a pregnancy test because she believed it was too early and she feared that the test might come out negative.
