Chapter 90
Read online · About 6 minutesSebastian felt very useless standing by Jayda, doing nothing than holding her hand and encouraging her to push by whispering soothing and encouraging words in her ear.
He wished he could do more, he wished he could go through the labour for her or somehow take away all the pain she was feeling. She was in tears and in great pain and it broke his heart.
Seb had tears in his eyes too but he tried as much as he could to hold them back. Jayda relied on him for support and he had to be strong for her.
"I can see her head, babe, just a few more pushes and she will be with us." Sebastian encouraged, before placing a kiss on her sweaty face.
"You can do it Jayda, you're the strongest woman I know." He added.
Another tear rolled down Jayda's cheek before using all the strength left in her to push really hard.
Lo and behold, the cry of a bouncing baby girl followed suit.
Jayda jammed her head back against the pillow and heaved a sigh of relief.
"You did it, my love, I'm so proud of you." Sebastian placed a kiss on her lips before going over to cut their baby's cord on the Doctor's request.
Jayda was wrong when she thought she was done crying. Fresh tears rolled down her cheeks when a nurse placed her baby girl on her chest.
"She's so perfect....so beautiful," Jayda whispered, tearing up the more. She placed a finger by her baby's hand. Her heart swelled with so much pride when her little princess wrapped her warm hand around the finger.
"Yes, She's perfect and beautiful, just like her mom. You two complete me. Thank you for blessing us with our gorgeous Ariella." Seb placed a long kiss on Jayda's forehead.
Ariella Sophie Lynn Miller opened her eyes as soon as she heard her name.
Jayda awed. "She recognizes your voice since you and Aaron would not stop talking to her while she was in my tummy. I'm so happy she has your eyes," Jayda added.
Sebastian smiled proudly as he caressed Ariella's soft cheeks. "I can do nothing but watch her all day. She's so perfect and calm."
Jayda smiled weakly, "Me too."
After a while, A nurse came to collect Ariella from her parents to weigh her and perform other necessary check-ups. Jayda was also cleaned up too and with the supervision of the nurse, Sebastian had the opportunity to clean up his daughter and put on her clothes for her.
After Jayda and her baby were cleaned up, they were both transferred into a VIP ward. Jayda managed to stay awake to breastfeed Ariella and after that, she fell asleep.
Sebastian burped Ariella after which he played with her a little before she fell asleep. And when she did, he carefully placed her in her bassinet.
While both mother and daughter were sleeping, Sebastian reached for his phone and came across multiple text messages and missed calls.
Jayda's water broke around 11 pm so he had texted his family and her family to let them know what was going on and to put them in their prayers. Aaron was sleeping when they left the house; they left him with his nanny.
Sebastian replied to all the texts of their worried family members by informing them that Jayda and Ariella were both doing well and they could all stop by later in the day to check up on the duo.
Seb kept his phone aside and went to check on his daughter who was still fast asleep. He placed a soft kiss on her tiny forehead, then went over to a very tired-sleeping Jayda and kissed her forehead too.
He took a seat on the chair beside her bed and decided to take a short nap with his family. It was just a little past 4 am. Hopefully, he will be able to rest for two hours.
In an hour and thirty minutes time, the sound of soft cries woke Sebastian up, it was from Ariella. He went over to her bassinet and gently picked her up.
"Good morning again, princess. I hope you had a good nap." Seb said to his daughter who looked at him curiously.
He made some funny faces and tickled her a little which erupted a smile from her, followed by a very tiny giggle. Then he went over to the changing table to change her diaper, just like the nurse had shown him earlier.
Jayda slowly opened her eyes when she heard soft cries. She knew it was from Ariella.
A smile made its way to her lips when she saw Sebastian approach her and pick her up. She watched him play with her a little before going over to change her diaper.
Watching Seb attend to their princess was one of the sweetest things she had ever watched him do. He took his time in changing her and also sang in between to keep her entertained.
Jayda smiled. She couldn't wait for Aaron to meet his younger sister. She was sure he would throw a tantrum when he woke up and found out that She and Seb were nowhere to be found in the house.
Jayda stopped work when she was almost eight months pregnant. Sebastian stopped going to work too. He worked from home and only went to work when he had important meetings with clients and that was about two to three times.
Besides that, he was always by Jayda's side, taking care of her and most importantly, entertaining her. Thanks to Aaron too who did most of the entertaining job.
Jayda's ninth month of pregnancy was kind of the hardest for her. She hardly slept or had an appetite to eat anything. Her feet were always swollen and sometimes she had headaches. But she was able to cope under Sebastian and Aaron's care. Her boys gave her the strength to keep going even when she was tired and wanted Ariella to come out already.
Thankfully, Ariella heeded to her plea and came out at the end of the second week of her ninth month of pregnancy.
Jayda sat up as soon as Seb was done changing their daughter. She knew her little princess wanted some food.
"Morning." Sebastian approached Jayda with their baby in his arms and then kissed her forehead.
"Morning." Jayda placed a kiss on his cheek before he could pull away.
"Ready to feed her?" He asked and she nodded.
Seb handed Ella to her mom and then helped Jayda undo the button of her dress.
Jayda guided her nipple to Ariella's mouth. The little girl latched on immediately.
Seb sat beside Jayda and watched her feed their princess with so much adoration in his eyes.
"I can watch you both all day." Sebastian smiled.
Jayda chuckled. "I think I love being a mommy already." She said sincerely even though she never saw this coming as at this time last year.
"You were amazing in the labour room, you're stronger than I imagined you to be. Thanks for going through all that pain to bring our baby girl to life."
Jayda looked into Sebastian's eyes and spoke. "It was worth it. I wouldn't mind going through that again to bring our princess to life. Thank you for being by my side."
