Chapter Twelve
Read online · About 5 minutesI realized my secret wouldn't be a secret for much longer. I decided I was going to have to learn to accept that, especially when I had two hot guys who both most likely hated me and wanted to get revenge but it was okay. Well, that’s not completely true. I’m sure Andrew didn’t want revenge yet, since this was all probably still extremely new and he really didn’t have anything to hate me for besides that kiss.
I sighed and leaned back as I parked in a parking lot. I am going to get a huge break from everything and everyone by late tonight. That is, if Mary didn’t kill me first. You know, because I can control if two guys fight. My phone startsed to vibrate from the cup holder, and I looked down to see it was Tori. I let out another sigh, but this one of relief and quickly answered.
"Hello."
"Don't hello me!" Tori said in a disapproving tone.
"Sorry, what's wrong?" I asked with closed eyes.
"Well, I was stuck at home for the day because my mother was doing the whole ‘I'm gonna miss you when you go off to college thing’ and so I got stuck sitting here watching TV with her."
"And?" I asked, confused why she was telling me all of this.
"So, I was sitting there watching TV, and my mom is flickering through the channels and we pass TLM. You know, the show that talks all about celebrities. Funny, because I see you on the screen kissing freaking Andrew Carter as Lucky. Oh, and I see those two rolling around on the ground fighting like gorillas. There are videos everywhere, YouTube, Vine, Snapchat, everything you can think of! What the hell happened?" Tori demanded. I could just imagine her being overdramatic with hand motions as she sat there telling me the story.
"Well Andrew came over, thanks to Katy telling him where I live. When he left, I guess Damien must've pulled in or something and I got a nice recording of part of their conversation where Damien tells Andrew all about how he’s a dirty liar.” I snapped my eyes open in anger once again from the memory. “I guess Andrew didn’t like what he said and beat the crap out of him.”
"Wow, you get suck with your mom for the day and you miss everything," Tori says, acting amazed. "Where are you now?"
"Right now, I am at Starbucks, why?" I asked as I headed inside the building.
"Okay, I'll be there in a minute." She hung up. Not even a second later, she walked in Starbucks wearing a pair of sunglasses and a pretty gray shirt, blue skinny jeans and black stilettos.
"Paparazzi bad?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Only a little."
"I thought your mom wanted you at home?" I asked and she shrugged.
"This was clearly an emergency." She took a seat in the chair in front of me.
"How’d you get here so fast? I only told you not even a minute ago where I was,” I questioned.
“Snapchat's new stalker addition helped.” She hid a smile. “Plus, I lied a little when I said I couldn't leave the house. I was allowed out for a little drink or two and I know you so well to know this is where you'd be,” she said innocently and I smiled.
We walked up to the counter, and I ordered a Cookie Crumble Frappuccino and Tori ordered an Iced Coffee. We quickly thanked them and sat down again.
"Well, I have to say, the paparazzi are surrounding this place from the bushes, to behind cars, to pretending to be looking through a window of a store for twenty minutes. Ever since Ford's list got revealed that you're currently number one, everyone wants to get the inside dirt. On top of that, all media outlets want to know what that exactly was about," Tori said, rolling her eyes.
“I know, as exciting as this is, the paparazzi are worse than they've ever been,” I said, frowning.
“New York won't be much better.”
I couldn't help but agree. "Speaking of, when is our first photo shoot?" I asked, focusing my attention on my friend.
"Well, I think it’s supposed to be our first day we arrive in New York, so today," Tori said, taking a sip of her iced coffee.
"Why so late?" I questioned, twirling a piece of hair around my finger.
"Well, we each have our own individual photo shoots tonight, but I’m not exactly sure about all those details, so don’t quote me on that. But then the next day we have an interview at eight a.m., but again don’t quote me on that, then we have to go out to lunch with an important magazine company and we may have another photo shoot somewhere in there."
"Oh, I think I remember Mary saying something about a lunch," I said, shrugging and taking a sip of my Frappuccino. We both sat there talking for a little while before Tori jumped up suddenly.
"Oh, my gosh, it's already five! I have to go back and do some extra packing and probably get yelled at by my mom.”
"Why would you get yelled at?" I asked her and she sent me a sheepish smile.
"I told her I was going to the store to pick up something," she said, grabbing her purse.
"Of course, you did," I said, shaking my head. But I’ll see you tonight."
We did the whole kiss-kiss thing and she left. I left right after her and went home. Most of the Paparazzi left besides the few hiding across the street secretly taking pictures.
Of course, I’m a full-time procrastinator so I waited until an hour before I started packing, but it wasn't until seven that we left. I got into the dark Escalade limo waiting outside and left to the airport where I met Mary and Tori, plus her manager Megan. Surprisingly, it was only a two-hour speech instead of the typical four-hour one about what happened today.
