No Matter What — CHAPTER 43

HENDRICK BLACK'S POV:-

Mr Black: I would say that I am thankful that you are our son and we don't have any daughter.

My father replied bitterly and I gritted my teeth hearing his answer. I glared at him. He was alive because of the bars of the cell between us. Otherwise I would have killed my good for nothing father that very day. He forced my mother away while she did not dare to look into my eyes again. She was guilty.

Hendrick Black: That is why I did not ask you that question, Mr Black. You are a cold hearted man. Who cares about nothing but his money, his business and his reputation.

I yelled angrily as they went away. I kicked the bars hard then went back to my bed. I sat on the bed with my head in my hands. I wanted to kill that heartless man. I knew he was forcing my mother to say all that to me. Because when she learned that I forced myself on a woman, since that day everything changed between us. My mother was not like she used to be.

Kendrick Black: This is regression you are feeling, my brother.

I heard my brother's voice and looked up. I rolled my eyes and stood up with a smirk on my face. I just could not show him what I was going through. To be honest, I did not know what was going on with me. It was like I was not myself anymore.

Hendrick Black: So you came. Here to enjoy my destruction. Like I destroyed everything in your life? It is really not a pleasure seeing you here today.

I asked him bitterly and he shook his head. He came closer and held the bars. He looked like he had not slept in days. I gave him a confused look when he patted my arm through the bars.

Kendrick Black: Brother, I am not here to see your destruction. I am here for you. To support you to do what's right. You and I both know what father is asking you to do, it will not even lead you near the right path. Brother, you know better. You hate the old man for a reason. That was the reason why I decided to stay in London. You and I both know he is the reason behind everything that has happened in our lives.

He said and I gritted my teeth. He was behaving like he cared. He only cared for himself. He never cared for anyone. He decided to run away while I was the one who was stuck here in New York with my shity family and my good for nothing father. My addict father who only had three things in his life, drugs, gambling and women. Everyday I saw him breaking my mother's heart.

Hendrick Black: You are talking like you care so much about us, brother. Remember, you were the one who decided to run away. You left me here alone. Now you have come back to teach me a lesson about the right path you think I should follow. Who asked you to even show your face here. Nobody needs you here, brother. Go back to London.

I replied bitterly and went back to the bed. I sat down and gritted my teeth. He dared to show up when I did not need him at all. And he thought he would be forgiven for everything he had done. Well, it was not that easy. I had decided not to forgive him ever.

Kendrick Black: I am neither here to see your destruction, nor to ask for forgiveness. I am here so I could show you the right path. You know better. Brother, you are not bad. Don't be like our father. You hated him most when we found out about him cheating on our mother. We both know why mother is not talking to you anymore. Brother, you still have time. He never cared about us. He was here to save his reputation, not his son. Don't let him win. Don't be like him.

He said and I shook my head. I looked at the ceiling and tried to control my tears hard. But my tears were more stubborn than me. They flowed like a rain cloud.

Hendrick Black: It's too late, brother. Who cares if I did not do whatever father was asking me to do. I am like him. I have become him. I have hated him most and look at me. I became an ass hole like him.

I replied and stood up. I went to him and he wiped my tears.

Kendrick Black: These tears are telling me otherwise. Brother, you still have hope. You can still do good. I know you hate yourself. But don't do what father is asking you to do. If you do that, you will kill that last hope as well. There is still a thin line between my brother and the monster you have hated for so many years.

He replied and I shook my head.

Hendrick Black: Why are you here, Kenny? I destroyed your life. Because of me, you and Ella are separated. I know how many lives I have destroyed. You are on top. Why are you here? What do you want?

I asked him angrily. I wanted to know the reason why he was beside me when I needed him. It was true. I needed him to be by my side. He was the only friend I ever had. But he went away for Ella. He stayed in London for the woman he was in love with. I just wanted to know why.

Kendrick Black: Is it not obvious my brother, Henry? I am your brother. And brothers support each other. Please, Henry. Don't do it. Don't defame her more. Don't destroy her more than you have already done. Let her live happily. Trust me, you will be happy seeing her happy in her life. If you love her crazily as you have said that you were ready to kill her and then kill yourself so you can unit with her. Brother, try to let her be free.

He said and I nodded my head. He held his fist in front of me and I smiled. I bumped my fist with his.

Kendrick Black: I still believe in you. You are not like our father. You are better than him. Show him and the whole world. Trust me, you will find your heaven if you did not do that.

He said and I nodded my head.

Hendrick Black: I promise I will not. I will not be like our father. I will accept everything before they will start the process.

I replied and he patted my arm. If I would be able to hug him, I would have. I felt an urge to hug my brother. But those damn bars did not let us.
