No Matter What — CHAPTER 42

HENDRICK BLACK'S POV:-

I was sitting on the only bed that was in the jail cell they kept me in. It was the first day of the case. I already knew that Jo and his gang had already testified that I was the one who had paid them to kidnap Cassandra. And I raped Cassandra as well. It was true. I had paid Jo millions to kidnap her. And I had raped her. I was the cold hearted man everyone known as the monster. Monster, that was what she used to call me. Only if she would understand how I felt about her. But who could have told her. She loved that son of a bitch Hunt.

I saw my parents coming towards the cell. I stood up and waited for them. I knew why they were visiting me. They were worried if something happened to me, they did not have anyone else to take care of the business they cared about most. At least my father was here for that specific reason. As per my brother, he never wanted to be part of that business. He made his own life in London. For him, it was a prison. He thought everything bad in our lives was somehow connected to that business.

Mr Black: Son, you don't have to worry about anything. We took care of everything. Now, just do exactly as I will tell you and you will be a free man.

He said and I looked at my mom who was standing behind him with her mouth sealed. Something inside me screamed that I would not like the plan my father had in his mind. But of course, I had to know everything. So I just raised my brow at my father and he sighed.

Mr Black: It is for your own good. You have to do exactly as I am telling you to do. Their evidence against you is solid enough to end this case in one day. Please son, you have to do that for your mother at least if not for me.

He replied and pleaded to me to do everything he would ask me. I signed again and signalled him to speak up. A wide smile was on his face as he got the signal.

Mr Black: As our lawyer has said, we will not do anything in the beginning. But in the end, the judge will ask you if you have anything in your defense. It is part of law. They will ask you this question. You have to tell them that she was in a physical relationship with you. To hide it from the world, she asked you to play this kidnapping drama.

He started and my jaw actually dropped on the floor. I regained my composure and gritted my teeth at him.

Hendrick Black: What the fuck are you talking about? Do you think it is easy to prove that innocent woman as a slut? How dare you to come up with such a sinful idea. What made you think that I would do something like that?

I roared at him and my father bit his tongue. He stepped back and signalled my mother to talk to me. He knew how much I hated him for whatever he had done to my mother. That was why he knew that only my mother could convince me to do whatever he was asking me to do.

Mrs Black: Hendrick, please son. Have mercy on me. Look at me. Kendrick denied to even come back even after he was kicked out of that house. Please, just listen to your father and do exactly as he will guide you.

My mother pleaded to me with teary eyes and I gritted my teeth. I nodded my head for her and she wiped her tears. I signalled my father to carry on while I held my mother's hands to calm her down.

Mr Black: Quinn and a few people working for us would testify that they have seen her with you. It would be just for once. Once you are free, you can live your life as you want. Then do whatever you want but please, you have to tell the judge that everything happened with her free will. That she asked you to have sex with her but she did not want her father to know what kind of slut she is.

He replied and I let go of my mother's hands. I had to ball my fists to control my anger. My mother cupped my face through the bars and I looked at her. She had tears in her eyes. But she wiped my tears. I did not know but I had tears in my eyes. For what reason, I did not know.

Mrs Black: You will do that for me, right? You will tell the judge that she is guilty. Promise me, you will do that, my son. You are the only reason I am alive. Don't take that away from me. Promise me.

She pleaded to me and started sobbing hard. My father wrapped his arms around her shoulders and rubbed her arms to calm her down. But she did not. I was not able to say anything. My words vanished and my tongue died in my mouth when she asked me to do something I could not do at all. I shut my eyes tightly and nodded my head slowly. I just hit my forehead with the bars a few times due to my helplessness. Because I knew after that Cassandra would not even hate me.

Hendrick Black: Tell me one thing, mother. What if she was your daughter and I would be the son of that agent? Tell me how would you feel? Tell me if you would have a daughter and someone would have done something like that to your daughter. Would you still ask me to defame Cassandra as a slut or would you kill me with your own hands? Tell me, I want to know.

I asked her in the exact same pleading tone she was using with me. She looked at me with her eyes filled with guilty tears. She opened her mouth a few times but then shut it. As I knew she was speechless with the questions I had asked her.

Mr Black: I would say that I am thankful that you are our son and we don't have any daughter.

My father replied bitterly and I gritted my teeth hearing his answer. I glared at him. He was alive because of the bars of the cell between us. Otherwise I would have killed my good for nothing father that very day. He forced my mother away while she did not dare to look into my eyes again. She was guilty.

Hendrick Black: That is why I did not ask you that question, Mr Black. You are a cold hearted man. Who cares about nothing but his money, his business and his reputation.

I yelled angrily as they went away. I kicked the bars hard then went back to my bed. I sat on the bed with my head in my hands.
