Chapter 32
Read online · About 4 minutesMari’s POV
"What?" Z chuckles as he caught me staring at him while he parks his car in front of our house.
We just came home after a long day at school and it has been his habit to give me a ride home. Well, he does that even before but I also bring my car from time to time. But now, he tries his best to always fetch me whenever he can.
I'm not complaining of course but it's been more than a month and I'm still not used to the fact that Z is indeed already mine.
He is the perfect boyfriend. He'd greet me with a good morning and sweet messages. Bid me goodnights. He'd make sure to eat lunch with me and fetch me after class. Every week, we'd go out on a date or just stay at home and watch movies.
He showers me with small gifts and lots of kisses, He hugs me tight whenever he got the chance.
I mean, he's just so perfect, I can never ask for more.
But that's what's scary.
He is too perfect, sometimes I'm scared to know this isn't real at all.
"Nothing. I'm just," I stopped midway. Sometimes, I still find it hard to tell him what I really think because I'm afraid I'd suddenly wake up and realize that this is just a part of my wonderful dream. So as much as I can, I am trying to make the most of it.
"Just what?" he turned towards me, the engine already off as his attention all focused on me, his girlfriend.
A sigh escaped my lips.
"I don't know. Maybe I'm just afraid that one day, I'd realize this isn't true. That you," I gulped, my voice shaking a little, "that you aren't really mine, to begin with," I finished, my eyes now glued on the books situated on my lap as I try to avoid his gaze.
Just then, I felt a hand resting on top of mine. It was warm and comforting, it made me feel better which surprised me.
"Marigold, I told you to stop thinking about it a lot. This is real. We are real. And you have to get used to that fact because there's no way I'll ever let you go. I'll cling to you even if you get tired of me," he chuckled and I did the same.
"That's impossible. Why would I get tired of you?" I asked. He should know that I feel like I'm the luckiest girl ever since I have him.
I won't get tired of him that's impossible.
My eyes watch as he leaned forward and gave me a quick peck on my lips.
"I'm all yours, Mari. So don't be scared anymore. I won't go anywhere," he whispered.
And another kiss.
And another.
And slowly I was drowning myself into his sweet taste until we heard the sound of knocking from the window.
Immediately, I rolled down the car window and saw my brother, his hands resting on his waist as he looks at us. His brows furrowed and he seemed a little annoyed. From here, I can clearly see Elle and Irish was sitting on the bench in our backyard.
The others are also there. Are we having a party or what?
Ever since I get to know them, the boys seemed like comfortable staying in our house to hang out.
Why are they outside anyways?
"No sex in the car, you two. You do realize it's just five in the afternoon and you are all out eating each other in the broad daylight?" he snickered before turning his back, my face blushing red at his words.
Sometimes, I hate that Latch isn’t that scared f me.
I mean, he wasn't as protective as before and maybe it's because he trusts Z but sometimes, he's still a jackass.
"Don't mind your brother," I heard Z chuckle. "He's just salty because his crush ignored him," he added and I raised an eyebrow.
Did someone ignore my brother? Wow, I need to meet that girl. She's the bomb.
In no time, Z had already gone out of the car to open the door on my side. It was something he had been doing ever since but it still made my heart flutter.
He took my bag and other books and I bit my lower lip when I heard the other boys cheering.
"Z, you're too whipped. Come over here!" Y teased and I wanted to smack the boy's head. clicked.
Once we reached them, my brother snickered.
"Thank you for not tainting our family's reputation by having sex on the streets, big sis. By the way, you two might want to come inside the house. Dad wants to see him again,”
"Hey!!!!" I screamed at my brother. "Stop kidding. It's not funny." I pouted. Dad is always nervous about me dating. When will he ever stop being so paranoid?
"He's not kidding though," Atlantis mumbled as she smiled at me awkwardly.
A bewildered sigh exclaimed my lips.
Impossible.
A weird feeling starting to succumb my earlier happy demeanor. My eyes turned to the window in hopes to see any sign of living or movement. I stomped my feet in annoyance. I don't care if I look some child but I'm not getting any of this.
Z chuckled and just pulled me in for a hug.
“It’s okay, Mari. This isn’t the first time,” she smiled awkwardly.
