His Personal Maid — Chapter 17

Once Desire was done removing her dress, Queen Naomi was already at the door with another. She collected it and quickly put it on. Discarded her stained dress into the washing basin and before she could start washing it, Naomi pulled her out of the room.

“Let’s go back to my chambers. These girls would wash the dress and make sure it is dried by the time you return” Queen Naomi explained.

Desire looked around the room for her master but she couldn’t find him. When still looking around, she met Queen Naomi’s eye and the look she gave her, made Desire ask what she wanted to ask.

“Where’s my master? I can’t see him out here anymore” Desire asked.

“He was summoned by the king for some important work. I’ll send you back personally before night falls but till then, let’s spend some alone time in my chambers”

Not waiting for her to say yes or no to her request, Queen Naomi dragged Desire out of the house. Still, Desire looked back once in a while to see if she could get a glimpse of her master.

“Do not worry, Desire. He’ll be back safely” Queen Naomi assures her as they move towards her carriage that’ll get them back to her chamber. Desire climbed in with the Queen and they were moved to her chambers.

On their way to the chamber, Queen Naomi suggested they stop to explore the garden of flowers. Desire had always been eager to see that place, so she smiled at her Queen.

The carriage stopped and they both stepped down. Immediately they did, they were met with the appealing fragrance of the flowers planted. Desire fell in love with the place already.

A young girl dressed in royal robe ran past them, laughing and giggling with another boy her age but as soon as the young girl saw Queen Naomi, her expression turned sore and she kept on sending daggers to the queen with her eyes.

Before Desire could ask who they were, Naomi explained, “These are the children of Queen Beibei, let’s just say their mother planted the seed of hated in them too early”

The young girl stuck her tongue out at Naomi, causing Desire to smile a little. Naomi leaned forward to flicker the girl on her head but Desire quickly stopped her, to avoid another clash with the first queen. A fight was enough for a day.

“I think we should go to your chambers like you suggested, my Queen” Desire asked with a head bow.

“You haven’t even explored the gardens of flowers yet” Queen Naomi whined.

“That’s okay, my Queen. I can do that at any time. I’m just a little bit weary and I think you also need your rest as well”

“If that is the case then, let’s go to my chambers”

The Queen suddenly held Desire's hand and out of shock, Desire withdrew her hand and stepped back a little.

“Stop being so stubborn, Desire. You’re a friend to me and not a slave. Holding your hand isn’t forbidden” Queen Naomi explained and Desire nodded in understanding but she still moved back and let her queen lead the way.

The meeting that Sylvester Ho went for was with the King and other important officials. Even though prince Li Wei was present, Sylvester still doubted how his uselessness was needed.

Li Wei kept on staring at Sylvester Ho wickedly while Sylvester kept on smirking at him anytime their eyes met.

Sylvester had the power to destroy him and that fact was not stopping either of them from hating each other nor was it stopping Li Wei from wishing he could kill Sylvester Ho.

Sylvester suddenly raised his hand during the meeting to give a suggestion, “If we need to prepare for war, the first thing to do would be to increase the number of our army as we have less than a thousand soldiers presently. Also, there’ll be a need to give those at the outpost better training equipment. Also, enough food and necessities should be sent over to them as a push to keep working hard”

“Preparations would start immediately to recruit new soldiers who are ready to fight to their last breath for their region. That’s a brilliant suggestion, Minister Ho, we would take it into consideration” The king praised Sylvester.

This inturn enraged Li Wei and he couldn’t wait for the meeting to end so he could attack Sylvester Ho.

The meeting ended after several deliberations.

Sylvester didn’t understand why they had to prepare for a war that was not in sight. Every other surrounding region had already signed a treaty in a large meeting where Sylvester had represented his region last year for peace to reign in all regions.

All regions had agreed to not raise a sword against the other not to talk of waging war. Sylvester Ho was just as surprised as to why the issue of war is being discussed.

After the meeting ended, Sylvester was about to go in to the king to discuss with him and remind him of the treaty signed when Li Wei appeared behind him.

“Must be feeling so lucky, Sylvester Ho?” Li Wei taunted but Sylvester only ignored him.

“Now you’ll play deaf and dumb, right?” Li Wei asked and still Sylvester was silent. Li Wei hadn’t realized he was speaking loud and most of the officials left behind heard what he was saying.

“Let me remind you of a little story in simple words. The same way I made it happen the last time is the same way it’ll repeat itself. I even learnt this one is a Virgin, I can’t wait to have her buried beneath me, moaning and struggling as I pound into her” Sylvester’s fisted hands were turning red from anger, his eyes darkened at the memory of what Li Wei had just said.

Sylvester turned and punched Li Wei directly in the neck, sending him to the ground, struggling with pain and walked out of the ministers hall without looking back.

He got back to his chamber before nightfall to see that Desire wasn’t there. He went into the room to wait and once he realized that it was getting dark and that anything could happen to her, Sylvester walked out of his chambers and waited outside, hoping he’ll hear her scream Incase anything happens.

At some point, Sylvester got agitated, worried and angry at how stupid Desire was to stay out that late. He got up to go look for her and when he took his first step, he saw her walking towards him with Ying right behind her and they were laughing about something.

He didn’t know why or how it happened but he got mad as he set his eyes on her.

“Why are you so irresponsible? Why would you stay out late not giving a care for what lurks in the darkness” He screamed at her even before she got to his side.

“My lord, I was with—” Sylvester wasn’t going to hear any of her explanations so he shut her up.

“How many times do I need to explain to you as well, Ying?” Before Ying could reply, he turned back to Desire.

“Is it until I chain you up in the dungeons again for you to know your place? Stop acting like your life got better because I got you here. You’re still a slave and my Personal Maid, get that into your senses”

His words affected Desire so much that she wanted to cry. She tried stopping herself from crying but she couldn’t help it as a lone tear made it down her face.

Sylvester Ho not knowing the gravity of his words, glared at her and Ying and walked back into his chamber.
