His Personal Maid — Chapter 12

The moment Li Wei pointed at Desire and asked for the king to make her his bride, Desire heart skipped its regular beats. Her eyes went wide and she kept on swallowing her saliva to keep her throat from being too dry.

Unknowingly she had held on to the hem of Sylvester’s ceremonial uniform, the one he had worn to celebrate with the royal household.

Desire had thought about how powerful he looked in the ceremonial dress and wished she could tell it to his face that he looked good. Desire’s opinion of her master changed after he saved her from the hands of Li Wei even though she had mentally corrected herself to know her place as the servant.

“I want her brother” Li Wei repeated his need to the King and his brother, the King nodded repeatedly at Li Wei’s choice.

Desire’s head snapped up to look at both the King and his brother but quickly bowed her head once she realized that she was about to break a rule by looking the king in the eyes.

“Be on your feet, young maiden” The king instructed. Desire was about to stand when Sylvester forcefully pulled her back into the seat.

He turned to look at her and when their eyes met, he saw tears glistening at the corner of Desire’s eyes and so was fear evident in her eyes and in turn, Desire saw fire and anger in Sylvester’s eyes and this scared her to the bone.

“I will handle this, do not fear a thing” Sylvester Ho assured Desire and she nodded, telling him she trusted him even with her life.

“My King” Sylvester stood up and walked towards the King.

“It would have been a thing of great joy for me to submit this beautiful young maiden to the royal palace but I’m afraid, I’ll have to say no to your request, My King” Sylvester lowered his head in submission.

“Sylvester—-” Li Wei roared at his words. He knew Sylvester was going to stop him in every way from getting the maiden and he as well was ready to fight for her.

“My Prince” Sylvester called out mockingly.

“You dare defy the king’s order. Have you forgotten that next to God is the king? How dare you go against what he wants” Li Wei spat at him.

“My hands are tied here, Your highness and there’s not much that I can do. I can’t sit still and watch the royal household take my betrothed away from me, my king. Through the years I’ve been your loyal servant, for once, repay me of my kindness towards the throne” Sylvester pleaded.

“Your loyalty to the throne is a duty, Sylvester not a self made proclamation. Stop using it against the King. You have done nothing to deserve his mercy” Li Wei screamed.

Prince Li Wei knew Sylvester couldn’t probably threaten him about the past in front of everyone sitting out there. He knew he was pushing his button but yet, he was angry at Sylvester,

Sylvester looked up and smirked at Li Wei before turning back to the king.

“What do you say to this matter, my King?” One of the king’s royal cabinet members asked. The king was deep in thought, he was thorn between giving in to his brothers request or accepting Sylvester’s plea.

“Who else is a witness to the betrothal of this young lady to my loyal prime minister?” The king asked.

“I am a witness, my lord. It was the wish of my father to get her married to my brother and for years, she has been leaving under his care” Queen Naomi replied while on her feet.

She was the King’s favorite and he smiled as he heard her voice.

“I will not disrupt an already made plan for the Prime Minister. Li Wei, kindly make another wish and I promise to grant it. Till then, let the merry continue” The king returned to his throne while Li Wei kept on glaring at Sylvester.

He knew Sylvester and his sister had just lied about the betrothal but who could blame the siblings; nobody in the kingdom can trust their female dogs with Li Wei.

Sylvester went back to his seat but not without passing an appreciative look to his sister. She might have helped the matter but she had complicated things the more. Sylvester was sure that Li Wei would not stop at anything to find out the truth and expose them both.

If the King found out that they had just lied to his face, his wrath would be deadly.

Desire couldn’t look Sylvester in the face even after he sat right beside her. She was embarrassed and sorry that she had caused him trouble the second time. Sylvester also ignored her act and focused on the performance.

Li Wei still didn’t stop looking at her like a predator.

After the banquet ended, the King was the first to leave according to their customs, the Queens followed behind while the Prime Minister was next.

Before Sylvester walked out, he drew Ying close and gave him a solid instruction.

Once it was time for the minors like Desire to leave the hall, Ying followed closely behind and didn’t fail to notice one of the prince’s vile disciples trailing after her as well.

Desire was about to turn to the direction of the Queen’s chamber when Ying stopped her, held her by the hand and started walking without talking to her about anything.

“Ying! What is going on?” Desire asked as Ying held her hand to lead her to an unknown place.

“You will understand soon enough” He smiled as he replied, trying to calm the scared girl down.

His smile worked like magic making Desire calm her nerves.

“How’s Kim Chui?” Desire asked the question that had been on the tip of her tongue ever since she saw Ying again.

Ying paused at her question for a few seconds before composing himself and replying, “She should be fine, I guess. I haven’t seen her ever since I dropped her off at the Harem” Ying replied honestly.

“Thank you for helping us that day” Ying nodded and didn’t say anything anymore.

They stopped in front of a beautiful, ancient chamber that was embellished with beautiful red roses. The roses made the chamber smell so nice and made Desire fall in love with it so fast.

The door leading into the chamber suddenly opened, revealing Sylvester Ho.

“Thank you Ying, I’ll take it from here” Sylvester collected Desire for him and they both watched Ying walk away.

He gestured for her to go inside and when she entered, the inside was better than the outside. Scented candles decorate the room with light and great scent. Desire almost purr at the arrangement of the candles until Sylvester said something behind her. She turned to hear what he was saying and also gave him her full attention.

“You’ll be staying here till we leave this place, together with me”
