Rise of the Darkness — CHAPTER 23

Calla looked around herself. A moment ago she was sitting on the couch and watching Ethan and his friend performing a spell. And the other moment, she was standing in the same forest she had seen so many times in her dreams. She was standing all alone. "Ethan." She screamed loudly. She was expecting Ethan to come and get her but she didn't know that he was trapped already. She looked at the sky and found the dark Moon. It was full but eclipsed. She gulped hard in fear.

"Calla." She heard an unknown voice from behind. She turned around and found a well dressed and sophisticated man standing.

"You look familiar. Aren't you Ethan's Master, Master Dalton?" Calla asked. A small smile appeared on his face and he nodded his head.

"I am not just his Master honey. I am your ancestor." Dalton replied in a loving tone. This was the first time he was seeing her in front of him and he was happy. He noticed her voice and even her accent was exactly like his Lilly. She looked exactly like his Lilly. Same eyes, same height, same face, same features and same beauty.

"Where am I? And why am I here in the first place?" Calla asked him.

"Honey, you are trapped inside your head." Dalton replied.

"I don't understand what you are saying?" Calla asked.

"The spell Andrew used, was given to him for this, to trap you like this." Dalton explained.

"Ethan will get me out." Calla replied.

"Unfortunately, he can't help you, my child. You have to rescue yourself and Ethan as well." Dalton replied.

"What do you mean? If it was a trap, couldn't Ethan see it before, like he always does?" Calla asked.

"Ethan can see the future because I gifted him my power. His power is to read minds." Dalton replied. "My child, they used Andrew to make it work because they knew Ethan couldn't be fooled. They want to trade you against Sophie but what they don't know is Riders never trade their Alpha at any cost." Dalton added.

"Who wants to trade me? Why don't you just tell us?" Calla asked in an angry tone.

"You will not understand my child, how much I want to help you? How much I want this all to be over. But I am bound, I am not allowed to tell you directly. But in an indirect way." Dalton replied.

"And that indirect way is?" Calla asked.

"Right now, you need to get out of here so you can help Ethan to get out of that trap. You're so strong by your blood." Dalton told Calla.

"But how?" Calla asked and looked around. The forest was getting even darker.

"Calla you are as strong as Ethan. You need to find your way out of here or there will be no way to save Sophie." Dalton replied. He then leaned down and whispered something in Calla's ear and started stepping backwards.

"Wait, you need to tell me what I have to do?" Calla yelled.

"Everything you need is inside you Calla and now you know what you have to do as you are out of here. Find your way out." Dalton said and Calla saw him vanishing in the fog. Calla started running in the same direction where Dalton vanished.

"You're running in the wrong direction." She gasped when she heard that voice again. She turned around to look at Xavier standing. She ran to him and wrapped her arms around him. "Calla he told you to find your way out of here, not to follow him." Xavier said.

"I don't know how to get out of here daddy. I'm lost." Calla said between her sobs.

"I know baby and I am so sorry. I should have listened to your mother. She told me to tell you everything about us, about you and your ancestors. But I was selfish, I didn't even tell you about Sophie. I am so sorry you have to go through all this because of me. But Calla, I'm glad Ethan gave you everything that you need, that I couldn't give you ever. He has told you everything. You have to sit down and remember everything he has told you and you will find a way out." Xavier said.

Calla nodded her head and Xavier pecked her forehead. "I know you can do it. Believe in yourself." He added and walked away. Calla took a deep breath to calm her nerves, she closed her eyes and remembered everything that had happened since she saw him at the beach party. She recalled every dream she had with him and all the memories he gave her back. Just then she remembered. Ethan had told her that her blood is very powerful and she can break any spell with a drop of her blood. She picked up a twig from the ground and pierced it at the tip of her finger. She sat on a huge rock beside her and squeezed her finger a little. A drop of her blood pooled out of the hole and dropped on the ground. She closed her eyes as her surroundings started glowing like the Moon actually landed on the surface of the Earth.

"Hahaha… no. It's not the right spell, for you both actually. You know Ethan Carter, you should have done that yourself. It's a binding spell, now you can't get out of this circle. Now I'm taking her and you both enjoy each other's company." Ethan heard his voice and he fumed in anger.

"What are you doing here?" Ethan asked the only person who could dare to confront Ethan. Brandon, his Master's second son. The one who changed his way after his father's death and his sister Camelia, she started supporting him for power.

"Come on brother. I thought you would be happy seeing me here. Cammie is outside, but she doesn't want to meet you." Brandon said in a dramatic sweet voice.

"Don't call me brother you traitor, why are you here?" Ethan yelled at him.

"I'm here to take her so I can trade her against that pure blooded vampire kid." Brandon explained.

"You think you can make a deal with the Storm Riders. They will eat you alive." Andrew replied.

"You know Andy I didn't ask you anything so you better shut up. Now you both enjoy your life here in these circles forever, I'm going to take her with me." Brandon said. And started laughing hysterically.

"Not so fast you dumbest thing." Calla said as she threw a crystal ball on his head. It collided with the back of his head and shredded into pieces. Brandon growled and turned around to face her.

"Not so smart human." Brandon said and lunged himself upon Calla. Calla fell on the couch and he pinned her. He pulled his handkerchief out of his pocket and spilled something on it from a small bottle.

"You are going to sleep so we can take you." He said. Calla scratched his cheek and he opened his mouth. Just then put her wounded finger on his tongue and a drop of her blood slided down his throat. She then kneed his stomach as hard as she could and he fell on the ground with a loud thud. Calla got up and kicked his stomach again. He screamed loudly in pain. Calla walked towards Ethan, she took the knife Ethan had given her and made a small cut on her palm. Blood pooled out of her palm and she let it drip on the circular boundaries that were caging both Ethan and Andrew inside. Her blood broke the spell and Ethan got free. She repeated everything again on the other circle to free Andrew as well. Ethan grabbed her hand, fished out his handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped it around her hand.

"You little human dared to…" Brandon couldn't complete his sentence as he saw both Ethan and Andrew fuming in anger.

"You dare to even think of hurting her, she's mine." Ethan growled at Brandon. Calla smiled at his possessive clam.

"You sick psycho, you dare to use me to get my Master's blood." This was Andrew who growled loudly. Both vampires were about to lunge at Brandon and Calla yelled.

"Stop…" they both turned around to look at Calla who was grinning mischievously.

"He and his sister know everything about the person who killed Sophie's parents and are searching for her and stalking me." Calla said and both Andrew and Ethan looked at each other and back to her.

"What? I am their blood, I can know things, can't I Grandpa Brady?" Calla asked Brandon and he gulped hard when he heard the pet name his father only used for him.

"How do you know that name?" Brandon asked with horror visible on his face.

"I think I know a lot about both you and your baby sister Cammie, or I should call her Grandma Cammie." Calla replied with a smirk on her face.

"His sister is outside, we need to get her too and get out of here, people are coming here to kill you both and get me. We need to hurry. I'll tell you everything Ethan." Calla said to Ethan

"I trust you Calla, don't worry." Ethan reassured her with a sexy smirk and turned to face Brandon.
