About our editions
StoryPDF prepares novels, novellas and short stories for comfortable online reading and free PDF downloads. Each available book has a complete reading text, a contents page and individual pages for its original sections.
What is included
Book pages identify the title, author, language, word count and available sections. We preserve the checked text’s paragraph order, spelling, punctuation and literary emphasis. These reading editions preserve the checked English text without cuts by StoryPDF. The English translator is identified when established; historical translations can differ from modern editions. We do not add study notes or simplified adaptations. A short story that has no chapter divisions is presented as one complete text.
Reading and printing
Read online with adjustable text, three colour themes and chapter navigation. Download an A4 PDF for 210 × 297 mm paper or a US Letter PDF for 8.5 × 11 inch paper. Both formats contain the same literary text, a linked contents page and section bookmarks. Long contents lists may span several pages. Reading times are estimates at 220 words per minute.
Availability and edition details
Books marked “Ready to read” have working reading and PDF links. An edition still in preparation has no download or reading link until its text, boundaries and formats have been checked. A work’s original publication date is shown when it has been established; the date of this reading edition is 28 October 2026.
Artwork and typography
StoryPDF uses illustrated and typographic covers prepared for this library. These are not illustrations from the original publications. The interface uses local Crimson Text under the SIL Open Font License. PDF editions may embed additional open-licensed fonts to preserve characters outside Crimson Text’s range.
Historical language and rights
Historical wording and attitudes remain in these texts without endorsement. Some works contain colonial or racist language. For public-domain works, status is checked for the specific English edition, including its translation. Some contemporary editions are provided with publication rights confirmed by the rights holder. Copyright rules differ by country; availability here does not establish the status of every edition in every country.
